Can anyone currently in BKK confirm this. I have heard everything is the same....prices about the same.
In Rayong, where I live, prices are still the same as say a year ago, for example. I don't see any reduction at the few bars and massage places here.

Maybe the guy is also their pimp (very likely), but it's often a more complex situation than that.
I've heard phone conversations in Thai and several girls even admitted that the Thai man on the phone was not their brother or their cousin (as they may say at the beginning before they realized that this Farang can understand more of their dialect than they initially thought) but actually their boyfriend (or husband). Of course, the guy knows they are with a "customer". Sure, he may don't care much about it provided that their girl / girlfriend / wife earns enough money... but it's sometimes the girl herself who may want to spend the night with her pimp / boyfriend / husband. Believe it or not, they usually love their แฟน ("faen" = "significant other") and many girls often think that they have more fun with them (for instance, just because they appreciate the same things: movies / music / food, understand the same jokes, etc.).
Moreover, some girls even have young children staying at their place and don't want to spend the night elsewhere than in their own room / apartment and then, they can spend some time with them (I know at least one freelancer in Bangkok who is a young mother and won't do LT because nobody can take care of her child during nighttime).
But it's true that for many girls, one LT is just less profitable than several ST sessions and that's probably the most frequent reason. I just pointed out another valid one (among many others).

1St of all, thanks to Thailand lovers. And specialy to Mouse1 for re-writing my report. My this report is around 8 years old. This was my only visit with my friends. My other visits was alone. Thats why 1500 was lt for gogo dancers.
My 1st visit was in 1985. And I was inlove with Thailand and I say East or West, Thailand is best. Although I had visted many place in fareast. But I am treated as thier son-in law. I had visted Thailand many times but I feel its my 1st visit. Wow man. At that time there was no meter taxis and you have to bargain both, ladies and taxis. Thailand has changed but not the fun.
Regarding thai ladies drinking whisky, mostly they drink ladies drink or juices in bar. It cost you and money goes to gogo bars owners. But freelancers drink beer or hard drinks in discos. But I like women who drink whisky, because it make them naughty and more sexy, and they are not shy.

Believe it or not, some sex workers are desperate to get a real boyfriend and help them get out of having put up with ugly asshole customers. Some guys want to help them get out too.
Why hang out with sex workers at all? Not every guy is hiring a girl's time purely for sex.

Just a quick question for the seasoned mongers of both LOS & PI.
I will be in HKG with the opportunity to visit either BKK or Manila for 3-4 days next week.
I have been to LOS 3 times but never to Manila..... I however have met and played with many PI ladies in HKG.
So the question is..should I just go to BKK or should I venture to Manila and see it first hand. If it makes any difference..I will be travelling alone and without my wingman. Should I make a recon mission? Any MUST see/do in PI for such a short period of time?
Any pros/cons that make 1 better than the other. It seems from RTFF and my LOS experience that the prices are about the same for room/board and companionship. So I am looking for your esteemed opinion on which you think is better and why, or if it is really just 6 of this or half a dozen of that.

Men are often so dumb they allow women to "charge for sex" in many ways, and this "transaction" is classed as "normal life".

I treat her like a friend, and we have a respectful relationship. Just went round to her apartment this evening and she prepared dinner while I opened the beers. I did not mean to imply a reduction so much as that the old standards, which were beginning to slip away recently, can now be enforced again, namely 500 baht short, 1000 baht long in Pattaya, and 1000 baht (or even slightly less), 1,500-2,000 baht long time in Bangkok. I have no idea what are prices in Rayong; I cannot imagine going there with Pattaya being on the way.

Pretty much all bars are either closed or not selling beer tonight. Soi Cowboy appeared closed from the skytrain, and NEP certainly was. Strolled back towards Soi 11 and was quite surprised to see the streets very quiet as well. Only about 5-6 girls at Nana car-park. Gullivers quite quiet and either not selling alcohol or doing it surreptitiously. Assumed beergarden would be the same, but it was heaving. Standing room only. Perhaps the only place in BKK selling beer tonight?
Paused for a small after-dinner sherry, and met two young ladies who were looking for company for the evening, at a price that seemed right. Normally I find 3-somes pretty disappointing - the fantasy is better than the reality. But these ladies got the ultimate accolade of a place in my phonebook. :-)

I don't mind being seen with a lady who is working or is a freebee. Those observing me wouldn't know the difference. So I do have to disagree with those who feel they wouldn't be seen with them. Each to his own but I have enjoyed mine.
