I stayed in a room at the Pig & Whistle (a very good English pub on Soi 7) this weekend. The room was comfortable and very clean. Rate was 750 Bhat per night including English breakfast. More of a bed and breakfast type place than a hotel but extremely good value for money. They only have 17 rooms so you really need to book in advance. No reception so no problems with guests. Safe in room along with a big fridge (only water supplied). No out of hours room service but there are plenty of places nearby. The whole place is very well run by a Brit and all his staff speak good English. A bit noisy up until 2am when the beer bars quieten down.
All in all, the best budget place I have stayed at in Thailand so far. I think they give discounts for long stay but not sure.
Their contact details are as follows:

I stayed at the Apex Hotel, a short walk from Soi 11. Rates very cheap at 500 baht. Rooms fairly basic and the hotel is a bit run down but it is close to the action, girl friendly and the buffet breakfast is excellent. I stayed there in January and took one of many girls back. This hotel is very strict about checking the ID's of girls and they retain the ID card until the girl leaves. This particular girl wouldn't perform OWO and wouldn't kiss so I told her to leave early. The receptionist would not let her leave the hotel until they had phoned me up in the room to check I was OK. I think at that price it is very good value for money.
I had to make last minute hotel reservations for Pattaya as I was not sure on exact day that I would be able to leave Bangkok. Upon trying to book into the Marriott and other better hotels I found them to all be sold out.
I needed a place to stay so I booked a room at the Residence Garden figuring if it was not up to expectations I would look for another place to stay. I was somewhat supprised upon arrival as the place did not look bad at all.
I was given a 2 room suite on the back side of the hotel overlooking the back swimming pool. Room had a kitchen area with stove, fridge, & microwave as well as silverware and dishes. There was also a bar with bar stools seperating the kitchen and livingroom areas. A nice private balcony overlooking the pool. The room was very clean and in excellent repair. The bed was not quite as big as the Marriott's but large enough, Bathroom looked to have been updated. Cost was under one half of the Marriott price and I actually had more room.
Each night they have a Texas Bar-b-que with steaks, ribs, pork chops ect. which you select yourself then give them to the grill man with instructions as to how you want them cooked. They have a nice salad bar including soup and a selection of Thai food for your Thai girl. Cost is 350 bt per person.
The restaurant setting is next to the main pool and they have a fellow who entertains with an electronic keyboard and sings. I enjoyed this and found it to be a good value for the money.
This hotel is about a 10 min walk to the south end of Walking street but there are plenty of Baht Buses going and coming. I would stay at this hotel again.
Coming to Payatta next week for the first time with some friends, staying at Welcome Plaza hotel. I need to know if the hotel is OK to stay in.
Thanks
I was wondering if there are any hotels in Pattaya that have a pole inside (and a little platform).
The main reason for this is I'd like to bring a showgirl back and have her do a little dance for me.
Thanks
The Vault has a gogo-pole in the 2 Penthouse suites. It also has a jacuzzi and a bar in the room. They go very fast, so you should book it long time in advance. The price is 2000 bath pr night. There is a lot of pictures from the penthouse suite on their website. (www.thevaultpattaya.com)

Thanks
Last time, couple years ago, met a freind staying there. GF friendly, spacious lobby. What i didn't like - rooms were carpeted, had a moldly smell to the room & the beds were twin pushed together.
Hi All,
Staying at the above hotel which is new and located on Soi Bucaow, the rooms are good and spacious security is excellent regarding visitors they are logged into a register and ID taken, logged out when they leave and ID returned.
I am paying 800 baht per night no breakfast I would not stay here again as it is too far to walk to 2nd road and the traffic on Soi Bucaow is dangerous as there are no footpaths. Next time I will return to Areca lodge.
May the force be with you.
Durian,
How hard can it be to find a 'go-go interior making firm' that wants to work at your place?
Your chances to convince a go-go girl to do her moves at your place are pretty good, I'm sure.
Don't just dream your dream. Make it fukken happen!
Hi,
None of the Pattaya hotels I checked, all in the B250-500 range, changed their prices since July 2005.
You will still find good fan rooms for B250 and good to excellent aircon rooms for B350.
The worst one I saw was B550, had NO windows and smelt bad.
Mine was excellent at B350, tv, fridge, view, big bed, hot water.
So, for gawdsake, forget about paying B1,200 a night for a room!
Go cheap, live happy.

Be there in 70 days.

Marteau,
Please read what it says: ROOM, not HOTEL.
That is a very significant difference.
I've given advice on how to find hotels on many occasions: Get one for the first night and start fukken looking!
That's how I did it. That's how others do it. That's how you should do it.
Ok, more about the hotel: It's located in a rather busy soi off Sai Song. It has 15 rooms, half have fans, half have air. In fact, the air rooms have a fan too. All rooms have tv and fridge, but only air rooms have hot water. Every room has a balcony and depending on the location of the room in the hotel, you have or don't have a view. Some rooms are noisy, some are not. Good and bad rooms are the same price. Get it?
Which hotel to use when you have relatives along but want a convenient, FS massage at the hotel? (no, I'm not married but still...)
And are babysitting services reliable at Pattaya hotels?

Here my advice: Instead of a fancy overpriced place, get TWO rooms in a cheaper one and have your privacy.
I usually stay at the Royal Night in Soi 5 (they do not advertise on the net, don't have to, lots of regulars, mostly Thais and expats). Take only a bungalow at the S side of the street. Just like at a good old fashioned US motel you can walk/drive right up to it from the street. No problem with visitors.
Rate last time was 350 THB for BIG room with a/c, hot water, in high season. Maybe higher around holidays.
