[QUOTE=Tomjackin]I'm a retired navy guy with 27 years of service...mongering mostly in Asia, Middle East, and Africa. I have been to Brazil a couple of times and really liked it. Other places on that side were Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Trinidad. But, now I'm starting to look in my own back yard, TJ, to get my scheduled maintenance completed. I live in Pacific Beach and been in San Diego off and on since 1977. The few times I went to Mexico, I ran into trouble with cops pulling me over and of course, I could pay them for the ticket. So...I have been hesitant to go to TJ...that was until my second and last divorce! Plus, after a expensive trip to CR with all the girls asking $100 per hour, TJ seemed to be a better choice for scheduled maintenance.
I can thank Xxnegrito and Onewinglow for my first trip to the Zona a couple of weeks ago and I was pretty impressed that the amount of ass available only 30 minutes from my apartment. When I first walked in HK, I felt like I was home...can't recall the last time I sucked so many nipples and played with so many scratches in years...I was happy. Ended up with a street hottie with an ass from hell...a well 20 bucks spent there. And yes, for any extras, there was a $10 charge. Could use some recommendations for the street ladies.
On Friday, the 14th I came across and got a room at Hotel La Villa De Zaragoza for about 42 bucks...decent and quiet room. I headed for the Zona about 3pm and the streets were full of lookers. I went into HK and the place was full of hotties, and not too many men. As Doslunas mentioned in another post...early is better, or so it seems. While sitting at the bar, I spotted Tryra across the room and she came across and wanted to play. She was tall, with a killer smile, Angelina Jolie lips, and a great rack to boot. She was very playful, grinding, and then kissing...which a enjoyed. After about 10 minutes if this, I felt kind of guilty and asked..."Should I be buying you a drink or something?" After the drink, we went upstairs. The woman was hot...BJ without condom, any position I wanted, and anal was included.
After that, it was street taco time and once again Xxnegrito and Doslunas were right on about the corner stand on the west side of HK. After that I wanted to check out the street scene some more...love the corner with the school girls. So back in HK for some more fun. Sitting at different bar, the there was a dark skinned chica named Marlen that was dancing on the bar. When she got done, she slid off the bar and into my lap...it was nicely done. She played and grinded for about 10 minutes. She has beautiful black nipples that were very suckable. I was suppose to meet a fellow coworker (non-monger) at 8, but it was only about 5, so I had time to take Marlen up to a room. Another hot lady, but no anal this time...but still a blast.
I stopped in Chicago, the place was dead. Then I stopped in Adelita, which was hopping with hotties...this was about 6:30 or so.
Met my coworker at the casino at 8 and the plan was he was going to show me the non pro side of TJ, but it turns out, he did not know much at all except for the discos on Revolution...which I already knew about. BTW, Revolution Ave. was dead on a Friday from 2:30 pm to 2:30 am. I'm not sure what hurts TJ the most, the cartel or the new passport requirements...either way, the place is hurting.
Anyway, after dinner a decent Italian restaurant in some shopping mall, my friend tells me he has a friend the knows the Zona pretty good so we pick him up and back to Disneyland we go. Turns out, because of Xxnegrito and Onewinglow, I already know more about the area than he does. We went to HK and there was a cover charge, which included one beer. Not real sure of the price, the dude took my 20 bucks for 3 people and gave us 3 beers. I ran into Xxnegrito, who was cuddled up with his favorite girl, and Onewinglow at his bar location. At about 11, the place was packed, mostly with men groping their own dicks...it was time for me to leave. I got a chance to meet Doslunas at the infamous taco stand just before we checked out the street action...which was abundant.
We headed back down Revolution towards my hotel because my friend's buddy said that Club Platinum was really good. About half way down on the left, there was a new strip joint that opened, so we went up to take a look. There were a couple of lookers in there, otherwise the place was dead...this was around midnight. Off to Club Platinum, which turned out to be close to my hotel. No cover, and really no business in there whatsoever. There was one hottie that sat with me for a while and during the translation, she said she got off at 4 and would spend the night with me. But hell, after two women and drinking since 2pm, I knew I would be passed out by 4. The server brought our drinks and informed me that my margarita costs 8 bucks, and this was the point when I asked, "Does this include a freaken BJ?" I took my time sipping this damn drink.
I got back to the room about 2:30 and left for the border at 10 on Saturday morning. There was only a five minute wait (walking) to cross.

Tomjakin - Great post and welcome (back) to TJ! Yup, it's not perfect but for those of us in So Cal, it's a good place to go and have fun. There are many fewer gabachos now than there used to be, and my observation is that this can be boiled down to three factors:
(1) Perception of violence in TJ. While TJ is no Ciudad Juarez, it does have its share of narco-violence, and this is heavily reported in the US media. Most Americans that I speak with are absolutely terrified of Mexico and are convinced that they will be shot within five minutes of crossing the border. But you saw firsthand that, for most Mexicans, it is life as usual. It is for us mongers as well. Just be careful (but no more so than you would be in the other countries you have visited) and don't get involved in drugs
(2) Passport requirements. Yup, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) which was fully implemented about one year ago has turned a lot of people off international travel. It used to be that a trip to TJ was a casual thing. People would visit San Diego from, say, Nebraska and spend an afternoon and evening in TJ, using just a driver's license to cross back to the US. Those days are gone, and now virtually everyone needs a passport to cross back to the US. Some states have "Enhanced Driver's Licenses" now that lists US Citizenship, and can be used at the border. However, California isn't one of these states. Since only 20% of US citizens possess a passport, the new rules effectively weed out 4/5 of the population from a casual trip to TJ. This is both good (for prices) and bad (for selection) for mongers.
Helpful hint here: US Passport Cards are available for only $20 + processing fee and are good for land border crossings; if you apply for one at the same time as your passport book then you pay the processing fee once for both documents. They are good for 10 years and fit in your wallet. These babies are a TJ monger's best friend!
(3) The economy. While it's getting better, money spent in TJ is entirely discretionary so these types of places always get hit the hardest during bad times. Combine with #1 & #2 above, and it's been three negative shots to TJ in the past 18 - 24 months. Revolucion is a shadow of its former self with many stores closed for good. The artisan market at the bottom of the pedestrian bridge is only about 1/3 occupied. Restaurants in the tourist area are empty, and even Adelita's (which used to be crowded even in the afternoons on Thursdays and Fridays) doesn't really get moving until 7 - 8pm now.
Problems with cops persist, and it's an endless debate about whether to drive or walk across the border. Walking is definitely easier, and it's also much safer. You can just corss over and grab a taxi right to la zona.
Clip joints on Revolucion are mainly for the unwise, untrained gabacho. They exist to separate you from your money as quickly as possible. Yes, they sometimes have some hotties, but nowhere near the number that AB, HK and LC have. Ficha (gir's) drinks are more expensive and, even though FS may be possible, it's more expensive. Best to just steer clear of these places unless you just want to chill and have a beer in a quiet environment (most of them are now dead most of the time.) and maybe watch the show.
OK, amigo, that's it for now. Looking forward to reading more TRs from you. Stay Safe
