Airbnb situation and advice
So I just booked a place in Laureles and before I booked it, I asked several questions regarding visitor polices since the place didn't say anything regarding "no sex tourism. " Basically did not shown it under House Rules. So I inquired regarding visitor policies and the host said "you can have visitors (up to two max three). I do not allow big parties or loud music at the apartment. You can enjoy the place without disturbing our neighbors."
I asked "Does that mean max 2 per visit or max 2 for the entire booking of 2 weeks?
She replied "If you're going to be with someone else the entire booking, please add this guest to the reservation. Right now, the inquiry is just for 1 guest. You can make a reservation for up to 4 guests. But, if you are going to inviting someone over just to hang out, no to a sleepover a couple of times per week, you can invite up to 2 max 3 persons."
After I booked the place, I got an email telling me the House Manual. Basically, rules and direction when staying in the airbnb, and it states that there is "No sex tourism." Even though, the host didn't advertised that House Rules through Airbnb website and was fine when I asked regarding visitor policies. What the hell? What should I do in this case? And this place got strict refund policies. I don't want to get kicked out, find a new place, and then lose money in the middle of booking. Need advice here on what to do. Thanks.
Just look for Girl Friendly AirBnb
Pollo Negro, I appreciate your input as I am monitoring this board daily since I plan to take my first visit to MDE in Jan and this seems to be genuine obstacle. To be fair to TDC985 he did exercise due diligence and ask a number of questions before booking. You are saying stop trying to live in American type environments, yes I fully agree with you when you are experienced within a particular location and already have the lay of the land, that's easy to do and very beneficial. Thats what I do when I'm in Thailand, I get as far away from Gringos as possible and live among locals deep within Issan which is easy to do when you already have a handle on how things work.
For a first visit to MDE I have also narrowed down my location to Laureles Estadio just so I can get an initial lay of the land in what I perceive to be a safe environment in good proximity to El Centro. You say there are many places where we can stay and not have this problem, kindly advise us as first time mongers in MDE how we can go about finding out more about these, since we are not on the ground there and are normally limited to airbnb and reports from this board and others like it?
Stay near Centro or Stay in Poblado in the ritzy type apartments that allow you to do as you want. Are you afraid to get what you are paying for? Paying girls for sex in this country is not illegal. The Uppity people in these areas want to pretend that it does not exist. Find an apartment that is girl friendly, Centro, Bueno Aires, Barrio Boston!! Just a few to name. Pollo Negro is Out!
