I wouldn't characterize most of the Chinese places. More like many of the Chinese places in Shinjuku and other places where there are touts that act more like hustlers than touts. Many Chinese places I have gone to are run by Japanese and they give you the straight stuff up front. I've always been adamant about the full cost up front and make this very clear and I have not been hassled for more in mid stream. I see them frequently in Akaksaka getting out of Lexus' and Mercedes Benz's around 5 or 6 at night scurrying into high end clubs that I will never be allowed into. Super high end, captain of industry or politician types are the clientel.
