I arrived to Vienna today via train this morning from Budapest. First of all, what an amazing city! It's so beautiful here. I've been all around the world and this is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! It's ironic that I didn't plan to come to Vienna and just decided to make a trip here from my trip to Budapest. I'the recommend that you skip Budapest or only go for a few nights. I'm SO glad that I decided to take 2 nights out of my trip from Budapest and come here instead. If I had to do it over again, I'the only spend 2 nights in Budapest and 5 nights here in Vienna.

The train ride from Budapest is very easy and about 3 hours. The train isn't nice like the Eurostar but it's ok for the short trip. A taxi from the train station to the hotel was €16. On the recommendation of the concierge at the Sofitel in Budapest he recommended that I stay at the Hotel Imperial. I booked a suite with a King size bed and it was €350 ($475) per night so a bit pricey but the hotel is VERY nice. I prefer more modern but its true 5 star. The building is very beautiful with old world charm. The bathroom is very nice and big. The location is EXCELLENT! You are close to everything. There is a small shopping mall across the street but there are no good stores. Mostly fluff but they do have a small supermarket downstairs in the mall with excellent cheeses and meats.

The weather is absolutely fantastic! I have been out all day on city tours and walking around. I bought a Metro day pass at 5€ for 24 hours but I don’t think I will need to use it much as the location of the hotel is right there close to everything. I did take it once and interesting to see that they don’t have any turnstiles so I’m not sure who paid or not. What a trusting system. The city is totally gorgeous and probably one of the most architecturally beautiful cities in the world.
