I initially read the guide (all 12+ sections, both the original and the update), and it was clear that you put everything in the locker and take a robe with the key. But other reports in this set of threads had guys commenting on using (or being prevented from using) cell phones and cameras in the boite, and lots of guys saying they got phone numbers from the girls (need to write them down, no?). In my mind, this means that some guys had stuff with them, not leaving everything in the locker, so I was looking for clarification on that point.

I try to read almost everything before bothering you guys with questions I'm sure you've seen a thousand times already.

No worries. It's a common monger thing, not just limited to Rio termas. If it helps, I just plan ahead. When you're wearing a robe (eg in 4x4) it still has pockets. Or if you carry nothing, you can ask the barman for a pencil and a piece of till roll to write a phone number down.

I've done this in the past when just popping in spontaneously. But for a planned visit I generally have either a small bag (that will fit into a robe pocket - something the size of an airport liquids bag) or a small waist bag.

Let's say at the outset that you should never take a camera (or phone camera) out in the main public area. Don't try to con 4x4. Just play by the spirit of the rules. My small pouch, which I would only ever take out in the private room with the girl, contains things like my very compact camera, pen & paper, my own favourite brand of condoms, and anything else I might want for the up-close-and-personal time. If I plan to use a pen & paper in the public areas, I generally just keep them separate - and loose in a robe pocket. (In venues where you keep your valuables, I have a miniature pen that fits in my wallet.)

In copa termas, you have to be super descreet about gettng a girl's number. In fact a girl can be fined or fired for giving out her number and meeting a monger outside of the terma. In the central termas, they could care less and you could walk right up to the bar and ask for a pen and paper.

Indeed be careful when getting a number. But nobody is goig to frisk you or grt excited unless you do somrthing stupid like pull out a camera or try to take a picture in the boite. I used to take my cell phone in the robe pocket, no problem. That is a really easy way to get numbers.

But even if you have nothing to save the number, she will get it for you if she wants to. Once, a garota carved Her number in one of those little bars of soap. Now that is innovation.

It varies a lot, but generally I think you need to know them -- especially the stars -- to get a number. Or maybe really impress them that you are OK. The further down the scale the easier it gets.

I get a fair number of these offers but have very rarely followed through. They spend most of their days in the terma so you would have to schedule around that. Or you can try to get them out after closing time. It always seems a bit of a hassle since there are so many options. And anyway, what is the objective? Try to get her a little cheaper? Start a more real relatuonship? It will get more complicatred.

But don't worry about what you take in your robe pockets. Just use common sense.

I have just arrived back in Rio after almost five weeks on a nasty boat. I'm fried tonight and all I want to do is sleep. Where would I find some action between say 7 and 9 am on a Saturday morning? my hotel is not GDP friendly and require an extra payment for visitors. As my room is direct bill it would show up and I don't want that. I understand the termas don't open until around 4 pm by which Time I will be at the office working my but off. Any suggestions.

Back in the days when I would go to 4X4 I would take my Nike gym sack (the bag with the drawstrings that you carry on your back) from the locker room and into the boite with me. That was before these small ass digital cameras came out. In my bag would be my video camera, SLR, and tripod, condoms and other adult accessories, pen and paper, and cell phone. (Of course the cell phone would never have a signal inside of the building.) Never a problem. If you don't have a writing instrument then the girl will use one from the waitress or bartender. But remember what Bravo said, Copa termas don't play that shit.

Or just restart the browser before letting ANY guest go on it, not just gdps!

Not sure about IE since I haven't used it in ages but the latest version of Firefox has a "private browsing" feature that you can turn on before going on your p4p or any other special sites. No browsing history or password is ever recorded in "private mode."

Or you can use an alternate browser (Seamonkey, Chrome, Safari) for checking out p4p or other "special" sites while keeping FireFox and IE for mainstream browsing.

If the above sounds like too much or you have no clue what I'm talking about, the easiest thing to do is to create a secondary account on your system for any guest who goes on your computer; but I prefer a combination of some of the above just to be on the sure side.

Can someone tell me how to get to 4x4 by subway or bus. what is the best method and where do i get off. i have always used a cab, but this trip, I will need to save money with the exchange rate below 1.7. Lets hope for a rebound by August.

I am a total daytime specialist.

But you are talking about the worst possible time. 7 am to 9 am, on a Saturday?

Girls used to be at Nogueira bar, between Barbarella and Cicciolina bars. But probably till 6 or so.

Vila Mimosa, which I don't recommend due to filth, is open 24 hours. But don't expect much at such an hour.

Scortshow and karlamodels open some time around 8,9, in the morning, but maybe not Saturday.

Some cheap brothels open at 9 or 10, also better massage parlors like Flaviamassagens, Belprazer, etc. Again, Saturday is an aggravation.
