Thanks Sonic, I just Googled it so know which hotel it is and will try it. Not far from me. Is it obvious who the hookers are in this bar, like do they come on to you like the girl in Bahrain did, and how much should I expect to pay for ST and LT? So I don't get ripped off!!
Think Krossroads mostly a Philippinos meeting place. May not be obvious who would like to do business. There also use to be some Chinese ladies and it is obvious what they are looking for. They will make eye contact and you will not misunderstand. I was there yesterday; crowdy, band, dancing. Chinese ladies keen on doing business before going on the annual Ramadan break.

Stuck in Doha
Stuck in Doha for a day. Nothing to do. If any experienced mongerer in the city has time would love to meet up.

First Doha pick up
Well it's only taken me 5 weeks to start my new season in Qatar.
Watched the football last night at the Radison sports bar, then went up to the 9th floor to continue drinking with a friend a few Chinese WGs again and this time the standard had improved. Then after half an hour in walked a girl and I recognised her!! What, I've not been with a girl here so how can that be then realised I knew her from Dubai. Had a chat with her on the way out and yes I was right I knew her from Seaview but why she was here I could not work out? (Exchanged numbers for future entertainment).
I was with a colleague he suggested he introduce me to the Qube, well all is possible in here, with discretion. A few nice girls mainly Chinese but this was not the weekend so I was pleasantly surprised. Long story short ended up with a leggy Chinese (unusually tall) and actually went back to her place which was also unusual for me but felt safe and was a tidy apartment. Nice girl, very friendly and a good time had by all. Left her after a couple of hours to find a taxi in a strange city. I guess I may have taken some risks but I was very discrete.
Well the 'duck' is now broken so who knows where I will get to!

Ladies use to say "too much ladies" as business could have been better. Guess more than 90% of the WG in Qube use to be Chinese. I'm sure at Qube you could pick up girls twice a week and it will take more than a year until you will have to repeat. Think most WG are on visit visa and go to Dubai for renewal of visa. Not sure but might be a challenge for ladies get visa for Qatar.
You have a comment about risk. I believe Qatar is quite safe without (to my knowledge) involvement of LE. There are places for expats and more hidden places for locals. As for some neighboring countries a lot of people are coming in from KSA for a beer and other pleasure.

The Qube

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the Chinese girl? I assume it was ST as it was at her place? I'm looking for a LT (overnight) at my apartment but would be up for a ST at a girls apartment. I've been here a while and know the city and the bars well, but I'm just not sure how to pick up the girls and negotiate what to pay! I'm a seasoned monger back home but I've not yet broken my duck in Doha although I did in Bahrain recently.
Cheers,
DD
Hey Tartan,
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the Chinese girl?
Expect asking price of 1 k or above and then you can counter. When busy like weekends more difficult to negotiate. Just before closing easier. At Qube a lot of ladies so easier to negotiate etc.

DD
From my experience in Doha the PRC always start offering at 1,500 QAR, which is ridiculous. Since the supply seems to exceed demand, you have a strong negotiating position and should pay 800 QAR on average and never above 1,000 for PRC LT. My last trip I paid 800 QAR and they barely resisted that. Probably pay less if you are a resident since you can assure them of potential repeat business if they perform well and offer a fair price. Not sure what Filis go for but I imagine it would be the same. I'm sure CIS babes cost a bunch but never looked for them.
Scorcher.

First time in Doha
For all those who were asking she started at 2 k but soon agreed at 1 k, which I know is maybe too high but I had been drinking and hence negotiating skills were depressed. Will certainly start lower the next time I get the opportunity.
Has anyone found any Kaz or Kyrgys in Doha?
Stay safe,
Tartan

Ramadan started in Qatar
The place with most ladies, Qube, had already decided that yesterday was the last day before Ramadan. The decision was taken several days before today request to sight the Ramadan crescent this evening. Googling now tells it will not be possible to sight the Ramadan crescent today and Ramadan most likely will start Sunday.
As Qube is closed this evening the airport is full of PRC going back for a break in China or going to Dubai where bars are open during Ramadan even though there are restrictions regarding timing and music. By the way the music restriction may also have some benefits as it is possible to talk.
I was at Qube yesterday and it was packed as it was the last day before Ramadan. All bars are closed in Qatar during Ramadan. Being the last day it was crowded and market price around 1200 meaning some paid more and some paid less.
I left Qube after midnight and when driving out of the parking the lady next to me got nervous and said drive, drive. I didn't understand but was told later that the car more or less blocking the exit were with LE people. Of course I noticed it was difficult to get out as a large van with two persons including a lady in abaya more or less was blocking the entrance but due to much alcohol or other reasons I didn't think. Think the lady driving with me in the car was more experienced and more observant in these issues and I trust her comment later that 100% it was LE. Might be more attention as close to Ramadan.
Of course those in the other car clearly notice who were in my car but nothing happened. If it was LE in any case being white might have been an advantage for me. It has happened before driving from Qube and the road was more blocked and my passenger told me that most likely police and that I should go right before blockage.
Of course there are WG in Qatar during Ramadan. But without a meeting place like a bar it is difficult. Local expats are aware about that fact and may have contact numbers however coming in it might be more difficult.

Ladies toys / Customs
Had a ladies toys courier package stopped by Qatari Customs. Timing just before Ramadan was probably not an advantage as they may be more on alert. Shipper had used ladies toys as subject which might not help either. Health products which would have covered the item pretty well might have been better.
I use Aramex / Borderlinx a lot, mainly from the US and notice that in a lot of cases the boxes have been opened by Customs. A few years back I think they opened everything. I have earlier got some dubious or borderline items through without questioning. This time I got a phone call from operator and responded that the item was a vibrator and that was the end of the story for my part. Whether the package goes in the bin or is being used some other places I don't know.
Not the same topic however it reminds me of a story a few years back. I was reading an American car magazine and there was a very interesting story of some pages but the end was missing. One page was missing. I was going back to the shop for a new example but still missing one page. Eventually I got the magazine outside Qatar and on the back side of missing page there was a picture of a lady in bra. Normally they used to color the rest up to the shoulders, however in this case the page was taken out.
In any case Ramadan for a month now. Take care. Don't smoke or drink water in car or open areas during daylight etc etc.
Please see from Time Out Doha today: "During the Holy Month, all live music performances and DJ sets will stop and most bars will only serve alcohol after 8. 30 pm. " I wish it was true, however I'm 100% sure this is not correct. No alcohol in bars in Doha until 28th or 29th July. Furthermore no meeting place with WG during next month.
I got stuck in Doha during ramadan due business duties, anyone knows any bar, hotel or place you can pick a girl in this period?
Doha dried up during Ramadan. All bars closed. You can not even enjoy a beer. To my knowledge no place to pick up ladies. Majority of PRC back to China for vacation. Never tried Massage Republic or other but you could try. You could have dinner at a Chinese restaurant and you may be lucky and make contact.

When writing previous comment I just had been at the Radisson Chinese restaurant and 2 ladies having dinner might have been a possibility. Been there later and no option to be seen. You could ask taxi drivers about possibilities. Several taxi drivers don't know anything at all as they just came to Doha. Most likely they don't know about options. Walking around City Center evening might be an option; at least it keeps you busy. I don't have any good advice to you.
