Yeah kinda like pharmacy, but probly more intense, never heard of it, may not check it out as I am not into getting beat up over women, men are very protective of their women here. I checked out a so called prepago hang out in 33rd, not very active bassiclly you have to contact the owner and he gets you a girl.
Price seems high one girl wanted 200K for a few hours and was not very attractive! I think its gringo prices even though they swear colombians pay them 400-800K I laughed.
Ok well, in my never ending search for chicas, I have stumbled across the source of some of the chicas for nancy, and famous unnamed place, mostly independent chicas from belen and centro ect. I saw only 2 prepagos there, but again the owner asks you what you like and the girls arrive. He has some quality I saw only 3 girls, but many of these independent chicas think were fools, one plain looking girl wanted 200K for a couple hours, which is basically saying after sex if I am bored I leave!
Another girl I met there I actually got into an argument over price at Lindas Chicas, her 400K fee was alittle high for me, bottom line I didn't get anything I refused to pay their fees. Some of these girls really think that I would belive some colombian pays them 300K-400K, they even told me their are independent girls charging 500K and upwards, I luaghed very hard but the proof is in the pudding, so I took the one to San Diego so she can see what type of girls are willing to work for 70-80K (their cut) she was kinda shocked as she has been to False Dose before but never san diego, I explained how a few years ago it was alot cheaper then it is now, and I explained how the girls have to work from 10PM to 4AM the multa and fees charged, for the 200K your asking me I can call one of these girls on Monday or Tuesday and get her all night with out restrictions for the same 200K! Of course she defended her outrages fee with nonsense reasoning, but bottom line was many girls work from 10PM to 4AM screw 2 guys or more dance 2 times on stage to hopefully earn 200K in 6 hours of work! Who knows if anything got through their thick skulls, but going home with just taxi money may have been sufficent. I was just tired of these huge prices and wanted to put some reality in their face!
I've asked this question a few times and can't quite get a handle on the true answer.
Some have sent me to sites that say it's low to mid 70's there, all year round, and I've seen posts stating that it was really hot.
Who knows?
I'd really like to find out what temperatures might I expect to find in Medellin during the period of Mid April?

April is one of 2 rainy seasons. If it doesn't rain mid-afternoon and the sun comes out, it will be 80. With rain and no sun, it may not get much above 72. A light jacket for late nights might be needed.
Outside of the rainy seasons, it can get very hot from 3:00-5:00 pm in the sun. As soon as the sun dips, it cools. I have no air conditioning in my house. I do have a fan but haven't used it.

"really hot" is subjective. I guess depends on where you're coming from, and how much you sweat.

The way it was explained to me is that since Colombia is so close to the equator, the climate of Colombia is generally constant (i.e. there are no noticeable seasons). However, Colombia has the full spectrum of weather from oppressively hot and humid to cold, rainy, and snowy all on the same day. The variable that accounts for change in weather is really the altitude of where you are. The beaches are at sea level and are hot and sunny (e.g. Cartagena, Baranquilla). Bogota is high in the mountains so it's usually overcast, cool/chilly, and unpredictable rain. The valleys (i.e. Medellin or Cali) are a happy medium and have mild to warm temperatures all year round. As I'm sure you're aware, Medellin is known as the City of Eternal Spring; they're serious about that. When I was in Medellin the high was pretty much 25-27C (77-81F) my entire 10 days. I don't know what the low temps were but it never got cool enough to wear the light jacket I brought. A few nights I remember wearing long-sleeved shirts and that was more than enough. I know 10 days is hardly an authoritative sample but everybody I asked there gave me the same explanation and insisted that it's like that all year long.
I researched several web sites about the weather before I went and encountered what sounds to be the same things you found. I couldn't make sense of them. On the same day, one site would say that it was snowing and cold in Medellin and then another site would say it's mild and nice. I think they either got some wires crossed or maybe there's more than one Medellin. The one in Antioquia state/province is the Medellin you want, in case there's any doubt or confusion. In Medellin, a couple nights, I saw thunder clouds rolling in but they never really made it to the city. The city is in a river valley and the thunder storms dumped their water on the surrounding mountains. Lightning over the ridges were pretty.
The weather in Medellin is pleasant. I prefer things on the cooler side so I always had either my room' air conditioner going or the windows open for the pleasant breeze that always seems to wisp around. Some nights I just slept under the sheets, and others I actually had the a/c going so well that I had one of the light blankets on as well.
Medellin is known for commercial flower production so it would stand to reason that they've got their flowers growing in a constant spring climate. Their Flower Festival is a big 2-week hootenanny and takes place in early August, not in May or whenever one would think a spring flower festival would take place.
As a matter of fact, the main international airport is about 45 minutes out of Medellin proper via taxi. The airport is on the plateau of one of the mountains above the valley where the city is. It was sunny when I landed but actually chilly. The drive down is a winding mountain road. It starts off in pine forests then about half way down, there is a noticeable temperature change. The forest turns into more temperate species like eucalyptus. The taxi driver and I talked about the noticeable change in temperature for a few minutes when we hit it. The view looking down into the city is beautiful.
There is an airport in the city but it's smaller and I don't remember seeing big jetliners using it. They mostly seemed like turbo-prop regional planes.

Coming from New England, I suppose it will be about 10-20 degrees warmer, depending on the day, than where I'm from.
I just posted this on my Lima thread and thought it might be interesting for you guys who live in or might be visiting Medellin and want to come to Peru for some decent food.
Lan is starting flights from Lima to Medellin (and vice versa) in May and the price is right. $200 round trip from Peru. Might be even cheaper from Colombia. Got to purchase the ticket before April 13 and travel between May 15 and Nov. 30.

Apparently she was unpleased with where I took her, and the fact that she left with out money, although honestly she didn't look upset that night, but sure didn't sound too happy on the phone. (these women are excellent fakers) I told her she shouldnt have expected anything becuase it was our first meeting, and there won't be a second one so she doesnt have to worry. I kinda felt bad about her being dragged out of the house to meet me for work and not get paid but what can you expect when you want 200K (weeks worth of money) for 1 or 2 hours. Plus she wasnt that pretty, more plain looking then anything eles.
Prostituion is a tough bussniess anywhere in the world, especially for us "johns" this has been a tough stay in Colombia normally I find one or two cutties who are cheap and tariffic in bed but not this trip! I found some nice girls who suck in bed, some kool girls to hang out with also not great in bed, and I am finding more greedy hoes, who think I am stupid! I think its getting alittle harder to find resonably priced good chicas. I wll continue to try!

BUT on the other hand I know they have some kind off push to talk service because ive seen people using it. As far as cell service it IS available but only with like special QUAD BAND phones and its like $2/min plus taxes.. But every time I get off the plane and turn my Nextel on, It teases me because I get (5 bars) but it says "restricted service"
