I'll be damned, you're right. I see Manila abbreviated as Mla all the time, so for some reason I thought it was the airport code as well. Thanks for the heads up. It's funny my travel agent never pointed that out to me.

Thanks for the correction...so has anyone tried PAL business Class to Manila?
Hmmm, what information might this guy want.....???
First time you posted was asking PAL (biz class)/America TO MNL, but now you deleted "US/Canada" and just PAL to MNL(biz class).
I've flown PAL international this year....but not biz class. Biz class is much better than economy, but you already knew that.
They have old planes. None have recently exploded into fireballs upon landing as a China Airlines flight did in Okinawa earlier this month. I guess you already knew that.
The flight attendants are much less irritating than the US airlines. Well, you probably already knew that too. What do you want to know?
Once flying across the pacific on a US carrier, I had a seat with no light. No problem, I had a window seat. Or so I thought...
Annoying ***** attendant: Sir, please close your window.
X: My light is out and I want to read this book.
B: People want to watch the movie.
X: I'm not interested in the movie and I don't want to sit here in the dark for the next ten hours. I want to read my book.
B: Blah, blah, blah.
X: OK, just bring me a new bulb.
B: Sir, blah, blah, union rules, blah, balb.
X: I'm not asking you to change the bulb, I'll do it myself.
B: Sir, that's against rules...
X: OK, sorry to bother everyone. (closed the window)
As she walked away, I opened the window.
***and that isn't my worst flight attendant experience on a US carrier!!!
BTW, just booked a China Air flight. Lots of cancellations lately. If there is a fireball, I won't be able to post here anymore. If you think you'll miss me, just send $500 and I'll be able to afford the JAL flight.

Actually, you're wrong. MNL is the airport code for Manila, Philippines.
Could someone refresh my memory. WHy does PI sound bad for some Filipinos?

Thanks XMan, you're funny. I will give PAL a chance on my next trip in October. Sorry, don't have 500 to spare.
Don't why PI sound so bad to Filipinos... I left the country 27 years ago and have no issues going back for a visit or even retire there someday. Some people just easily forget there humble beginnings... I guess.
Looks like I will be joining a friend in Cebu around oct or Nov of this year, This will be 1st time going, can any of you guys point me to the best deals on airline tickets (round trip) from California (LAX)
Thank you

I have flown PAL business class in country 10 times in the last four months and it is a big difference. In economy class it is elbow to elbow and they give you a box of juice or cup of water and a sari-sari snack pak, but in business class, they give you a complete meal and awesome service.
FYI, if you book a regular ticket and go to the airport to check in and ask to upgrade to business it is around 535P to 1200P. Most of the time I only pay 535P to upgrade.

I fly Business Class every time I go between Davao and Manila and it makes a huge difference. Fast check-in, decent seats and service, and I'm off the plane and out of the airport very quickly. It's worth the small difference in price.
sorry, my question was worded poorly. if you say pi ([CodeWord134] aye) rather than "philippines" there is some issue with that. apparently it sounds like a tagalog cuss word or something.
i've heard this from a few people.

Hello guys,
I want to fly my honey ko from Philippines to Vietnam, either Saigon or Hanoi, for some serious rumple rumple while I am on business..
Does anyone have experience with discount airlines over these routes?
Cebu Pacific does not cover Vietnam.
Any others?

There are no discount flights to Vietnam that I know of.
You might want to check Tiger Airways but you have to fly out of Clark to SIN then onto SGN.
PAL flies nonstop from MNL to SGN.
Hey Guys! I am fairly new to Cebu but I am going to be working here for a while and I need a guide. I live in Mandaue but will be relocating to Soong, Mactan. Send me an email with contact info.
The only experience I have had Mongering is in Manila at MP's and a few KTV's. I like the info on meeting up at malls.
And by the way, anyone know where I can find Guiness on tap around here? At least in a can. The bottles really suck!
Thanks

I'm going to be AC between these dates. It's my first time in the Philippines although I've spent time in Prague and the FKK clubs and had a trip to Thailand earlier this year. I would welcome the opportunity to meet up with any forum members and share experiences over a beer or two. If interested then PM me.
Cheers

Ahoj Normane,
Byl jsem taky v Praze i taky v Brne. Preferuji Privaty protoze Kluby jsou moc drahy. Nebyl jsem v K5. Je zajimavy?
And I will be in Angeles city from fifteenth to twenty eighth Sept. I normally hang out in Mo's for breakfast (It is great for watching the world go by). Look for the balding middle aged Aussie with glasses.
