But today she sent me a message where it says you have to verify you DR sim card till 12 June or they cancel your acount. I looked into it at the orange homepage and indeed there you can verify your sim or something, but with my malo spanish skills I do not understand it 100% and I can't verify because I do not have a dominican cedula LOL.

But her message said it concern all dominican Phone carriers.

Anyway I lend the sim card to friends that was travelling to the DR, which recharged it there, to keep it active. Until my next trip I will go on with that or recharge it online because there is NO WAY I will spent my time again hunting a sim card in Puerto Plata. Last time was a pain in the ass. Besides that I have 2000 Pesos Credit on the sim I do not like to loose. And Flights from Germany always bail in at late Hours in the DR and I like to stay connected and online when I hit the ground.

Here in Germany I only can use the Orange Homepage because I did forget to activate roaming when I was on the Ground and here the Sim Card does not conect because roaming is not activated. But that Link on the Hompage give me an Error when I type in the Number of my Passport which I used to buy that sim.

So does anyone can tell me if I really must verify my sim till the 12th June on their Homepage and if so how can I do it without DR Cedula?

The sort where you have to insert "minutes" before making calls. If you have a contract or "plan" it does not apply.

(2) It applies to all service operators in the DR, Orange, Claro, Viva, etc.

(3) If you have a cedula you can do it online.

(4) If you do not have a cedula you will have to go to a main office of the company with your passport.

(5) If you do not verify your phone by 12 June your account will be cancelled. Presumably you will lose your number and any stored minutes, though I have not seen that stated anywhere.

I have a "normal" prepaid (prepago) Sim Card from Orange on which I can add Pesos I can use for Calls, SMS or Internet.

The only question is whether the fact you showed your passport at time of purchase will suffice for the new system. I'm just curious. And I don't need to name names. You guys know who you are. But why is it you guys keep jumping to the defense of chicas / women in the DR?
