Thoughts on the "new" vs "old" Thermae
Thermae has proved to be a difficult hunting ground for me. Hard to find natural great body enthusiastic girls, with a sweet GFE attitude. Even the way the girls talk to me, puts me off a lot. Very sceptical and business like attitudes showing. If I was less concerned about the perfect body, might work better for me. Sure some girls are giving inviting glances, but typically not the girls I want, or they are just too covered up to see the body well enough.
My need to spend a lot of time evaluating girls is not suited to getting girls from the street or Thermae. It tends to be a big gamble. In the old days, we gambled and were disappointed much less often. Had some great girls from Thermae many years ago but not in the modern day. In the old days girls in Thermae had a more friendly attitude and were prepared to chat for extended time first. I did meet some real sweet girls that were only part time hookers. Not their main employment.
Thermae was my go to spot from '99 till about '07. Just an amazing place. I was there on average 3 times a week during that time and pulled countless gals. And it was a very "fun" place. The gals wanted to have a good time and of course the punters did as well. One would stroll around the place and countless chicks would grab your unit and try to get you to take them. Also, many of them liked to drink a bit which fostered the party atmosphere and much more open sexuality than you see nowadays. There were always gals putting money in the jukebox and dancing. Of course, after the GoGos closed the place really filled up and by 3 am you could hardly move in there. For those of you who don't remember, Thermae used to close at about 6 am. Price was never an issue. All the gals were more than happy with 1 k. Attitudes were for the most part quite good and with a little alcohol to loosen them up; most of the chicks wanted to have a good ride just as much as you did. I remember one regular who used to come up, grab my arm, and say "Let's go f $$k. " My kind of gal. The clientele when I first started going was just about 100% Western.
The entire atmosphere began to change when the Japanese began coming to Thermae about 02 or so. During the initial invasion they staked out the back corner and there began to be a group of gals that were Japanese only. They tended to be far less interactive than the other girls, did not drink, and were not overtly sexual. They would stand around and wait till they were approached, always keeping a rather demure manner. Also, they were asking and getting 1500 Baht. Fast forward to '07 and the numbers of Asian punters had grown to equal or outnumber Westerners. With the closure of the Siam Hotel on Petchburi Rd, which was the Asian late night place like Thermae, most of the punters from there made the jump to Thermae, bringing with them a completely different style and attitude towards P4 P.
With the price in Thermae having risen to 1500 and with a ST hotel being 350, it was then I discovered the oilies; an hour all in for 1900 and I could blow my load more than once. For me it was a no brainer. My days as a Thermae denizen were over.
Throughout the past 10 years I revisit the place about once every other month. Khun Somchai still greets me and remembers what I drink and ask about friends I used to frequent with. One thing that hasn't changed; Thermae has the best bar staff in the city. Each time I enter the place I feel nostalgic and a bit sad. In its current state, it is the antithesis of fun. Gals stand along the booths and walls, dressed fairly conservatively, they don't drink, they try to act demure as opposed to sexually charged, and they bow and kowtow as the Asian dudes pass by, seemingly giving them the same regard as they might the vegetable aisle in the supermarket. There is very little interaction compared to the Thermae I knew and loved. And of course the prices are sky high.
It is truly an Asian man's place now. The girls are catering to the market and they know the market for the Asian dude is very different from the market for Western men. Asian men like a demure gal; Western men don't. We want to have fun. We want it to be a bit raucous. We like gals with outgoing personalities who will grab us, talk dirty to us, be sexual and somewhat hardcore from the get go, and of course deliver that GFE or PSE every time. But guys, we're not going to see that again in Thermae. It is the Asian man's place now. In fact, aside from Soi 6 in Pattaya, almost the entire P4 P scene in Thailand is Asian oriented. As I stated above, it makes me sad to see that fun disappear. Prices are one thing, and there is a correlation between rising prices and less service, but it is the fun that is really missed. RIP.
Hi Jay. Your mailbox is full
Hello people, Planning for a Thailand trip in early March. *snip* Mregards. JP.
Hi Jay. I wrote this note as a pm to you, only to be told your mailbox is full. Rather than delete.
The late check out shouldn't be a big deal -- you can probably get a 4 pm Check out, and that's about the time you will need to leave for the airport anyway. If noon or 2 pm Is all the hotel can / will give you, just leave your bag and come back to get it, after you've visited whatever oilie or soapie you have in mind.
Early check in is much tougher. If the hotel does have a room, you can likely check in whenever you arrive -- which will be about 6 or 7 am If the hotel is booked, no matter how hard you try, you won't get a room until someone leaves, the room is cleaned, etc. One option is to rent a low-cost room for the night before you arrive and make it abundantly clear to the hotel why you are renting it, that you won't be arriving until 6 am, etc. , etc.
Good luck and have fun in March. TTG.
