I happen to be at a meeting in regard to Immigration this week. In Jomtien, effective October reports so far have been inconsistent but the news is in regard to the TM47.
This form is normally filled out by the hotel to immigration. It has been on the books since 1979, but has never been an issue Jomtien now has made a big issue of it a few years back it was the same old stuff.
The report must be made within or within 24 hours by the hotel. At Jomtien immigration there are changes in the waiting area or outside the main building parking lot is no more it has a number of offices broken down into departments. Outside of doing your 90 reports or obtaining a TM47, you need to Q up at the information desk to get into the main building for a Visa extension.
Those who reside at a Hotel, resort, or Airbnb, and don't stay longer than 30 days generally do not need to worry but if you decide to stay longer and need to make a visit without the TM47 you will run into a problem. The key although it is the responsibility of the hotel, owner if you don't have a TM47, you will need to pay 2000 in a fine.
For those who use Airbnb legit, the owner should have no problem presenting a copy of the ownership book, and their I. The. , if one is renting from a foreigner foreigner they will need to show proof of a Work Permit. No service will be provided without the TM47 in your passport.
If you own and live in a Condo, once all your documents are in order and obtained if you leave the country when returning you need not make another report for a new TM-47, living here everything under her name every time I leave the country return must make a new TM-47.
I do my 90-day report online, The next report is in December, told when I try the next time will ask to upload all the documents approved before granted another 90 days. If rejected I will need to go down to Jomtien immigration and sort it out.
There is a TM-47 website which is what Hotels uses to report their guest told to try to create an account by uploading required documents so I can register each time instead of going down to Jomtien.
Again, if you don't need services at Jomtien no worry but if you want to extend later?
Another headache living here it never stops. $$.

My last extended trip was when Thailand extended the Visa to 45 days so October / November 2022 I think. Don't plan on returning until February 2024 and even that is up in the air now. Thailand has lost a lot of its appeal to me after living there for many years. Jacking the Thai Elite visa price 50% to 6,000 USD per year for 5 years was sort of the last straw.
Yes things are always changing for the worst in Thailand and every other country as well. Japan used to be expensive but now I find it aligned with many of these 3rd world countries plus Japanese working girls are much prettier imo and clearly a better lifestyle in Japan.

Can you get a confirmation receipt from hotels the next day to confirm they have reported you to Immigration?
So is the penalty only a 2000 baht fine if no one filed a TM47? I will still get a 30 day extension as long as I pay 2000 baht?
