Talked with my friend who used to work at belle a little more. One customer (one of Nara's regulars) was also busted in the raid. Apparently Belle has been raided 3 times this year alone. The owners do not pay the protection money to police / organized crime so they get cracked down on every few months but they just pay the fines every time and keep the doors open for business.

To try and help out I explored a bit with a Korean friend of mine today. The results of todays exploration is as follows:

1% Massage - 200,000 won. 1 hour. Full service. No foreigners accepted.

If you walk down the street from belle, toward 1% massage, pass it and keep going strait. Go to the intersection and strait across the street. Keep going strait a little further and u will see an anma on the left. 180,000 won. 1 hour. Full service. No foreigners accepted.

Did find a place down one of the alley ways near cool/belle/etc called "Skin Anma" (Written only in Hangul). 180,000 won... 2 full hours. full service. Amazingly they will accept foreigners... but they rip us off for 250,000 won for the same service that is usually 180,000 won... Didn't want to spend that kind of money so I am not sure if the service is good or not. If someone wants to take one for the team and write a review the best directions I can give are as follows:

If you are looking directly at the belle sign, turn 180 degrees and go across the street. You will have to explore the alley ways on the right or left hand side of the intersection. The alley ways run parallel to the direction you are looking (directly away from the belle sign). I don't remember exactly which one it was down. Sorry I can't provide better directions atm.

I found two more places and went into one of them. The first one I will mention may be a gem if the girls and service are good but I did not explore it myself today.

If you get off at yeoksam station, subway line #2. Exit #3. Walk strait down the hill. You will come to a small street, on one side you will see an IBK. On the other side you will see a FedEx. Turn left down this street. You will see a barber pole on the right hand side. Basement level 1 is the massage place.

This place is apparently 100,000 won. 1 hour. 10 minutes of full service toward the end. The downside is there is only 2 girls working and customers come and go at fairly regular intervals day and night. Thus, these girls are probably fairly used up. While I did not see them I suspect these are not the most attractive or young women but it is worth a shot for a brave adventurer. There was no wait when we checked it out but that was mid afternoon. They do accept foreigners and they do not charge us more.

Ok the last place I have to report is worth mention but I don't personally recommend it. If you get off at exit 3 yeoksam station but go past the small street I just mentioned. You will see a "Seven Springs" (buffet) right next to a small alley. Walk down this alley, you will see a motel on the left hand side. Keep going about 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the way down the alley on the right hand side there is a barber pole and "Millennium Massage" written on the sign in Hangul. This is also a basement level location. 70,000 won. 1 hour and 30 minutes. Massage & Hand job only. Foreigners accepted and not over charged. But here is the bad bit. There are 4 girls working there. All low quality. I mean one of them had a decent body but still an ugly face... Most of them were really quite ugly though. Personality wise they are quite friendly and the massage was really professional. It actually hurt but we both felt great after we left. The handjob was very skilled but I just couldn't get aroused for two reasons. 1) The girl was maybe a 6 at best (she was the best looking one). 2) None of the girls will take off any clothing, you can touch them a bit but they won't even take their tops off, no kissing, nothing (not that I would want to kiss them anyway, but it would be nice to see some decent breasts). So if you are looking for a good massage place I would recommend it but if you are looking for a happy ending I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The only way Police are going to investigate is if there is a formal complaint. Therefore, the "customer" has to give his ID number and name. I'm sure ruff retaliation would happen if and when that formal complaint gets into the hands of baddies. But an anonymous phone call to the police is just as useless as a prank call.

The news was on TV.

One owner of the massage shops committed suicide because the police has kept busting them. And even other owners of the massage shops in Janandong area have had demonstration complaining of their being unfair.
