Who cares whether people did or did not use condoms in the past.
That was then and this is now.
My math may not be that great but sufficient to know the article says one in 10 sex workers in Bali are HIV positive.
And if it's as under reported as these things usually are, then the odds of of ending up with an infected girl are about the same as blowing your brains out playing Russian Roulette.
Use this information as you wish.
Yes, you're probably right.
I think everybody in here knows about it.
The situation you point out about Indonesia and Bali is exactly the same as in many other asian countries or south american or african.
So?

I was watching a pod on Current about So Africa. They said that there will be
20 million abandoned childern, that parents have died from AIDS by 2010 in So Africa.
Your attitude of just a "SO" seams irresponsible. Oh am I missunderstanding
your intention?

Am I missing a zero??
Greetings All -
I usually vacation in Thailand but hav been reading the Bali forum for the first time and am interested. A couple of dumb questions have come to mind;
1) I found the conversion rate of rupiah to dollars is about 9500 to $1. If correct, some of the posts suggest that ST is about $10. Sounds too good to be true.
2) It may sound silly but what is the general attitude of the locals toward Americans? Friendly? Hostile?
3) Is there still a risk of terror attacks in the area? I still remember the nightclub bombings a while back. Hopefully that has dissapated some.
Any info is much appreciated.....LDP

RL
I think HIV is a quite huge and complex subject to be handled like that.
I dont think this is the appropiate part of the forum to talk about HIV and like that.
I believe that everybody in here is quite aware of what is doing and how is he doing.
The purpose of the forum is not to scare people with incomplete and generic informations.
In other terms why post ONLY in the Bali part of the forum a generic warning on Hiv.

Roselinda Massage
Just a couple of comments. I am also not one to enjoy the experience when there are a bunch of people hanging around outside the front of the massage parlors and so I go to one of the other Roselinda massage places. (I believe there are 3? )This one is located on Jl Dyana Pura and has a better than average massage followed by a HJ or BBBJ. Costs are always up to negotiation.
Also I went to the newer Kuta Bugar Jaya on Sunset road. It has been open for 3 months now and is nice and clean. It has the same setup as the rest, with the fishbowl and curtained rooms. I went in at 1030am and found that they do not open until 11am. There were a couple of girls there early and they took care of me. Forgot the number of the girl, but she was a pretty balinese girl who gave a good massage and a HJ. I didn't push for more, but will return again.
Enjoy the fun of Bali.

LDP.
In general , I believe you will find that a very nice looking LT will pull about 40$ to 50$ out of your wallet. You can also go to the brothels of Sanur, not the most romantic encounter, and if you pretend to being a regular there, you will be out 20$, however, expect the girl to ask you for a tip within minutes of you starting a session with her. (5$ will be more than enough).
Attitude towards Americans is the same as attitude towards Europeans, Australians, Canadians, New Zealanders, North Western Greenlanders, Caymanites, Arubans, (?), and residents of the Falkland islands. You got money? You got honey. You will have no problems whatsoever. The colour of your skin, along with your accent are completely unimportant here.
Insofar as bombs are concerned, nobody thought 2 planes would slam into the WTC exactly 6 years ago today. Nobody thought their bus would blow up in the middle of London, nobody on a train in Spain thought there would be problems, just as the party goers on October 10, 2002, never thought they were going to fall victims of mad men. You just never know where the crazies will strike again, but IMHO, they seem too fucking dumb to strike twice in the same place. (on a related note, Amrosi has exhausted his appeals, so he should be pushing up the daisies any day).
LDP, come to Bali, have fun, drop some cash, don't bargain too hard for that Bintang T shirt, and when you get home, tell your friends what a wonderful place this is.
(Stepping off my soap box, apologies if I offended anyone with my verbiage).
If you do come here, drop me a line, maybe I will be around, and can give you more suggestions as to where to go eat. For ideas on where to find girls, ask PD, he is wired into the scene, which BTW, starts really much too late for me.

It was always interesting after those unusual mushroom omeletes they served up the road. They usually came from Java. How times change.

Dear PD,
I will be going to Kuta on the 26th September and will be staying at Bali Summer Hotel. As this is my first trip to Bali, can you recommend places with young and pretty working lady around the area for some actions during the afternoon? Are there any brothels and spas with full services around Kuta in the day time?
Cheers

Just noticed that you've posted the same question twice, but nothing else.
You are a total newbie and we don't know who you are, so instead of duplicating your one post, your best bet is to RTFF - once you start reading, you'll find that there's lots of good information here.
And we look forward to reading one or more posts from you after your visit, where you write some detailed information about your experiences here. 'Tis better to give than to receive!

Ramadan in Bali
Well anyone that says that Ramadan will stop the girls in Bali has got the wrong information this year. They are coming from Jakarta and other parts of Jakarta for a holiday/money earning break. I have spoken to a least a dozen girls all who are attractive and they have all said they will be be working... One of the funniest ones was when one of the girls said she wont be going to the clubs but hey if I wanted to call her that would be quite alright.
There are many, many girls here looking for your dollar at the moment so please fellow mongers don't inflate the market. Already I am getting many regualrs who have put thier prices up to 700.000 rp for the night, this has gone up in just the past two months as it used to be 500.000 rp also to the other extreme please don't insult the girls by coming through and offering them 50.000 rp for a short time. Quite a few girls are not happy with the drunk westeners who are offering $5 for a ST. This isnt Thailand so the prices are different and it just pisses the girls off and makes it harder to get the old prices. Well thats my preaching for the moment.
Enjoy Ramadan

I have read a lot from this forum and I just wan't to know where to find some actions in Kuta at the day time. Most of the actions in Kuta happened at night according to the reports. I promise to post after the visit. Do you have any idea regarding my question?

Daytime in Kuta
In all honesty I am working during the day so I dont really know that much about the goings on in Kuta. I would suggest you look at Kuta Bugar, Bali Massage, Kuta Timur for Massage and if you are lucky enough full service it just depends on the girl.
If you are after the better looking girls who go to bars etc, normally they don't wake up until after 3pm by which time they will go down to the beach between Kuta and Seminyak. They will normally be there until about sunset when they will (if they havent met someone) go and eat and then sleep until 10pm where they will then get ready to go clubbing...
The other alternative is just walk the Jl. Legian or Jl. Kartika and girls will ask you if you want a massage... its then up to you to negotiate further.
If you have read as much as you say all this information has been over the past 3 pages
Good Luck

Daytime in Bali
I was leaving Kuta and at the lampu merah. (Stop light). I looked out my window at a balinese lady on a moped, and rolled my window down and said
wooo chantik, (wooo pretty) and smiled. She smiled back , followed me into Bali Bakery, we had lunch, when to her Kost, room and fucked all afternoon. I fliped her 150,000 rp and away I went.
Afternoons are what you make them. As the good Professor said just basicly get out there and look. If you want it just ask....the worst that can happen is she will smile and say "no".
