Ah, I see what you're saying - on the one hand they are dancing around nude, doing the nasty for a living, and on the other hand they are showing what polite, spiritual and socially well-adjusted people they are by giving the wai.

Does anyone know of any university’s/education centers that are close enough to monger locations yet isolated enough to where the students or school officials would not notice. I have been given the opportunity to set up a summer study abroad program in economics. My employer will pay for me to take two weeks for exploratory set up and then it would be a summer program every year after that. This seems like a great opportunity to combine both work and pleasure while my trip cost and stay would be paid for by my employer. Any information on education centers in Pattaya would be greatly appreciated.

Call it Double standard Hypocrisy? Can't really find a specific explanation or it might be everything!

It might be funny and even stupid but if you want to get along.. you just go with the flow. Show a girl you can Wai at a shrine and you just might get a better GFE?

Let's see, the predominant western superstitions include a virgin getting pregnant with the son of god, the red sea parting at the waving of a stick, god speaking from a burning bush, someone rising from the dead, and so on. The Thais are no more superstitious than we are. They merely have different superstitions.

I know many girls aren't proud of what they do, but they are proud that they financially support their family and friends. And that pride certainly outweighs any shame of paid sex, which to some extent is viewed differently in the East and the West in any case.

Chris[/QUOTE]Chris- you may want to go to PI instead -- Silliman University in Dumaguete, Negro Island (near Cebu). It is the oldest American University in Asia. Dumaguete does not have the night life -- you have to go to Cebu for that --(but I'm sure you may find a lot of willing coeds). The advantage is they all speak and write English (better than the Thais). To me, it would be a professor's dream job (even a graduate student).
