There is a sign in immigration which says you have to show your return ticket upon entering the country. Didn't ask me for mine.....but who knows? This has been discussed on the forum previously.

In BKK, Cebu pacific refused to let me embark unless I bought a return ticket. I had to struggle to find a wifi to book a cheapo Clark. Macau for 2, 000 pesos which I never used.
Airlines gets fined by Phils authorities if they let you enter the country without a return ticket.
Hi
I'm due to arrive in Manila on Friday from Bangkok. Because I don't know when I'll be returning I only bought a one-way ticket. It's now just occured to me that maybe that's going to be a problem at PH immigation. I have a return flight booked from BKK to Europe at the end of October.
Any thoughts from the PH experts?

The problem should occur at check in in Bkk when the airline has to check your ticket OUT of the Philippines before they carry you here.
It is cheap to buy a return ticket with Cebu Pacific from Manila to Bkk at some date near the end of Oct and you can change it once with no penalty if you do it 24 hours before the flight. I would do that if I were you for peace of mind, especially as you have to return to Bkk anyway.
Is it possible to buy smartbuddy (or globe) pre paid Micro SIM card for the Iphone 4?
I jailbreaked it and ran snow whatever thinggie, so it should accept the philippine SIM.
I guess I should go to the smart office in Robinson.
But what are the prices, and how can I buy 3G credit so I can get my emails and stuff without having to worry about trafic and RIP OFF roaming at 10 EUROS per MB.
Thanks
Probably micro-sims only available from Globe, and you'll probably have to go to one of their company stores to boot. Iphone is exclusive to globe in Philippines, but is sold in a prepay version.
Prepaid data is timed, works out to P20 per hour, billed out in 15 or 30 minute chunks depending on which carrier. Its billed off the same load as your calls/texts. There's a couple apps on Cydia that will let U-turn data on/off on demand, but when you do a reboot on the phone data automatically switches off, so if your phone crashes and reboots, remember to switch the data off asap.
On my recent trip I also picked up an unlocked Samsung Galaxy 5 android phone, quite cheap at P10, 500 compared to the price of any other Android 2. 1/2. 2 phone in my country.

Phi immigration never asked me for return ticket proof.
But the airline on check in has always asked me for proof of return.
So it is the Airline you need to worry about, not Phi immigration.

I agree. Once when in BKK I tried to organise a one-way ticket to Manila. The travel agent tried very hard to persude me I needed a return ticket but I wasn't going back to Thailand and I insisted on one-way ticket which was reluctantly agreed to. At the airport check-in the PAL clerk was adamant I wasn't getting on the plane without a ticket out of PI. It could be to anywhere but I had to have it.

I do not count me as an expert. There are more experienced experts than me (around 7-8 visits) but my encounter the immigration in Manila was a refresher to put me on my place. All earlier immigration experiences were like walking in the park. This time Cebu Pacific has cancelled my route to AC and I had to use NAIA. There was one 55+ years female bat whos' only remaining goal in her life was to humiliate any male tourists arriving to PI. I had to dig up my return ticket. I do not know what would have happened if I did not have the return ticket.
According to my one time negative experience I think it is lottery who you meet on immigration desk.

A one way ticket out of the PI dated some time in the future by one of the discount airlines is not that much to pay for peace of mind. Normally the airlines going into the country ask for the onward booking. The reason for this is that Phils immigration can require the incoming airline to take the passenger back to where he came from at their expense.
I've been having a great time in the Philippines (see my P Galera and Manila Posts) but one thing has totally stumped me:
My personal circumstances mean that I NEVER travel with toys or accessories but always buy them at my final destination. This is usually never a problem but here I have been totally unable to find any lube despite muti day searches in large Pharmacies and Shopping Centres.
You'll find it in Watson. Called Bliss. It's not over the counter, it's in the shop. You need to look around for it or ask the sales lady or guard. Mercury has too but not as good. BTW, Mercury condoms are bad as well. Best ones are Trust, and you find them in Watson as well (plus all around the place except Mercury).
Denom...Yeah... Manila mayor Lim is responsible for most of the bad call...all senate hearing and investigation point to his bad decision one after the other...if he does not go ..some one has to....As you said its unlikely he will be fired.....but everyday we get news of his involvement which led to the crisis.
Aquino is due to release the Palace decision on the investigation report today but you know what this IDIOT does? He praises Lim for a "job well done" in an unrelated even in Tondo just days before his announcement!

Yet another Aquino's stupendous goof. So what do you expect the "sanction" announcement to be after that? He's not going to do shit. Most probably going to say something like "has to be further enquiry to determine sanctions" (read: whitewash) or he'll take some minor administrative sanctions. I bet you. Aquino's credibility is quickly going down the drain.
But judging by some of the pictures in the gallery, seems not. But me too have to agree with you.
Absolutely correct ET...just the way you ask...;) and explain that you have deviriginised plenty pinay ass before so you are kind, gentle etc despite being a dirty assed monger :D
I have no trouble with finding ladies for Greek lessons...remember they think all things sexual are dirty etc so when they get really horny after finding out that all the bad things are actually fun, they are relaxed and very much in the zone....thats the time to ask...;) Just my thoughts on the classics!

The airline has the right to recover the return flight cost. And if it is a regular carrier, they can bump you to a see class and whack you. Legally. But it rarely happens.
The bigger headache is Immigration can put a stamp, which can raise eyebrows in other countries. Like in Singapore. They drop a W12. And when you get into Malaysia, you get a reject with no reason. And also sometimes a chop that says A2A in Malaysia, and when you get to Singapore, and if you are not so attractive you can be rejected entry. With no reason.
Play safe
Oh oh, here's the "Making of Dancing Flight Attendants" video. Even better.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h40S3Uemx4I&feature=related
The dancing Cebu Pacific flight attendants video made the Bill O'Reilly show last night in the pinheads and patriots segment. Anybody can vote for or against the girls. http://www.billoreilly.com/site
If you got a kick out of the video then cast your vote in favor. They won't get it in Peoria.
