Yes, I would consider retiring in Makati
Would you retire in Makati? Why? Makati is a part of Manila, not Thailand or Angeles.
This is my opinion only. Yes, I would consider retiring in Makati. In fact, if I were to retire full time to the Philippines, Makati is about the only place I would consider for living out my days. In particular, I like the Rockwell Complex right next to the Pasig river. There is a big, nice Mall across the street (Power Plant Mall). P Burgos street is a very short cab ride away. No jeepneys allowed on the property. Although they do run closeby.
I guess the primary reason is that if I did indeed retire to the Philippines, I would want to be as close to First World living as possible. Makati and The Fort (close by) would do the trick.
I always wondered about Makati
I always wondered what it would be like to retire in Makati. Every trip I make. And I see those drop dead gorgeous women. There are a lot of beautiful women. I went to yoga there, and phew!! And walking down Makati Av. , lunch time. Phew! I did some research. Best is to buy a condo there. Makati has one of the highest returns in Asia, in terms of rent.
