Don't know why some sources have "butchered" it.
Pronounced something like Wan AR-sar-la-ha Buu-char or AR-sarn-ha Buu-char (two alternate ways). This day is 8 July this year. Alcohol cannot be sold and most bars will close. However on a recent Buddhist holiday Wisakha Bucha some bars were open, probably not selling alcohol (officially) and perhaps only after midnight.
9 July is Wan Khao Phansaa (Monks go into the Buddhist Lent retreat) also to have bar and disco closures and no sales of alcohol. So you may be stuffed for bars and beers, however, there will be freelancers girls on the street. The massage shops will also be open. So no big deal.
Your hotel fridge will still have beers I guess. I normally don't drink alcohol, so no big deal for me.

No trouble letting a property sit empty till you get your price.

However, if I'm paying 2000-3000 and service is anything less than great, I get a bad aftertaste. It's a waste, a poor decision. That money could have been used either on a reliable oldie at a PSE like Tulip, or a different experience altogether (could have gone on a mini-holiday halfway across the country for a weekend for that much money). That's enough money to feel I want a guarantee things will be at least pleasant / standard, it's too much to just toss and see what happens.

When 1 k was 25 USD then a flop was no big deal. Let's put Golf, Dao, and Ying from Tulip as 10's on the scale of 1-10 for PSE experiences for arguments sake. Now, I realize that not every gal is going to provide a 10 on the PSE charts, but I certainly do expect a 7 or 8 if I am paying 2-3 k, whatever the venue might be. To pay that kind of money and have a gal complain or ask you to finish after 10 - 15 min is just ridiculous. And personally, if they pull that with me they are not getting their 2-3 k.

Might and is cheaper than HKG and SIN, bit we talk about two worlds apart.
I can't see bkk as a financial center, nor as a corporate hq location.
So I am still wondering who is going to fill all those new buildings?
Day 1.
Land at BKK a litte after 10 pm. Over 24 hour of travel time. Make it thru immigration, exchange some money, grab my bags and hop into a cab (300 b) to a hotel on Sukhumvent near Asoke BTS.
I'm pretty tired at this point but I check into the hotel, take a shower and hit the streets. I'm around the corner from Soi Cowboy.
I walk in the entrance of Soi cowboy. This is my first trip to Thailand. My jaw drops. I walk thru soi cowboy and amazed a place like this exist. A few girls try to drag me in but I've already.
Decided I'm going to Crazy House first. I exit Soi cowboy and turn right (I've been looking at google maps for the last month and have a map of Bangkok in my head) to Crazy House. I walk into.

I realize that kind of flies in the face of what the general buzz is here and elsewhere. But there it is. Why is that happening? Imo, the primary factor is that damn smartphone with the Line app on it that I've got in my pocket. LOL. The technology certainly has its bad side with regard to the P4 P scene in Thailand. But it is a double edged sword. There are major upsides as well with the favorable edge going to the good in my experience.
20-25 years ago when I routinely traveled to this part of Asia and spent a week or two in both the Philippines and Thailand, it was well understood and oft discussed among my fellow punters that the girls in the Philippines were more loving and romantic while the girls in Thailand were more aloof and mercenary. And, man-oh-man, every trip to and from each country proved that adage to me time and time again. I liked Thai girls. But the language and cultural differences were just too great for me to enjoy much more than a rather strict and formal P4 P experience with them while my experiences with Philippine girls was so much more lovey dovey and romantic.
When I decided to move to Thailand in retirement instead of the Philippines about five years ago (mostly because of issues like better infrastructure and lower crime), I fully expected I would travel to my beloved Philippine ladies quite regularly for that Lovey Dovey Romantic fix. Yet, I have not gone there once since I moved to Bangkok because I have been steeped in loving and romantic attention from Thai girls since I moved here. No, certainly not in every case. And there are glaring and blatant examples of P4P disaster here as anywhere. But it turns out Thai girls are starved for fun-loving and romantically inclined men who send them cute "love you" stickers to their Line account. They were probably starved for that kind of attention 20-25 years ago as well but I didn't have the smarts or the technology to make it happen. Consequently, the sex scene for me back then was not nearly as satisfying and rewarding on a personal level as it was for me in the Philippines.
However, I am now communicating with Thai ladies, including P4 P girls from go-go bars, freelancers and non P4 P girls one meets on dating sites and around town, in ways other than by handing them money and pointing to an entry on a menu. Smartphones and Line type apps allow me to communicate with them through their hearts and emotions, ways that simply were not as easily available to me 20-25 years ago. And, not surprisingly in my experience at least, it really has made a positive difference in the bed.

Perhaps you simply dislike traditional venues and freelancers?
However, it takes a blind man not to see the overall decline. In addition, trawling online has almost no advantages for the savvy punter except over a street or bar scene. Online, prices are almost always higher (set at the level an average mug would barely accept, not what a decently-presented expat could negotiate), we don't get to evaluate actual looks or chemistry, and spend way more time, in less enjoyable ways, compared to looking for girls in person. Looking for a hooker on a smartphone is about as fun as waiting for a bus, except that it takes longer.
Most importantly for me, when browsing a decent in-person venue, I feel I'm [I]choosing[/I]. Online, I always feel like I'm begging or at best, trawling the bottom for someone acceptable.

It's just a story (or rumour) I am reporting. I did not see the police raids recently since I have not been there. If the girls stays out of Soi 4, I don't see that she is going to get any financial advantage from it.
Putting a street girl into a bar at a much higher price does not improve her service, it is just going to make that girl less likely to get a customer.
