Not much to add to what has been said in the past few months. Rocaluna, thanks for the map. It is an area I am familiar with. I have used the cheap motel you mention. It is called Hotel Moderno (or in my GPS system Hotel Derno) It is $25 for three hours and they have the girl sign in. Although this adds to the cost it decreases the risk a lot. It is very down market but, in my experience, it is pretty much guaranteed from 11pm onwards. Look on the east side of Barbosa just north of the river.

Jon32 I was just in San Juan last month, stayed on the 600 block of Ponce De Leon, and did not know the Blue Marlin was just four blocks up the street. I was so close, yet so far away.
