I do not think I would be asking for girl's numbers if the quality wasn't there. However, I might add that if your interest is in women of color, Centaurus is not the place to find them. Centaurus also is a good place to get to know some of the wealthier locals.

Centaurus is by far the best!
You have to pay for the best! If you can't afford it, the other termas are available. They have to good quality too! Just not as good as Centaurus.

I've never been to Centaurus, and I have no intention of ever setting my foot in that terma. My friends who went there all said that the quality was good, but not spectacular and definitely not worth the price.
As someone wrote on Gpguia regarding Centaurus: "Tudo caro. Coisa prá gringo desavisado ou burro."
However, to each his own.

Just shows you cannot always believe everything you read on the internet. I certainly am not a promoter of Centaurus but the fact is the primary clients there are wealthy married Brazilian businessmen. From my conversations with them many are visiting Rio from other parts of Brazil. Over the years I have come to believe that the pricing and the attitude toward gringos is purposefully designed to dissuade many gringos from going there. The same issue as brought up about gringos visiting the downtown casas.
If you want to socialize with some of Brazil's movers and shakers it is a good place to find them. If you want to pay R$450 for 40 minutes with an attractive good performing light skinned girl, you can do that too. You also can go there, hang out, listen to some live music and get a few of the girls' numbers for later.
However, my opinion is that just because you are paying more, doesn't mean you are getting more. Sometimes, you are just paying more.
I and four friends hit Centaurus a while back , first time for all of us. It is a great place if you like the Brazilian thick thigh body-builder type. To me they look like Travesties. None of us wanted to program with any of them, after a while the girls started doing body builder poses, they looked so butch my friends started to pretend to be gay for a joke. The whole thing was funny but surreal. Don't know if it was a bad night , only went the once , but none of us rated any girl there higher than a 7. After Centaurus we all went to Help, much better selection there, I think we all pulled someone from Help

I bought mine over 8 years ago to protect my son from predators on the internet it's called "Child Safe" by Webroot. But I think the original poster mentions free software below.

Considering that Help closed earlier this year, was this back in January? I only found decent selection during the summer (i.e. Nov-Feb) months. I assume that Help's replacement (currently Balcony Bar?) would have similar seasonality.

There are plenty of stunners, for a fraction of the cost of a Centaurus Garota, in the other termas as well as via agencies. Centauraus is a clip joint, period.
Can someone that is vacationing in Brazil report on what the cambios are giving. Oanda.com is showing 1.80 and xe.com is showing 1.85. The dollar is soaring with all the fear from greece. Lets hope it last for my August trip.
