Been a while a since I last posted a report. I have been indulging in the activities but for some reason I have been lazy in posting the experiences.

I dont know if the other person saw the email or not, guess time will tell. This is the dumbest thing ever because the person has already registered, why are you sending an email? Has anyone else encountered this?

And how the hell can they get your email ID through your Emirates ID? That also does not make any sense. And what did this email say?

Checked my work phone afterwards and a QR code for lift entry (which was not necessary) was sent by email. As my work email is attached to my Emirates ID, it was obviously sent to that. It did get me a bit paranoid especially as they have a separate desk to process IDs for "visitors". I think in the future, I will only offer my driving licence as ID or restrict visits to places that don't ask for ID. If it's compulsory to give an Emirates ID or passport, there's plenty more fish in the sea.

The email said visting for <my full name> and time of start and begin. Thankfully, there was no building name or any other detail mentioned.

I think I am going to do the same regarding license. Its a simple policy, you require Emirates ID, I am gone. Its bad enough to give the ID, now they are sending emails or god knows what not to email addresses. Bastards are so cheap because emails are free compared to SMS's.

No one should be surprised that things are tracked here but this is a step too far. In Sydney, I never got asked for even an ID, let alone registering. Same for Hong Kong.

Yes, it was a Damac building and I suspect the same one you visited and a huge number of WGs operate from there. I suspect they had a problem with some pissed-up punter being a nuisance which warranted calling the police and since then all guests need to be verified. Think I'll give that place a swerve now unless a driving licence suffices as I can do without emails being sent to my work email account.

You and I could be talking about different hotels, I will PM you the name of the one I went to.

Funnily enough, they had stopped taking emirates ID in the middle. So you could just walk in and I was happy that the insanity had come to an end. Sadly, it was short lived and they are back to their old ways, only more invasive now.

It does seem likely that the QR code was for the lift but even then, sending a SMS makes more sense than work email. In my case, I have handy access to my work email but lots of companies may not allow work email on personal devices. So sending access to lift that you need to use shortly to your work email is dumb as dumb goes. Also, the lift didnt even use the QR code and I went up without requiring any scanning.

If this is a Damac thing, then give them a miss. Plenty of fish out there like you said or just goto massage parlours.

On the ID issue, that was the first time they asked for ID. I can't imagine the girls like it either as they wanted her name and room no so she had to WhatsApp me her actual name rather than working name (though her first name was sufficient).

Just go to the ICP website. Browse to Smart Services and other services. personal information. update personal information. update.

This will allow you to update your email and phone number to personal ones. A few may apply, and you do need to sign in with your UAE Pass.

I stayed in Deira / Port Seed area. And found a SPA without any name just SPA. Walked in an evening and asked for options and the reception lady (she was the owner I guess) after checked all the options chosen the Thai Oil Massage with Scrapping option and asked her best price and she offered 280 for 90 minutes that includes 60 minutes and 30 minutes scrapping and shower.
