From the time I first went, in 1979, though the early 1980's, the coffeeshop there catered almost entirely to farang. Not surprising, as there were few Middle Eastern tourists to Thailand then. I don't remember exactly when they started appearing in number but I do recall walking into the Grace one time, maybe late '80's or early '90's and being shocked at how totally the place had changed. Anyhow the place was great fun back then, bigger and livelier than the Thermae. Along with Safari on Patpong in the early '90's and Five Star in Soi Cowboy in the late '90's it still ranks among my favorite Bangkok nightspots ever.

Usually, there is also staff available there to assist you. All you have to do is ask. Even otherwise, there are signs placed to guide you. Hope this helps. Any other query, feel free to ask. Enjoy.

A few of us that did go to the Grace almost 30 ears ago were not Middle Eastern and did not experience Middle Eastern problems.

As Betong said, originally there was minimal Middle Eastern presence and that grew. In 1991 (my first visit) I did not really think the place was unsuitable for me, except from point of view that too many girls were not skinny enough. My Farang buddy still loved the Grace at that time.
In 1991 it seemed that the Grace and the Thermae were considered the big 2 coffee shops by some groups of Farangs

Coming to Bangkok after a couple of years away and I've been reading some of online guides to Bangkok nightlife. They have said that in early 2017 all the late night street bars and food stalls have been closed down? Great shame if so, used to enjoy those places on walk home from Nana to the hotel if no girls were appealing or I was too tired from exploits earlier in the day.
Anything replaced the bars, are there any late night places on walk between Nana and Soi 4?

The line at the regular counters could be pretty frustrating especially when many flights from India, China etc. Land simultaneously. The extra 200 Baht is nothing compared to the torturous wait.

I use this facility without fail and the never ending queues at the regular VoA counters always leave me wondering why more people do not avail of this facility. Is it lack of awareness or just a matter of saving a couple of hundred THB? On the other hand, if everyone started using this facility, its very purpose would stand defeated IMHO.

Some of the very late night illegal cart alcohol and music bars are still operating but in lower numbers. Certainly they exist in smaller Sois and in Soi 23, 2 months ago for example. Have not checked the scene after closing time recently.
I used to be a customer of Easy Cart Bar in Soi 21 till it and all the others there were swept out more than a year ago. Some cart bars have a lot of Lady boys. Others do not. One big problem was some girls of insufficient age. One of the girls from Easy Bar went to work in Cowboy 2 bar.

I'm not too bothered if they have ladyboys or younger girls (well, I do care about that, but you get what I mean) as I won't be taking out from street bars. They were only ever convenient to break up walk to hotel, have a bit of food and continue to have a laugh on the way home.
I've been finding that on the guides, some of them are out of date from knowledge I have from my last visit in October 2014! Some of better websites no longer exist at all. Long live ISG!
Booked a taxi through Nam's Taxi for Pattaya to BKK, what a great service! The last time I booked one last minute with Rose Taxi and the driver was an absolute lunatic. Following a 3 night stay in Pattaya, we will be in Bangkok for 2 nights before moving onto Vietnam! Anyway, got to Smart Suites hotel around 3 and got some food at the Terminal 21 food court. As I did not get much sleep the night before, my buddy made the comment that I was a walking zombie and recommended a nap. Great call!
Woke up some time around 7 and grabbed a burger at Daniel thaiger (a tad overrated but at least they had a good beer selection). Next we headed to a place that I missed during my last visit, Thermae. Pretty easy to find, got a beer and walked around. What a weird place! Not what I was expecting and nothing really caught my eye. Off to Soi Cowboy we go.
Our first stop was Crazy House. 100 baht cover? What the. Well we got a can of silly string at least. Ordered beers and surveyed the talent. Nothing really caught my eye, but damn were there a crap ton of Chinese. My buddy dared me to blast one of them in front of us, so I waited for one of the dancers to bend over close to his head and I got him good. He got up and walked away, alright! Still didn't see any one that made my weenie tingle, but we did see another Chinese guy with glasses all caught up in one of the girls. I emptied my can and covered that poor sob's face. 100 baht- Worth it! Slammed our beers and headed to Baccara. Jumped prematurely on a spinner with a messed up tooth. Bought her the 2 required drinks as another chick on the stage (#280) caught my eye. My plan was to take this girl out and then come back for 280. Asked what she would do- everything, check and the location of my hotel. She seemed a bit hesitant with the distance, but I said it was a quick motor taxi away. Off we went. The session was meh, nothing really of note, but she did have the spinner body that I was looking for. Unfortunately her pussy smelled, tried to ignore it for the sake of cumming. Finished and sent her on her way, she said she was done for the night and I wished her well.
Headed back to Baccara but my #280 was gone. Darn. Wandered up and down the strip and ended up in Dollhouse. I really enjoyed the vibe here as the waitresses themselves were all really playful. Still in the mood for a spinner, Ploy caught my eye and I motioned her over for a drink. Some other notables were one with a right arm tat that could really shake it, as well as a beauty with a nice ass wearing fake glasses (more on her later). My buddy sent me a message that he was finished with his girl and where to meet. I told him to come to Dollhouse. Well many rounds of drinks later, I barfined Ploy and he barfined the one with glasses. I was a little jealous as I was really feeling her. Oh well. We said we wanted long time and asked how long they'the stay 6 am. Perfect. Off we went in a taxi. We like to mess with the girls and it is funny- every single time we tell them that we are in the same room and the same bed, and they just shrug their shoulders and don't seem to mind. Hil-arious!
At this point, I realized I was a little drunk, but that didn't stop my man from getting up. We showered up and went at it. What a great tasting pussy. Threw the rubber on and she rode me like there was no tomorrow. Went into a bunch of positions before nutting to reverse cowgirl. Passed out in each other's arms and woke up at 9:39 am. Whoops! So much for 6 am. Ploy was a good girl though and knew the drill- freshened up in the bathroom and gave me another session. The ultimate cure for a hangover! Went on to a bunch of tourist stuff to say we accomplished something / show the folks back home all afternoon. I will say that surprisingly the temples were not crowded. And a bunch of free food at what Arun!
Decided to give Nana Plaza a try and went to the Rainbows, Angel Witch, and Billboard. Man didn't see many lookers at all. We had beers at each and then decided to hit up Cowboy. Went into Baccara and what a madhouse! To be expected NYE. I was hoping to see 280 and asked the mamasan if she was working. She sent me 282, who was not my style, but I bought her a drink anyway. She knew I was not feeling her and left after the drink. I was having a hard time focusing because my sex addict persona was kicking in and I wanted to bang as many hot chicks as possible. I was actually contemplating skipping the Knife Party show at the Bangkok Countdown Music fest! Asked around at a couple of bars what time they were closing and they said 6 am. OK music fest is on! Around 11 we headed that way. And fuck what a show! I felt like I was rolling and all I was on was alcohol.
Took a motor taxi back and the guy hauled at $$, gave him a couple hundred baht and said respect! Back to Baccara around 1:30 and holy smokes was it barren! I couldn't believe it, it was like a complete 180 from earlier. Gosh darn Chinese! Went into virtually all of the agogos but did not see a single thing. Dammit! Ended up back at Dollhouse and was at least having fun diving in the Styrofoam balls with the dancers / waitresses. My buddy said he was tired and left, I thought that would give me the green light with glasses, so I tried. She was playful, even letting me finger her butthole and then sucking on it (SO TURNED ON! But ultimately asked about my friend. I said he wasn't coming, then she said she was on her period. OK I tried. Ended up taking Ploy again as she was deemed Mel Kiper's Best available at closing time on NYE. Post trip, I did rate her as "best bod" - pic below. As we got back much later than before, I just pounded her in back to back sessions and then sent her on her way so I could get some uninterrupted sleep. Happy f'in New Year! So long Bangkok, it was fun!
