I don't understand why you make such a big deal out of this except if this about your national pride. Something happened and a few countries stopped vaccination a few days to investigate. Nothing to see. Move along.

Let us wait several years to see if really the Brits have done a great job. Nobody knows what could be the side effects of the vaccines, what is the real efficiency, only the time will be able to answer. England like France were powerful countries leading the western year but this time is gone and today they are just average countries with a lot of problems unable to protect their citizen correctly. Like for all this kind of virus we will see a strong decrease during summer, starting from October we will see how efficient the vaccines are.

Meaning 2% of the total gives dangerous side effects that can lead to hospitalization. That is anything but a low number. And worse than covid itself! But we all know that in most places in this world, people hesitate to report on side effects. And sometimes it goes a long time before they do. And by then the doctor might come up with some alternate reason for it.
My bad. 1.6% dangerous side effects. Still high!

They observed some rare clots in some German patients and you think the German regulator should look away? Put yourself in the guy who has to give permission to use a certain vaccine, wouldn't you want to investigate? Then yes, other countries followed Germany for the same reasons, so that they can avoid protests from their own population. It has nothing to do with the Brits, not everything is about the Brits. The Brits mainly got their vaccine supplies from India, which has also reduced exports but I don't see the same animosity towards them.

Who knows if they'll heal one day? Maybe they'll be disabled forever. 10% is higher than 1.6 %.
In Denmark they said that they will reopen pretty much everything when all risk groups and all people over 50 have been offered vaccination.
I wonder if this is what other countries will do.

Before taking any decisions the politicians have to know how efficient the vaccines are, how long they protect and against which virus. Today all those aspects are under scrutiny and nobody is able to predict the results.

The 8% figure is not the easy side effect that seems to go away within days such as fever, headache and vomiting. Those numbers are at close to 100%. The 8% numbers are side effects that will most likely stay with you. While the 1.6% serious side effects may be life threatening at one point. Mainly related to blood clots.
