But that was my point without the language and/or guide it's gonna be kinda weird there and could be dangerous. If one does not know some Spanish, then someone else must always accompany him, since no one around speaks English. While on the islands everybody speaks at least some or very good English.

In my opinion the ideal place to stay in Medellin for a few days would be the Medellin Mansion, but it's not gonna be too cheap. In order to have good time, you do not wanna save money there.
