I think what we're seeing is a substantial drop in the number of girls (especially attractive ones) in the nightlife industry, while the number of ladyboys is staying more or less constant. I doubt there are more ladyboys in nightlife areas in terms of absolute numbers, it's just that the proportion of ladyboys to the girls is higher.
On lower Sukhumvit, at least, 10 years ago there were hundreds of attractive and decent female streetwalkers on any given evening. These days, the numbers are lower and all that's left is the bottom-of-the-barrel. Ladyboys now actually pop out for looking prettier than most of the working women still there.
To me, these could be the two factors leading to a perception of more ladyboys around and increased demand.
I agree that the number of ladyboys has remained more or less constant. 4-5 years ago there seemed to be many more very attractive ladyboys strolling along Sukumvit, sitting at the massage shops, standing on Soi 4 just past Hillary 4 bar and on either side of the soi. But during that same time frame 2-3 more Nana Plaza bars have been converted to ladyboy bars and I suspect several of the better looking ladyboys who used to stand or might have stood outside are now working in those bars.
Moreover, ladyboys are far more likely to agree to a session with the now greater influx of Arab, Indian and other less attractive to Thai female customers in the area. And I do believe that is also a big factor in why younger, better looking Thai girls are not showing up in the same numbers as before. Maybe they are online. But they are not showing up to be shopped face-to-face in public by men whose ethnicity they are not culturally used to or inclined to accepting. That factor is not as blatantly obvious to me in Bangkok as it is in Pattaya. But it is still a factor imo.

The education, in general is improving, and there are more job opportunities.
Bangkok has seen a change by in the recent years and there are more malls etc. Whether this makes sense or not, they need to employ new staff: more job opportunities. So more girls get s job without necessarily having to enter the sex industry to get a living. Lots did so, especially from rural areas with no jobs. Sex was an easy job, not requiring much school education.
Ladyboys do attend university and have more job opportunity, especially those not too much hardened by the sex industry. The acceptance has increased. They can have normal job more than before.
Still they have less opportunities than real girls. Hence they enter the sex industry more than the girls.
Ladyboys do enjoy spending money and normal works, decent wages, do not provide the income a good LB can earn.
They are also more keen to enjoy the job as it carries along a lot of sex. Don't forget their gender roots. In general, men have more sex drive than women.
It can be shortsighted as when their shelf date is over, mid to late thirties, they will be in troubles if they didn't think about saving or future life. That's another story, it goes down to what is inside their head.
Only few real girls can earn a lot in the sex industry and for shorter time.
As far as social media and internet being a marketing platform, I believe these are more used by LB than real girls. Just an assumption.
All in all this results in less girls entering the business and a steadier number of LB into it.
IMHO.
There were? I can't quite remember that. Never had that many SW experiences over the years for one reason or another. However we do now see the dominance of LB and African street walkers on Sukhumvit.
I can see that 90% of P4P will be weirdos in one way or another before too long. City of horrors! Makes me miss the extra sordid lunchtime orgy visits to Pat Pong 25 years back. You could have a sex party with several raunchy wayward girls in an upstairs bar like Kangaroo Club or Annie's Rose for a reasonable price. I was not aware of Star of Light in those days. I believe it was formerly called Star of Love. LOL
You could also probably organise a sex romp with multiple girls at a BJ bar these days but would cost significantly more. You might run into shy girls problems. LOL

Sagami
I've seen them in some, but not all, 7/11 in Bangkok, likewise some pharmacies though I can't give you a specific chain. Usually in packs of 1 or 2. Maybe if you asked you could get a box. Around 70 baht per unit ish. I buy online from here in Aus but keep an eye out just in case I run out. The Okamotos seem to be more readily available and might be worth a try.
Hi,
You find them in pharmacy Sukhumvit soi 4 corner on suk side before you yurn into Soi 4 before Nana place.

Marijuana
I've been wanting to go to Thailand for some time but I've avoided Asia because I'm a smoker and I can't enjoy a vacation without my weed. It's likes a drinker going on vacation somewhere where they don't sell alcohol. I've been to Philippines and I was able to find weed in Angeles. Can anyone tell me if weed is available and where to find.
http://www.bangkokeyes.com/1993jul31.html Indeed Casanova was an early bar.
I was aware of the 2nd floor areas populated by LBs but not really to up on the names of the bars because had to go past quickly.
In early days I really only attended Lollipop, Pretty Lady, maybe Hollywood. Whichever bars had the most nudity. Also Angel Witch for shows.
Not sure what year the nude dancing came in. I remember girls in the aquarium at Lollipop I think.
Later I attended Cascade when it was not a LB bar, then had the shock when it changed over.
I didn't arrive until late 90's. Hollywood (now Billboard) was awesome back then. They used to show pornos on the TV's around the place and had without a doubt the best lesbian show I have ever seen in my life. 12 girls in a circle mouth to ass just like the human centipede, then paired up into 6 pairs and using dildos and such. My favorite part was when one girl held a dildo in her mouth and pushed it in and out of her lesbian partner with her mouth. My second favorite place was G-Spot (now Rainbow 4). The shower show at G-Spot was pretty great and their supply of girls was solid. I had my first threesome ever in Thailand with 2 girls from G-Spot.
99% of the time is very easy to understand if the person is a ladyboy or girl, IMO.
I agree. Voice and Adam's apple are obvious signs, even if they can be trained or changed by surgery. Two signs, which are never changed by surgery, are hands and elbows. If you get very close, smell and five o'clock shadow are other clear hints for LB.
But I still think, that the behavior is the best way to recognize a LB quite early. They tend to overact female gestures (I. E. playing with their hair and boobs), that no, really no Thai girl would ever do.

Thai police are mostly corrupt, and any opportunity they get to prosecute a falang will be grasped with vigor. I have personally witnessed Thai police identifying farangs for drug tests walking near the Asoke intersection a few years ago, but I am not sure if it still happens. In short, don't do it.

Sagami
Sagamis, including the "L" size, sold at Boots in Pattaya, but often sold out. I wonder if the Okamoto 003 are equivalent. If I'm not mistaken the Sagamis are 0. 028 which rounds up to 0. 03 or something of the sort.

However given the risk in this part of the world you'd better monger elsewhere less risky. Germany comes to mind, with neighbouring Holland where small quantities are non-arrestable. Even South America is preferable to Thailand for what you have in mind. Do you want to risk finding yourself on death row for a joint? Even if you score you will not have your peace of mind.

If anyone answers the where question, Jackson will probably delete it.
For weed in SE Asia, you need to go to Cambodia or Saigon. Weed laws are generally not enforced. But quality is bad. Not really worth smoking.
Do you want to risk finding yourself on death row for a joint? Even if you score you will not have your peace of mind.
Obviously an exaggeration. No one gets the death penalty for a joint.
If you are stupid and/or unlucky and get caught, it most likely will be a large bribe. Make sure you have access to several thousand dollars.
If the cop doesn't accept bribes, then I've heard two things that are likely to occur. One is that you are sentenced to jail, and then you are released early on the king's or queen's birthday and then are kicked out of the country. The other thing I heard is that after you are arrested, you are kicked out of the country. Not sure which occurs. There is too much BS on the internet, with everyone repeating the same paranoia without facts.
