Went to Walking Street last night only to discover all the usual action spots closed until tonight at midnight due to elections or some such baloney. Seems like this happens fairly frequently here in Pattaya and I'm always the last person to know.
Is anyone aware of an accurate calendar list of these annoying events published somewhere on the net?

My vote goes to girl friendly LK Metropole or LK Renaissance at Soi Diane it is centrally placed between Soi 6 (North) and Walking Street (South).
On days that you might not be bothered walking that far (20mins), there are even pubs across the road.
Starts from about B1800, but if your stay is not long and can afford it, go for the Deluxe (or even the Suite). There you would experience opulence you can never find in Western Europe for anywhere near that price.

no not all hotels are gf have a look on the pattaya hotel section of the board plus you can also run the names through a search engine .

always book a double room however if the hotel is not "girl friendly" you will still have to pay a joiner fee.

no, not all hotels in pattaya (and in thailand for that matter) are girl friendly. some may request a "joiner fee" (b500 - b1500) and some may impose restrictions on use of facilities by your "guest" or may demand that they leave the hotel before a certain time in the morning.
almost all budget hotels (daily rate b1000 and below) are gf. some are really just guest residences rather than hotels and don't care who you take to your room. they may be clean but facilities may also be basic, no pool, no breakfast inc...etc. the choice for most long term stay residents..like months.
there are only a few upmarket hotels in pattaya that will tolerate your "guest".
i have not found a comprehensive guide or list anywhere, just to odd posting on this forum or other forums as which hotel was gf or not gf
lk was one that met my specification standard, with reasonable rates and yet not charge a joiner fee. all beds are double/king sized. i think they may request an additional fee to cover breakfast if you brought back 2 girls, but i never did. they would request your "guest" leave her id (or his id, in the case of "ladyboys") . this is really a good thing and for your protection so you don't get ripped off. i was talking to one of the concierge about the girl scene, he said he could arrange a hottie for me if i did not find any in the bar scene. will post my adventures soon.
the impression i got was lk was actually a development group that sold or leased upmarket apartments but also had their finger in the hotel scene ie. lk metropole, lk royal suites, lk mansion and now lk renaissance.
see attached map. (i believe soi metro on the map is aka. soi diana). you should bring this with you to help the airport taxi's find it. renaissance is just further down the road (about 50m) from metropole on the same street (soi diana) but not always visible at street level from a taxi. my taxi driver missed it the first time around and had to get directions.

i was a bit suspect about a yahoo e-mail but it is valid.
do bring / print out email of your reservation. when i arrived, they screwed up my reservation and thought my departure date was my arrival date. they did make up for it by upgrading my deluxe room to a 80 sqm suite with 2 large screen tvs for only b200 extra, a real bargain. only at the venetian macau had i experienced this opulence but that room cost me us$350+ per night.

I had 3 days and nights in Pattaya. I had one girl per night. The first 2 were from Secrets, neither of them stunners but I was happy with both. I really liked the place. I met the Mamasan and bought her a drink which she reciprocated. First girl was Su. She was a little hardened but good fun. I enjoyed being with her.
My second girl was Dow. She is a real treasure. A beautiful GFE. Highly recommended. This was on the no-alcohol night so I learned I can enjoy a girl even more when totally sober.
In between drinks at Secrets, I visited Angel Witch and was very impressed by the show. It is of course mostly erotic but it merits a recommendation as entertainment in its own right, a really professional production. If you get there when the numbered girls are dancing on stage, just hang on and after a while the real show resumes. Very highly recommended.
I also visited Baby Dolls to see what a more basic Pattaya go-go bar does. It involves a lot of very hard green bananas, oil and two foot lengths of what looks like domestic pipe insulation, this is used by the girls to whack each other on the bottom. Good sound efects and hopefully not painful.
Unlike at Angel Witch, I was surrounded by dancers vying for my attention and took one away (LT like the others). Going with a dancer is something you have to do at least once. Something to do with having what guys have been lusting after.
I haven't been to Thailand yet. My friend says that Pattaya is known as Thailand's wildest city. Is it crazier than BKK and other cities? From what I've read about the bars, girls, etc., it seems kind of comparable. Agree? Disagree?

How about the sabai lodge new wing. Price not bad and GF.
Also at the LK Metro asked for long term rate because my stay was close but not long enough but they did give me the rate. Just ask.. Also stayed at the five star but that hotel is a 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 Star hotel. Staff was nice but hotel leaved much to be desired LOL..

Based on some of the pool pictures I saw that had LBFM swimming in them, I would say those hotels are probably GF, but you should e-mail them and ask.
The rates did not include breakfast. If I was going to spend B1600 without breakfast or B1800 for a much nicer room with American breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages, etc) I know which I would pick.
I normally have breakfast quite late and skip lunch then I have an early dinner or a lunch snack then a late dinner.

I was told, Angeles City, Philippines.
IMO, girls may look a tad better but the place lacks upmarket dining and decent hotels. The "luxury" hotel are no better than standard hotels in Pattaya. It sort of looks a bit like Pattaya in its infancy. Angeles City may also be a bit of a pain to get to.
When I met up with fellow monger LukeSkyWanker, he had planned to go there, but changed his mind at the last minute because of "logistical" difficulties in either transport/accomodation, so he ended up in Pattaya instead where I met up with him. Will post full report later.
I can also recommend Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand. Its like a smaller version of Pattaya.
