Wendella, you mentioned that you thought there was only a remote possibility that a girl's photo on this site could cause trouble for her in the future. I disagree. I think it will probably cause problems for her. With all the anti-sex NGOs in Cambodia, you can be certain that they read this site religiously, and "saving" girls is part of their agenda, so they can publicize their rescues and get donations that will help them buy more Lexuses for their executives.

The NGOs also will not hesitate to get the police involved, don't kid yourself.

Posting these girls' faces also, as you implied, makes them vulnerable to blackmail.

I think it would be very interesting to make a study of this. Take all the pics someone like Johndao has posted on this site showing girls' faces, and try to find out what happened to those girls. Are they still working? Or did they disappear?

i haven't been there in 2 or 3 years (when i used to stay at the paris). but when i was there, there were maybe 15 - 20 girls. i think they start early afternoon. afternoons seem to be a good time to see many girls. many girls were ugly, but i thought there were several that were between 6 - 7, maybe a 7. 5 ocassionally.

detested is not the correct adjective. the girls are not detested. many provide for their family; many are single moms. many volunteer to go into the business to help their family (parents and siblings). i have great respect for them. although i hate the cambodian cultural view that the girls are either "good" or "bad".

criminals? not exactly sure if "providing" is illegal like thailand, but obviously prostitution is "legal" in every sense. i don't read about girls getting arrested in any of the bars / clubs mentioned; i don't read about managers getting arrested for having barfines. although some girls were forcibly rescued from massage paylors. only illegal thing might be sometimes the streetwalkers are arrested; but that's because they create a nuisance in the sense that their presence gives the area a bad image.
