Last night an ISG pal asked me about taking Patpong girls back to Sukhumvit. I told him I never had a problem with the girls and they seemed to me to be much less spoiled on the whole than many Nana and Cowboy girls, which is another reason to check out Patpong.

But the taxi drivers are another matter. There is a long row of them parked on both Surawong Road and Silom Road directly outside Patpong 1 & 2 just waiting around for guys leaving Patpong with their bar girls. The parked taxi going price was 200 baht just to take me and a girl back to the Renaissance Hotel. The meter rate was something like 65 baht. The solution is very easy. I walked a half block up Surawong or Silom towards the park and flagged a moving taxi. I imagine the meter rate back to Sukhumvit & Asok will be around 100 baht, maybe less. It is not that far.

And he was supposed to be quite on the inside in terms of knowing how much the bar rents were, how much they were making per week / month, knowing the bar owners fairly well and all. But I don't recall if he ever said why. I have been in a couple of Ladyboy bars due to my and some friends' curiosity. Seemed to me I saw a couple of Asian tour groups showing up, to the delight of the dancers. Was the answer that a tour stop, even if only for the sake of curiosity, kept the money coming in consistently? [/QUOTE]Yes, that was one of the reasons I had doubts about 2-3 of them in Lollipop go-go bar being Ladyboys. They were sitting with average-looking Farang customers who seemed perfectly comfortable with them to the point of perhaps being their repeat ST customers. In one case I could just barely hear the Ladyboy's voice through the loud music and that was an easy giveaway. Did those other guys not know?
