So every bar girl magically has a differrent body language to every other girl?
I have enough experience to know that I (and anyone else) can pick a high percentage of girls that are hookers, but I also allow for the possibility that my guess could be wrong in some cases.
Some P4P girls are able to carry themselves well enough to be quite unsure. Some Thai P4P girls are still shy and dress very conservatively in public.

I believe even the Thais will peg some girls as probable hookers who are actually not.

It's pretty universal throughout Thailand and one of the things my wife hates. I had to work a long time to get her to go with me because she didn't want to be thought of as a "hooker." She has changed her ways a little and might hold my hand in public.

Well I'm Australian but travel a bit with some work assignments OS. My least favourite places to work are USA and London. Of course I could put up with London for big money. Have been working in Germany a few times and quite like it there.
Hoping for a lengthy assignment in Singapore next year with regular long weekends in Thailand. Can't see myself retiring for another 15 years (after stock market has wiped out so much).

I'm with you FF. While Farangs are less concerned about what the appearance/image is, the Thais are generally much more concerned and don't want to kiss or embrase in public for example.

This is a big contrast to some European societies that are very kissy and huggy when meeting even just friends.

Exceptions are Pattaya (where anything goes) and long time bargirls who have got used to the stares and don't care anymore. Long term bargirls can lose the ability to discern when they should act very prim and proper and when they can be wayward. These are types that you don't really want to be with.

Understand completely. I'm American and choose not to live there. Germany is OK if you can deal with the German attitude. The majority of Germans are great, but there are those that still believe things should be as difficult and expensive as possible. And, that nothing is better than a good set of rules and making sure everyone follows them.

Love your home country, BTW. Would love to retire there, but like you I took quite a hit by the stock market and now I am hoping I can afford a buffalo, wood hut on stilts in Two Bug Fuck Thailand.

Even if I work in a secure state department my retirement plans were hit by the financial and stock market crisis. So I have to look for "cheaper retirement fun".

Here my questions:

How is the situation of the housing market going on in BKK and Thailand?

Is it difficult to settle down in Thailand being european?

Is it possible to "survive without restrictions" there with around 7-8000 eur / month?

1. real estate market has cooled down a lot but not crashed. but asia is behind in the crisis a few months i have the feeling

2. no. but you never will really integrate with thai. the differences are just too big. but an advantage of this country is that there are so many expats and pensionados
