The first thing I will like to say is good on you, Vlad - for doing your part to be helpful. The second thing that I need to say is that my own Indonesian is pretty basic - it will suffice for taxi's and restaurants, but I am a long way from fluent. With that disclaimer though, I have the impression that "casual Indonesian" . . . as in the sort of usage between friends, especially friends who are planning to fuck each other (grin) . . . is pretty different from "formal Indonesian".

Using "Anda" for you and "Saya" for me is not wrong, strictly speaking . . . and it is at least current usage - unlike "Ye Olde Englishe" would compare to contemporary slang and usage. I don't think I have ever heard a poon-possessor refer to me as "anda" - they always say "kamu" (same meaning as "anda", but not so formal). And although saya might be used from time-to-time, I most often hear "aku" or "gue" (similar meaning as "saya", but less formal). Anda seems to be reserved for situations where deep respect is intended - hardly the situation when you plan to fuck a female for funds . . . laughing now.

A massive thank you to forum members who post substantive information. Before my first visit to Jakarta I read back a couple of years of posts, making clippings. I am planning a trip to Jakarta in January. Never been there before but I've been RTFF so I think I at least have a clue about the city and where to go to.

TC sounded like a fun place but a couple of months ago reports said that it wasn't worth going anymore. Is that still the case or is it now back to business as usual in TC?

Been planning to stay in Malioboro Hotel and check out Staduim, TC, Travel and if I have time Blok M. Probably check out some other clubs in Kota as well. Anything I should be aware of? I presume there will be no problem for a blue-eyed, blond haired bule in the 25-30 age group to find company for the night?
