I have always hated the Bar girl game. You get run around 50% of the time. They only want to score points of commission on selling drinks so they pull your string and then walk away or go to another dodo that is drooling over them.
You buy 3 drinks only to find out the bar fine is 1000 baht the drinks are 1000 baht and she wants 3000 baht ST. And very impersonal just service and done. It is hard enough to have a conversation with a bar girl because you have to compete with the loud music.
FL's are he best way to go in my opinion. I agree that you can't see the whole package like you can in a bar or CH, but the attitude of bar girls is terrible.

There is a kapoo club web board that has lots of info, but you will have to use the translate feature on your computer if you have one. They are all over town in almost every neighborhood. This is a very short stay in Bangkok, so I have only a few notes.
Twister is its usual almost-awesome self. One feature saving it from actual awesome-hood is the difficulty of seeing all the girls from any one spot. Good luck with that. Adding to the problem is that many of the girls always dance in exactly the same spot, facing the same direction. If you try to walk around to take a look, your seat will be gone by the time you get back. Also, some girls don't barfine, including the knockout #8, sigh. Still my favorite spot, though.
The best currency exchange I found is Vasu Exchange, very close to the Nana BTS station, across the street from Subway / Sunrise Bistro. The margin between the buy and sell price for USD is only 6 baht, which is hard to beat.

Not everyone's favorite, but it's the reference BJ bar where action still takes place in the open (not a room upstairs) unless you opt for their free VIP room.
