As soon as we got to El Conuco restaurant I marched them right to the buffet area cuz wasn't no way I was going to let them order a meal off of a menu. The total bill was less than $100 so it was no biggie. Actually we all had a really good time and I was not the least bit pissed.

Looks like a lot of us have experienced the same thing and at the El Canuco. Quite a few years ago I invited a girl to the El Canuco she brought your Mother and Father, called her 2 sisters and their husbands to meet us there. She tried to convince me to buy a Lexus and leave it there so they could keep an eye on it and I would have my own car to use when in DR. Ah right.

I invited a Casa Australia girl to el Conuco last year. She reviewed all menu and the asked: donde estan las pechurinas con papas? (where are the chicken nuggets with fries?) This girl will prefer BQ Ribs menu.

These girls are good, thinking on us to have cars available when we travel.

She works at La Parada Bar, almost next to hotel Jaragua. This bar now closes on weekends an hour later than a week ago, 3 a.m. I do not know if they get a special license or if the law has changed letting them operate till 3 am.

LOL, you a mess. You need to be writing comedy instead of posting on ISG.

Like I have said in the past it took me awhile to learn these chicas don't appreciate a good meal at a nice restaurant. Anything more than a plato del dia or maybe a sandwich from a "chimi" stand is a waste of money.

Did I ever tell you about the chica I took to Adrian Tropical on the Malecon. We had a lovely table right on the cliffs overlooking the Caribe Sea. The menu comes and the chica goes straight to the pescado section. Instead of reading the left column she scans down the price column and wants to order the most expensive fish dish without even know what it is. I think it was blackened fish she would have been ordering. I just shook my head and laughed to myself.

Play it safe, feed them ham n' cheese sandwiches day and night..............

If for some reason you guys do take a chica to a nice restaurant you are better off ordering for her. A lot of them don't understand a menu. Anything more than 12 selections in a pico pollo they are completly confused.

Another story BQ, this one from my July trip. I went with two 19 yr. old girls to a restaurant you recomended: Chef Pepper, by the way, good restaurant, thanks! I ate a tasty and juicy ribeye there. We went on the yipeta (suv) of one of the chicas, which is a distribution manager of a bottled water plant. While looking at the menu the girls were straight to order the main dish, they are not used to a full course meal. I ordered chicken fingers with a sauce as appetizer. They tasted the sauce and said "hey, this sauce is so good, what it this?" I tasted it and replied "it tastes like honey mustard" . "Honey mustard? What is that?" . "Una mezcla de miel y mostaza (A mix of honey and mustard) ". They were like how can a mix of honey and mustard can taste so good. They asked the waiter: "What sauce is that?" his answer: "honey mustard". I was like a celebrity to the girls, they were amazed on how much I know. I ordered a salad for the girls so they can have their full course, and we shared a dessert at the end. They wanted a pie, I suggested to add ice cream. Yes!!!!! a pie with ice cream! they replied. So I said to the waiter "I want an a la mode pie". The girls rapidly replied: "hey but you said we were ordering a pie with ice cream, not with that mode thing! " LOLLOLLOL!!!

It seems the girls have moved from Western Union to cars.

The funny thing, as I mentioned on the Sosua board, is that mom, and sometimes grandmommy, is young enough to do as well. Grandmom might only be 50 or so, which for a dirty old man like you or me is O.K. IF she's cute.

When you take Avenida Lincoln north, past Avenida 27 de Febrero, the road will fork, to the right will become a street called Avenida Lope de Vega.

Chef Pepper Restaurant is off of Avenida Lope de Vega on Avenida Gustavo Mejia Ricart. Also on that street near Chef Pepper is Praia disco, which has a 500 peso cover charge and is populated with young, rich Dominicans. Within a block of Prai is Cats which is a small bar with about 6 chicas and a curtained off room where you can have a chica dance in private for you for 500 pesos.

Near Chef Pepper, about two blocks away, is I believe a place called Stilletto, which seemed to be a popular normal bar.

Off of Avenida Lincoln, north of Avenida 27 de Febrero and before Avenida Lope de Vega are the bars on Avenida Roberto Pasoriza, including Zambra.

Also between Avenida Lincoln and Avenida Tiradentes on the southern side, east bound direction, of Avenida 27 de Febrero is GBP. (Avenida Tiradentes south of 27 de febrero on the Google map is called Avenida Alma Mater.

If a guy goes to Chef Pepper Restaurant, there are a few places near that restaurant for some fun.

I enjoy going to bars and places to eat with female wait staffs. Years ago there were many around Avenida Churchill and around were the Post Office is located now. I've not seen many of such locations on my last 2 trips. It does take time to get close to the chicas but I like doing that. Any other suggestions. The Cats bar sounds like a place I need to investigate. I do have a cousin, a Dominican by birth who spends time between NY and SD. He always takes me when we met up in DR to places I did not know of before so there many locations for action that are not known to the casual monger or change for time to time. The problem with that is I get stuck with family members who always want me to be with them.

Avenida Lincoln north of Avenida 27 de Febrero has some good places. Lincoln Road Restaurant looks like a nice place, it is not small and I have read that the food is good there. Close by is a new Adrian's Tropical Restaurant, which I have read serves better food than the Adrian's on the Malecon.

Near those restaurants on Avenida Lincoln is one of the newer more expensive hotels in Santo Domingo, the Holiday Inn. Modern style looking hotel, with a roof top pool, owned by the Intercontinental Hotel Group, the Holiday Inn on Avenida Lincoln is more expensive than the Intercontinental V Centanario on the Malecon.
