this none spanish speaking solo monger survived a week in sosua and i’m glad i chose to stay in sosua over black beards. everything you could possible want is within a few blocks.

the flight from newark went off without a hitch and i had the pleasure of flying first class using my frequent flyer miles. thanks to the airlines crazy pricing methods i was able to purchase a first class ticket for less miles then a coach ticket. upon arrive at purto plata a cab driver was waiting for me. a few minutes later i was checking into the new garden hotel. i had arranged for the cab through the hotel and the trip cost $25 + $5 tip.

the new garden was much nice then i was anticipating. the pool area is lovely with lots of chairs and shade. a large awning covers a bunch of tables which is used as a dining area and a shady place to hang out. the corner bar is small but functional. my second floor room in the new wing was large as was the bathroom. it had a king size bed, a large combination safe, an ok tv, a small frig and a great balcony with table and chairs. the room was spotless and everything work fine; a/c, hot water and the electricity never went out.

first order of business was to exchange some money. the hotel had no pesos so the receptionist suggested i go to either corner and exchange my money. he could tell from my reaction that i was not happy with the suggestion. he assured me that it was quite safe. but my face still said ‘hell no’. so he went out into the street and like someone would hail a cab in nyc he got one of the money exchangers to come to the motel. minutes later i had pesos.

the second order of business was to find a dive shop. i chose scuba elite. they were very accommodating. i did two dives every day and most of the time it was just me and the dive master. most reefs in sosua bay are dying. however the live part of the reefs contained an enormous amount of fish. guess the fish have so few places to go. the sunken freighter was a great deep dive and five rocks and the airport wall were also great dives. all three are remote and see little traffic which keeps then pristine. also the diving at paradises island is great but it is a long full day trip.

hooking up with follow mongers was easy. i meet keith and kevin, nyc bus drivers at the pool and mitch my next door neighbor the first day. these guys were sosua veterans and provided all kinds of great information. they were also great company and a lot of fun in the bars. by the end of the week column a nyc stock broker and a couple of guys from phila joined our group.
available chicas were all over the place. the parade started around noon at the new garden and lasted to 7pm or later if guys were hanging out. the parade them moved to the calle pedro clisante strip around 10pm and went to ???? . the chicas came in all colors, sizes and shapes. there were even two very pageant ones working the calle pedro clisante bar circuit. all were very interested in earning money.

i enjoyed the new garden house girls the best. they were less aggressive, fun and provided better sex then the bar/disco girls. some of the new garden girls do not work the discos but are quite willing to stay the night if arranged in advance. by the end of the week i spent my nights with erika and jessica. they were not interactive but were honest and provided great sex. erika was better in bed but jessica spoke english and translated to help pass the time when we were just hanging out. i also enjoyed elisabeth and maria.

i had little luck with the girls from the disco. the first one was a real nut case. she picked me up in the bar below classicos . everything was going well so we went up stairs to the disco for awhile. eventually we agreed on 2,500 pesos for all night and went back to my room where she immediately wanted more money and/or a tip. i refused to pay any more and said i would give a tip if i enjoyed myself. she gave me one lame pop and got dress. i offered her 1,000 pesos and she got mad. she said i promised her 2,500. i explained that 2,500 was for all night and she was leaving after one pop but i saw this was not going well so i upped the offer another 500 which was what i was paying for short time. this still did not satisfy her and still on the 2,500 which i refused to pay. after a lot of drama she said ‘i’ll stay’ and crawled under the covers fully clothed. at this point i was pissed and decided to pay her 2,500 in the morning or she could leave with the 1,500 i put on the table. in the mean time i went out on the balcony for a smoke and a beer. mitch had also gotten had and was sitting on his balcony. it was not long before the ***** came out and started ranting again. this time she tried to get mitch to intervene. when she realized mitch would be no help and i was not going to give in she went back into the room and all of a sudden i heard glass breaking. the ***** had smashed my bottle of rye on the floor. it was now time to get security involved. too my surprise she agreed to this. guess she thought he would be on her side, wrong. girl was slick. as we left she tried to lock the room knowing i had no key. that would have really pissed me off. by the time we reach the stairs the security guide was coming up and she went into her rant again. funny thing happened at this point. two naked girls stuck their heads out of a room and complained that people were trying to sleep. i had a hard time suppressing my laughter. one guy with two girls trying to sleep, right. after awhile i told my side of the story and the guard wanted to see the room. when he saw the broken bottle and smelled the booze he said ‘i take of this and will come back and clean up’. he then gave the girl a push out the door that nearly sent her flying over the hallway railing. good to his word he came back with a broom and mop. have no idea what happened to the girl and don’t care.

the next night another girl renege on a 2,500 all night deal after one pop but i decided to just let it go. went back out and got another girl. the second girl did stay the night but after one pop she rolled over and went to sleep. at 6:30 the security guard was at my door to send her away. she no id and had to leave before he went off duty.

another night i went for a short term arrangement with a girl from the disco kevin recommended. the sex was great but a bit rushed because she misplaced her phone and was anxious to look for it. actually the phone was knocked off the dresser and fell into my shoe. i found it in the morning and returned it that night. she was one happy chica and showed her gratitude back in my room.

money matters

exchanging money on the street is actually safe, convenient and common. the money exchangers on busy corners and both the locals and tourist use them. their rates are also very completive.

pesos are the preferred currency. at the airport, guys on the street and new garden were giving 35 pesos to the dollar. the exchange places were giving 35.5 to dollar and the dive shop gave 35.8 to the dollar. since i was making a daily call to the us, i exchanged my money in the internet cafes but most of the guys were exchanging dollars on the street.
bring cash. credit cards are useless. most places will not accept them and if they do add a significant surcharge.

i used my atm card early in the week just to make sure i could get additional funds if needed. it work like a charm. i took out $100,000 pesos about $285us. my bank statement showed a 35.75 rate to the dollar and a $4.75 us international transaction fee.

the trip cost me about $2,000 us for my room, food, booze, tips, chicas, taxis, phone calls and other misc expense. plus $800 us for the dive trips and tips to the dive masters and boat captains. on average i did one st in the afternoon and two st in the evening or one double tnl. i paid 1,500 pesos for short time and 2,500 pesos for all night. according to some of the latest post i overpaid. sorry guys but i’m not much of a negotiator and they seemed like fair prices at the time. no air far involved since i used my miles.

tips/gifts

i tipped the maid 100 pesos each day. she felt everything extra i requested and my room was cleaned first thing. she left four extra towels a day for a total of six and all of them were used. the mornings i went diving i left the key on the board behind the reception desk and the room was made up when i got back. the mornings i did not dive, she asked for the key as soon as she saw me and cleaned the room right away.

also tip the security guard a couple of times. he will watch your back and at some point you will need his help. he is a cool guy and will be less likely to give the chicas a hard time regarding ids.

i brought small boxes of chocolates which i gave to the ladies who provided good service. i also left small individually wrapped candy bars and lolly pops on the dresser for the ladies to help themselves too . the chocolates were big hits.

i did not give any of the girls a monetary tip. i never tip in a pay for play situation. my feeling is the agreed upon price and service should be provided. above average service results in repeat business.

health

i only drank bottle water and avoided all salads, vegetables, and most fruits. i did use ice in my drinks and had no stomach problems. the guys at the dive shop told me all the ice is processed and would be fine.

be clean and keep the room in order (made bed, stuff put away) the ladies like to freshen up before playing so provided the means and supplies to do so; soap, mouthwash, clean/dry towels, tooth paste, tooth brush. you will have a better time and will get a good reputation among the ladies. they do exchange inform just like us mongers. the girls always smelled fresh and daty was a delight.

lodging

from what i saw the new garden is the place to stay. i checked out a room in the old wing. it was ok but not as nice as the rooms in the new wing. i recommend paying the extra money and staying in the new wing. i also checked out the rooms with the whirl pools. they are not worth the extra cost.

the other hotels on the street were dumps. i also checked out sea breezes, both the property and rooms. it’s cheap $40-$45us per night but run down. their pool is very small and not very inviting.

new garden pool

don’t understand why the pool is so underutilized. maybe the chicas are not permitted to use it, they are affair of messing up their hair/make up or they cannot swim. but the pool is no more than 4 feet deep and the girls must get hot as hell sitting around in the sun all day. why guests do not use it, i have no clue.

guys, take your tln girls for a swim. they will have a great time and you will be rewarded. the first night i suggested we go for a swim jessica and erika wanted no part of it. it was like i suggest some bazaar sex act. however they must have discussed it because the next night they suggested we take a swim. so i gave them clean t-shirts and off we went. they were like little kids who just discovered something wonderful. they could not swim but had a great time trying. back in the room they were very happy, relaxed and playful. the third, night they brought bathing suits and talked a couple of their friends into join us. had a great night drinking and playing with the girls in the pool. was not sure how i would deal with four ladies but luckily the two friends gracefully disappeared.

food

breakfast at the new garden which is included was good. i also ate several dinners there. the menu consisted of mostly pasta dishes but they were good and cheap. they are in the process of building a new restaurant.
the ribs at rock’s are great, pj’s is good and there is a nice italian restaurant on the corner of calle pedro clisante and la puntilla, a block down from pj’s on the other side of the street. sorry don’t recall its name. spent on average 500 pesos for dinner.

i kept food and drinks in the frig. supermarket playero on gregorio luperon is a large supermarket and only a couple of blocks from the ng. there is also a small market a couple of doors down from the motel (exit the motel and turn left). i usually made myself a sandwich for lunch and ate it on the balcony. also a hungry chica is an unhappy chica and an unhappy chica is not much fun. i usually offered my ladies something to eat while i recharged and they were very appreciative. again being nice also helps build a good reputation.
i kept beer and water in the frig so the chicas and i would have something to drink. went through 1 ½ case of beer and lots of water. the bar at the new garden closed around 10pm and beers were 100 pesos.

bars

the guys i hooked up like classicos so that is where we hung out. did not really matter. all the bars were similar and the girls drifted from bar to bar. we spent the early part of the evening sitting at classicos’down stairs bar drinking and fooling around with the chicas who stopped by to give their sales pitch. around 11pm we headed up stairs to the disco. there was a 100 peso cover which included a ticket good for a beer. the cover kept the chicas out who had no money and a lot of them did not have the 100 pesos. i would check out the action for a couple of hours them made a selection and return my room. beer at the bar and in the disco cost 100 pesos.
the disco scene got old pretty fast and i spend several evenings just hanging at the hotel.

supplies

you have to supply the condoms so bring plenty of you favorites.
i brought two different types of lube but most of the chicas did not use any. a necessity if you want to travel to greece which i did not get the chance to do.

baby oil. great for relieving crotch itch developed from sitting around in a wet bathing suit all day. also some of the chicas like to oil their bodies before playing which produced a real nice effect. made their bodies shinny and smooth

body location. great for massages. the chicas also like to use it.
i cannot stand foul or cigarette smelling breath so i brought cheap disposable toothbrushes and small tube of toothpaste from the dollar store to pass out especially to my overnight guest. i also left a large bottle of mouthwash out. the girls were happy to use them.

phones

i brought a cheap unlocked phone from wal-mart’s thinking i would purchase a sim card and get it activated in the dr. never happened. instead i used the internet cafes each night to call the states. the process was simple (just dial 1+area code number) and cheap ($10 pesos a minute). the internet cafes are all over and one is just down the street from the ng (exit the motel and turn left).

conclusion

would i return, yes but i may go back to curacaos first or try st. martens’.
the tnl concept did not live up to my expectations. i was expecting a more gfe experience. the next time i’ll skip the disco/bars and spend the afternoons and evenings sampling the ng house girls on a st bases. towards the end of the week i’ll pick the best two and spend my remaining time with them on a tln bases.

the diving was poor but i like having a nice room to entertain in and having everything you could possible need close by.

You picked the wrong Dominican town for that. Sosúa is nearly all hard-core. Some of the chicas at La Passions (which you strangely did not mention) offer GFE-type sex but you pay higher prices there. Some think it's worth it.

Great report, NJ John! Very informative and potentially very helpful.
The only thing I have to say is that in my experience it's always better to test-drive a chica for ST before going all-out for the TLN. But, looking at your last paragraph, you've come to the same conclusion

TLN in SXM requires taking the girl out of the casa on top of the $$ for the girl. It will be a lot more expensive than RD$2500, 4-5 times more expensive. On the positive side you're more likely to get GFE, and extremely unlikely to get a "loca" like you've described. Also, TLN will last until 9-10am in the morning (unless you cave in and let her go early.) Almost all Colombianas in SXM speak at least some english... but tend to be older (late 20s-early 30s) than some mongers like.
So, each place has its ups and downs...

But to clarify you probably took out 10,000 pesos not 100,000 pesos as that would have been almost $3,000 US dollars. I feel most know what you are talking about as I did, but sometimes newbies get confused and wanted to straigten that out for them.

You are right for the price he paid for a tln, although some feel that the Passions chicas are somewhat over priced since he paid that amount anyway he may have found what he was looking for with a Passions girl.

this sounds like a case of priapism (continual erection), which is a possible side effect of sildenafil (viagra) and might be caused by taking too much. this is potentially dangerous and could occur even with pfizer brand-name viagra.

this is the first report of this type of experience with la pela that i've seen.

factors that might affect usage:
dosage: cialis max. dosage 20mg in 36 hours; recommended 10mg 1 hour prior.
drug interaction: (alcohol) small quantity okay, - large quantity?

flesh turning black is usually a sign of tissue death, for instance, as a result of frostbite.
the end result is usually loss of the affected tissue. (not the case here).

cialis is a vasodilator, meaning it causes the blood vessels to open wider, allowing increased blood flow to turn your little friend into your big(ger) friend.
alcohol adds to this affect.

are you caucasian or:
black/afro-american/person of color (pick one).

a caucasian might have a side effect of excess blood flow, causing a flushing effect caused by enlarged blood vessels/ blood flow. this might cause a darkening/reddening of the area, - but black? in a dark-skinned person, this might take on the appearance of “black.”
