Though, regarding which generation I am when I refered to the fact that I am 4th generation, uhhh...no, don't feel superior. Where did you get that?

I currently live in Beijing, China and as a matter of habit, I sometimes let my local Chinese friends know that I am 4th generation Chinese American. The reason being is that a lot of people in Beijing can't understand why I don't speak fluent Mandarin (among other things!). When I mention that I am 4th generation American, they start to see the light.

It is sometimes the case that my local Beijing friends can not figure out if I am an American/Foreigner or Chinese. They are confused.

I am just trying to explain that I am an American Citizen who is ethnically Chinese. I guess to a Frenchmen, if you say you are American, it doesn't matter.

Today I got by chance that a lot of mongers are looking for: an amateur!
