The Philippine people and business will suffer more than the goverment will, most foriegner will think twice to book their next trip to Manila after seeing how the manila police handle the hostage, what happen in Bejing is out of the Chinese goverment hand but the Philippine goverment should able to handle the HK hostage better, they are now the laughing stock in the world.

What proud Philipinas rather work the bar back home than working at a nice home in HK to stand up for their country come on ,most people in PI hate the government and the police and everyone want to leave this shit hole to other country for a better live and I don't blame them ,if this country are willing to help their people and clean up the corpution there will be more foriegn investment and more job for the people.

Folks, you have to remember that a lot of this is all coming from the Media.

Just think what an impression foreigners would get of us in our countries if they got their ideas about us from such sources as Fox News or any of the Murdoch tabloids from around the world.

In fact, I DO know people who quote Fox News as proof that people in the US are not quite right in the head. This is quite the opposite to how I have found people from the US who I have met personally and have quite enjoyed their company.

Very good point Econo...I agree...However, If we put things in perspective...we see this problem in all countries.. be they developed or third world....I'm from India and i always thought Indian government is the most corrupt in the world..
