Gringos one surname, Colombianas two surnames
Travel agent in mde booked me and my novia on a copa domestic flight, she had my 3 gringo names [eg robert james smith] the ticket came back as 'robert james', and 2 of my novias 4 names on her ticket I questioned her and she said 'no problem' [I have spent enuf time in so. Am. To know that 'no problema' means 'muchos problemas'] I phoned copa and they said 'no way' wud I get on the flight, but ok for my novia, so with arguments with travel agent she had the ticket corrected to 'smith'. Further discussions with another travel agent and with copa at the airport here is the 'story'. Gringos with 3 names, the last name or 3rd name is required on all flights, domestic and international. Colombianas with 4 names [2 first and 2 surnames] [eg Anna louisa santos ricardo] only one surname required for domestic flights eg anna santos ok [that is what my novias ticket said and okayed by copa for the domestic flight BUT international flights require both surnames [eg santos ricardo]
