I visited the freelancer bar Thermae (Sukhumvit) at midnite on a weekday. It was just to investigate as I was a bit tired. It's the first time I have checked out this place so it was kind of exiting. As I entered I had a softdrink for 60 (baht. Lots of girls, maybe 75, fewer (presumably) punters, maybe 35. They don't interact much though. Are they all "shy"? Only about ten of the girls may be called pretty.
I went around and chatted up four of the best looking ones. Left side: first said 2 hours 2500, second said 1 hour 3000. Right side: third said 1+half hour 2500. Fourth ignored me. So 3 out of 4 nice ones wanted to go, that's pretty good. But high prices indeed. About the last one (probably Asian only), she differed from the others by not returning my look and smile, so the turn-down was no surprise. Still, I just wanted to try it for the interest. (One punter standing nearby loooked a bit surprised on this, I don't know if he thought I was silly or brave, LOL.)
I might return on another night. I wonder: are the prices negotiable? At what time is this best done?

Some of the women, maybe a quarter, seemed easily approachable or approached themselves. What do a good looking lady ask for here? St / LT. Are other clubs better for this? Yes, I know I should have investigated this myself, but I wasn't really up to it this night. And it takes some time before one can bring it up I guess.

You can likely negotiate time easier than money. For some Thermae girls if they like you they will hang out with you by going to eat, clubbing, etc. well after your session and into the next day until they have to wake up for their day job.

These two places are way out of your league. If 2,500 is too much for you then you better head over to the beer garden on Soi 7 or do an oily for 1 hour such as Snow White or Tulip. They I think come in at 1,900 all inclusive for 1 hour. Some decent looking freelancers will take 2,000 but anything lower will be sacrificing on looks in my opinion. Soms heaven BJ bar wil also do a 1,700 Baht session and there are a few lookers there. Maybe Pattaya is more to your budget.
The levels freelancers will ask you from 4-6K at least and 2,500 will be the bottom price at Thermae. Honestly, guys like you are why the Thermae girls are not happy about White western men. That's why they sometimes are rude and look the other way. Happy mongering Charlie.

No need to be so patronizing. About 5-10 years ago or so, 1000-1500 was enough for ST at Thermae. That's 20% inflation, while other prices haven't changed much. For a long-term expat, 2500 for what often ends up being a quickie seems actually outragrous. Sure, I'd be happy to pay it for a proper multiple pop session with someone really attractive -- but that's often not the case.
Being a "cheap charlie" (trying to pay a fair price) does not negatively affect other mongers -- overpaying and accepting lousy service in return does.

The op is wanting to enter a high end place like Levels for example but his budget it no where near what it needs to be. There is no point comparing prices today to 5-10 years ago. You will just become frustrated with inflation.

In a free market, any girl can ask whatever she wants, and if someone pays her price then that's the end of it.
If a guy refuses to pay a high price on principle, then he is the one who misses out. She will wait until a buyer comes along.
There is no way this process will change unless nobody pays her price, and then the market will force her to change. Disgruntled punters wishing for 2005 prices in 2017 just have to accept that women are now feeling more empowered to follow the market.
Thanks for the info. At the moment I just want an overview over the freelancer market (for example Thermae and clubs like Levels). And it's important for me to check that the prices I have been quoted on the ground are the regular going prices. I don't necessarily have a strict budget, so it's not the case that I'm not willing to pay high prices if that suits me.
I am already experienced in the massage parlour options, so yes, I know the prices there. I'm not experienced in the freelancer options in Bkk, so I'm getting an overview now.
As for Levels, I didn't find most of the girls there that hot anyway (As I noted above, I could be willing to splash out a large amount for a really hot one). But of course the opinions will vary a lot regarding this.
I will investigate further by reading more on the forum as well as doing my own research for details on options, places and times.

I am doing my part in fighting this ridiculous inflation these days and not taking any girls to my hotel who won't agree to accept 2000 for ST (which I think is still too high, but fair). Seems absurd since I normally spend 6000 baht or more on drinks during the night, but it's the principle of it. I have to admit that I normally do give the girl more than 2000 if she is good to me, but I don't like to be forced into 2500 for every shag.

Girls will want 3-4 K ST and up to 6 K LT. YMMV and you may be quoted more or able to negotiate less. Much cheaper than Mixxx or Spasso.
Pricey, but most are nice middle class girls and only do one customer per night. Also some semi pros too.
Maybe a little on the old side here. Late 20's to early 30's. Not a lot of early 20's girls. Not always easy to find a girl that is hot enough to justify the price (as one of the posters pointed out).

He obviously knows these places cost more and putters around in them for no reason. There has been plenty of posts here regarding Thermae. I'm sure he's read the forum so he knows what the rates are there. However he still goes in window shopping and asking them how much well knowing it's at least 2,500. He also knows he's not going to spend that either. Then he asks a stupid question about Levels. Anyone with any sence can look at the place and will know it's goona be more expensive. He dam well knows he's not willing to pay 2,500 and he thinks Levels is goona be cheaper? Hog wash!
In the end, everyone wants to pay less but then there is reality and the reality is that you will be hard pressed to find anything decent as in hot spinners in Bangkok for under 2,500 in a go go bar or freelance bar. For that budget, I already outlined some good choices but he is dead set on the higher end places. So be it but the girls will see his cheapness from a mile away and won't care to talk with him.
Next time, I would suggest he outlines his budget for Bangkok mongering and we can happily tell him where he can get the most bang for his buck!
