Most of the girls do not appeal to me, although there are always a few who might under different circumstances, but I really dislike the weird, sterile (good description), environment with everybody just standing apart, with minimum interaction between the sexy doable girls and the guys. It seems kind of juvenile and adolescent to me. Both Go Go's and massage parlors coming at it from different angles and approaches provide better opportunities, better odds of success, and more fun IMHO. The NE Asians ruined this venue. Left Pattaya to BKK for my last 5 nights in Thailand. Made a pass through the MP zone around Phrom Phong BTS station last night. I've walked by it in the past, and if I remember correctly there used to be "girls" (mid to late 30's) outside calling out to punters. I guess they are no longer the famous place for the older-ish women? I finally went there last Dec and it was truly miserable. Granted, I got one of the last girls before closing!
I just don't understand why we hear so much about this place? What is so special? Is it cheap now, that's why? I've been to BKK over the years and had some of the most AMAZING experiences with soapy message. What is special about Thermae when there are 100 X other places which put this to shame IMHO? What am I missing?
I live and work in HCMC but will be in BKK Aug 15 to late Sept.
I'd love to meet up with another hobbyist in BKK who can show me the freelance scene. I did the club and FL scene outside Nana in 12/2016 and found it fantastic, far better than the current bar / club scene. It's a little closer to real pick up / GF situations IMHO, as many of these girls are a bit picky and have regular day jobs. Last time I was there, which is about 2 or 3 years ago, they were still there.

OK, maybe not all of them were lovely but they were young anyway. If it ever was a famous place for the older-ish women then that must have been before my time.
There's nothing special (anymore) about Thermae. Nowadays the girls there are focused on Koreans and Japanese for the most part.

I have been several times at Thermae and confess that I like the big choice there, although I agree that many are uninteresting (at least they behave so) and even fewer go with caucasians; However I always found one, I am, for sure not Apollon (, am 69, overweight but-I think I can say that- a nice guy which makes the girls confident. Smilng and kindness, non rush, some appreciate this.
I would propsoe at least two reasons for men liking this place: first, there are supposedly no LBs (this would be a disaster to me!) and second is that the girls look "girl nextdoor". I have not been to BKK before, after reading some of the post in this thread, I immediately plan for a trip to BKK in few weeks time.
