BUT not in Ukraina. I am afraid it might be too late for Ukraina.

Prices are so expensive in Moscow because the place is awash in Petro money which drives all other portions of the economy and brings in a lot of foreign interest and business.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money don't go to Moscow, Saint Petersburg or Kiev.

I don't remember ever seeing private calls from Ukraine numbers. Maybe when you guys try to do it doesn't allow you to make calls. SIM cards are so cheap 5-10uah just go out and buy a new one if you need to make discret calls or you are a stalker.

My UMC err, MTS SIM card has worked in the US, England, Switzerland, Netherland, Spain and Germany.

Telos, why doesn't your Blackberry work in Ukraine? Is it a US CDMA phone with no SIM card?

I guess the mobile phone was bought in Germany and it works fine even with Kievstar card. This is true for all the european mobiles

Blackberries work also perfectly in UA where both EDGE and GPRS networks are well supported. "Worldwide" means that the RIM services (basically mails and synchronization of basic services like calendars and task lists) work everywhere in the world for the same flat right. Calls ans text messages depend on the card and its carrier.

The problem is that an US SIM card typically works on different frequencies and then you have roaming problems here. Putting a local card (assuming that your specific blackberry model can work on different frequencies, as most of the models do) requires anyway full reconfiguration of your blackberry (and loss of everything you have in). If you really want to use it, make a backup and go to a local technician, if you are not able to reset and reinstall all the BB facilities by yourself.

However, you seem not to grasp my problem. Anyhow, it was my problem until now. I just bought a sim card from LIFE, a UA mobile phone provider. Reason for that: my favourite girl friend over here is on LIFE and that way I can call her free of charge non stop.

I asked the girl Olga in the shop to hide my number. Olga spoke good English and was very helpful and finally successful. Nevertheless the whole procedure took a good 20 minutes incl. Olga asking her local boos and sitting in the waiting queu for LIFE hotline.

Now my other devushki contacts cannot sse, that I am in their country and instead I can easily pretend (for tactical purposes), that I am still in Germany.

Less money then where? they are given accomodation the fare (they repay that) and get to earn money. (more than they would in Ukraine, I know three girls who have bought apartments and cars and live very well from a tour of duty to Cyprus once a year ;o) and its all done legally for them visas are given to the girls by the Cypriot government not like trying to sneak into western europe.

Many people do not understand the economics in EE countries vs western countries. Let's say the demand for pros is not elastic in EE countries while it is elastic in non-EE countries. What does it mean?

The girls in EE countries no matter how much they ask they will have the same number of clients or slightly increased or reduced because only rich people can afford to pay these prices. There is no important middle class only bottom, low class which cannot afford any price and high upscale rich class which can afford every price. So when the magnitude of upscale class increases that is when due to increased oil price more people become rich the prices of pros increase accordingly because there are more people who can afford them. They catch with the minimum, I cannot explain that exactly.

In western countries the middle class drives the prices of average prostitution (not models, famous etc). So the prices balance where demand meets offer and they seem more reasonable because they are formed according to middle class wages, their main supporter.

Simply a girl in Kiev who asks for 300$ per 2 hours will make 300-600$ on average per day because this is the limit set by rich people demand. The same girl in Cyprus can ask for 150$ per 2 hours and will make over 1000$ per day because she will have 5-10 clients per day because there are a lot of middle class people who can afford her. If she asked for more, like 300$ for 2 hours she would make less because fewer than 2-4 clients per day would want to have sex with her due to other chances set by girls offer and because they cannot afford such a price. So the best for her is to set for a lower price while in Kiev if she accepted 150$ for example instead of 300$ she would not have so many more clients per day as to compensate the damage because in Ukraine simply there are not so many people of the higher class.

Not only that, but there is also the sun and fun factor for girls.

Who wants to be stuck ho'ing in Lugansk, Kiev or where ever when you could be hanging at the beach in Cyprus. You have to remember Ash, the center of Kiev is not representative of the whole Ukraine.

If u have a Ukraine Sim card (Kiev Star, UMC, Jeans or whatever) it is NOT possible to hide your number when you are making phone calls with it.

This option is blocked by all providers!

If you bring your own Sim card from for instance Germany you can Roam into the Kiev Star or the UMC network and u can hide your number! The person who you call in Ukraine will see a standard Ukraine number in his or her display when u make a call with your German Sim card.
