LA Cafe = lots of girls, and all of them are on the game.
Havana Cafe = much less girls and not all of them are on the game.

I stayed near Havana Cafe and I must have passed through several times. At times there was no one. Later in the evening, maybe a few average, but none worth picking up.

EDSA BF p1200 - p1400. Tip much more on top.

I plan to stick to EDSA / LA Cafe on my next visit.

poopbunny. thank you for all the great advice! i'll let you know how it turns out. thanks for the info comparing ac to manila. i went to edsa once and there were few exceptional ones, really the only good ones that night, were at the firehouse. the good one i bought a drink for wanted some high amount for tip like you paid only she would not commit to stay lt, only that we'd both see how it was going. in other words she'd be out as quick as she could, so i passed on her. once did one from la cafe who was great and i paid her very little. i paid her based on ac prices, not knowing manila prices.

Had a 1 day overnite stay in Malate as I thought I'de check out the bars. Stayed at Exec Plaza which I think was ok for the price. A typical 3 star hotel (slightly tired rooms, but altogether not too bad, the AC was shockingly loud though, but the room was on the higher floors and facing away from the street so didn't hear the street traffic, I was impressed with the bathroom though. I Was v. Disappointed with LA cafe again, the quality of girls was phenomonally low there, 90% looked real deadbeat and had that hardened pro attitude which I detest. The last time I went to LA cafe was in November, I met a girl at Havana (Makati) who was a real looker, and we headed to Nirvana for some dancing / drinking. Met up with a white woman (of all things! ) with her pinay sisters in law, and she wanted to go to LA Cafe (WTF? ), anyway to cut a long story short, it was crap then, and its still crap.

Didn't have the energy after the long flight to check out G-Point, but it was a good place from memory the one time I did go there last January.

Talked to the girls upstairs in Beppin San (its across the junction from the 7 Eleven next to Exec Plaza. They looked decent enough, but I felt too much pressure to go in and I chickened out. Seemed like a typical karaoke scene where you pay a lot and don't get laid. Hrrrmmph.

Malate is a dump in my opinion, too many touts / and ugly girls on the streets, basically not much to keep a monger like me happy (I am a big Greenbelt / Cafe Havana fan, where I think some good quality can be found without the economic outlay of P. Burgos.

Well more of a report. I went to La Cafe and found two decent tiny chicks and took them home for a 3 way. I went in a few times and it seems the girls are pros. So I agree. I don't like that. I did find a few chicks from the banks and stores around. But I did find I had to put some work in. And then I could not shake them and felt guilty. Where as when you pay a few there is no tie. Go figure. I spent the whole week in CityState Tower hotel. Its ok. But I plan to return in just a few short weeks. My question is. What nice province is close to Malate? I would like something that has nice women and not that many white people. I went to a few bars and saw a few expats and whites. I am white and I don't wanna see any other white guys till I get home. LOL. But I am wanting to go where we are a little more desired. Do you guys feel me? Help me out.

i was in manila last december. stayed in executive plaza. nice clean room and bathroom. save place to walk to la cafe. the opinions about la cafe here are true. but there are always some hidden gems laying around. i went to la cafe that evening. few stunners. almost hooked up with one pretty lady with 1000 pesos talent fee. but i decided to go upstairs to check the view. wrong decision! i should have left with the pretty lady. yes there were really stunners around the corner where most of the asian guys hangout. there where also few white men that looks like bank managers back home. on the far corner were some middle eastern guys. one lady caught my attention but she was with the company of some asian guys. so i decided to enjoy the band first before i hookup with any of this pretty things. the band that night was really good. i enjoyed the music. i was standing by the mini store right after you come up the stairs. i enjoyed chatting with the waitress who was manning the store. she was really nice and easy to talk to. stupid move as i am not there to make friends but to fuck some nice pussies. we had fun though and i enjoyed her company. i bought a pizza and few round of drinks. manage to get her phone number. i ask her if she could drop by my hotel on her way home. but she said only if i call first. ok fine i will call around 5am when she get off. but i was so tired and did not wake up until 9am. missed my change. the following night, i was on my way to la cafe again but this pimp caught my attention and promised me pretty girls. he even have a picture of them. so out of curiousity we went off. he lead me to a few bars. women came out on a lineup, all staring at me. i was kind of shy and did not want to choose anybody. we went to two more bars and i said ok lets head back to the first and take the first pretty lady that i liked. 18 years old apparently but she looked like 16. took my chances. i know i was stupid. in summary, i did have a blast in manila. i will certainly stay in malate again and would return to la cafe.

Best bring with you. Know of no sex toy outlets in Manila (Filipino's are prudish about these things). There is a place in Angeles called Red Hot Collections located at 1 Zeppelin St, Hensonville Subd, Malabanias, AC but their website is down so I don't know if they are still trading, but they were a few months back.

I know (biblically:D) their young female agent in Manila. If you PM me, I can give her YM and CP No. She will sell you sex toys and then let you use them on her and much besides. She is a very naughty girl ;).

Does not look like it, GE, but when do they get the chance as the place is going round the clock, and would involve cleaning round customers!!

I think that they are going after the nicotine brown look a la the brown cafes in Amsterdam. You would really think that with the amount of turnover and profit the place must make, its owners (who are the shadowy owners – anyone knows but surely highly placed Filipino’s?) would invest a little in the decor of the place, which has not changed one whit in the many years I have been visiting. Christ, the number of times I have seen beer knocked over on those rickety tables that are squeezed in too close together.

There are however, few places to match it for character and liveliness on a going night, which is most nights. And what other place in Manila is going full tilt, 24 hours, 365 days a year. And the turnover is so rapid. Apart from the usual suspects that you will see in there every night without fail, there are always new girls and amateurs who perhaps appear a few times and are never seen again. This kind tend to hide in the shadows being new and a little shy so you have to learn to spot them quickly and move in. Surprisingly most guys (and certainly new visitors) do tend to be a little overwhelmed, and hang back, waiting for the girls to make the first approach. So they tend to be easy fodder for the older, more experienced and hardened girls who are used to making the running, and miss out on the younger, newer girls who are waiting for you to approach them. Better for me ;).

There is only one other freelance place, that I know of, in Asia that had the similar seedy, character filled allure of LA Café. And that was the old underground, Thermae Coffee Shop in Sukhumvit, Bangkok, which was demolished in 1997. This place was the ultimate role model for the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars. It was the wildest, nuttiest place I have ever set foot in (through the back door toilet area of, course!) and is much missed on the Bangkok scene. The new Thermae is sterile and tame in comparison. There are also other competitors such as the Beer Garden in Bangkok and Walkabouts and Martini’s in Phnom Penh but nothing to compare with the old Thermae. RIP ;). GH

I've been to Walkabout and I've been to Beer Garden, and while both have their tawdry charms, neither approaches LA for pure seediness and pure ambiance in my opinion. I don't think I ever got to Thermae, though I might have. My early days in Bangkok were a blur then and are mostly a blur even now.

I do agree with the importance of checking the shadows where the newbies lurk. I once met a stunning Chinese/Filipina there many years ago simply by checking the darker corners.

In Malata, there is a shop that sells toys that fronts as a cake shop on Adriatico next to the Pan Pacific Hotel. It will be on the side toward Robinson Mall.

But interested in the old Thermae where I spent many a debauched and dissolute evening/morning, so if you do ever get round to learning how to operate a scanner (no rush, concentrate on mastering your zimmer frame first), I would be interested in viewing the result.
