I usually like to take a few gifts for the chicas with me when I visit Colombia. One of the big suprises for me was how popular moving and singing stuffed animals are. For some reason I have never seen one in Colombia and either have the chicas.

To see what I am talking about go pay a visit to your local pharmacy. The Easter things are being put out now. Look at the stuffed animals and look for the ones that sing and move after you push a button.

I bought one last night on sale for $7.79. It is a pink and reddish color chicken. also comes in bright yellow. Push the button and the thing will dance and sings "lets do the chicken dance".

I do not know why but most Colombian chicas will go wild over the stupid chicken. I have been in a hotel where I will show the chicken to a chica at the reception desk. Next time by, she asked me to bring it back so her friends could see it and almost all of the female staff would be waiting for my return to see the chicken. Easy way to meet everyone. And of course everybody wanted it.

I have taken my chicken "amigo" with me to various places. Fast and easy way to meet the chicas. Only problem is figuring out who will receive the chicken as a present.

Hello, I am currently in Quito Ecuador, but will be leaving for Colombia in the near future, possibly as early as the end of this month. I RTFF but couldn't find any information on crossing the border from Ecuador into Colombia. What I would like to do is take a bus from Quito to Tulcan, cross the border on foot into Colombia, and then fly from a border town (Pasto or Ipiales? not sure) to Cali. Has anyone ever done this, or have any info on crossing the border into Colombia? I know the border area is dangerous, but from what I understand the Tulcan border crossing is one of the safer entry points. Also, which major city in Colombia has the least amount of gringo tourists, I'm assuming Cali, but maybe I am wrong? Thats the reason why I am interested in checking out Cali, and not somewhere like Cartagena or Medellin. Any info would be appreciated, hopefully I can contribute to the Colombia boards like I have to the Brasil and Ecuador boards!

The major city with the least amount of tourists is probably Barranquilla (4th largest), followed by Cali (3rd largest). I don't know why you are concerned about that -- Colombia is not heavily touristed and there are enough honeys to go around.

Another gift that the chicas liked was nice-smelling lotion. I had some lotions that I snagged from a previous stay in Miami (small bottle of Bath & Bodyworks - with basil in it). The chicas all digged it, and I ended up giving away 1/2 full bottle of sample size lotion on a chicas demands of "regalame." I then went to the Olveido mall in Medellin to look for something like it, and there just wasn't much of a selection! Plus the import taxes made it significantly more expensive in the states (same thing I found on buying wine in Colombia - you're gonna pay much more for good bottle of wine in Colombia then in States or in Argentina). So if you need something practical (for the chicas line of work) and you want to feel a nice soft American strippers' skin in Colombia on your chica, that may be the way to go.

You must pass through Popayan, and having been there (I flew in from BOG) I can say that guerillas control the countryside just outside town in every direction. A MUCH better idea is to take the TAME Flight from Tulcan to Cali.
I agre that CAli and BAQ have the least gringos of the major cities. I would also try Bucaramanga.

your posts get very boring. I am sorry, but that is the truth. You did a service to the board by letting them know about Luis in Armenia. That was good information the FIRST TIME. By repeating it "casi" weekly, and on many of the different threads in the Colombian section, you are making people who might have used Luis, dislike him only for the reason that you continue to tout him.

You should probably think about making a point to post his information once a month, or once a quarter. Mongers are always asked to RTFF so your information will be there for the monger going to Armenia.

I know if and when I go to Armenia, I will look up Luis. If he knows the scene and the chicas, then he is a valuable tool for enhancing the pleasure of our hobby.

Please, think about this suggestion and try it. I bet your "popularity" increases! (and you won't make me and others put you on our ignore list)
