Medellin VS. San Jose, CR
Hey Guys,
I am planning a first time trip with a friend. We are currently deciding on going to Medellin or San Jose, I am leaning toward Medellin because it seems like a more interesting and cosmopolitan place. Plus it seems like San Jose will be extremely rainy right now. If we do end up in Medellin, where would you recommend staying? I was thinking about us staying at Casa Blanca. Is it better for a couple of first timers to stay at a place like that or a more conventional hotel in town? I am also looking for a good, honest, tour guide/driver. We will be there from April 20-28 so if people are around and want to hang out feel free to PM me or email at [blue][Email address deleted by Admin][/blue].
Thanks in advance!
Mike

A few more tidbits on Medellin
[QUOTE=Biffa]Cubanut. Seems like there are fewer options right now in Medellin than recently, and if an experienced monger like yourself is saying the streets just too dangerous, then I'm inclined to agree.
I'm about to book for Colombia or maybe Lima Peru. I've loved Cartagena in the past but this time I was going to stay at a well known monger destination near Mayorista in Medellin. Are the benefits of Medellin (cheap price, quantity, quality?) still worth it against Cartagena.[/QUOTE]Biffa,
As I said before there are many locations to stay at. Places such as Frank's Place which is at the tail end of Mayorista. $25 a night and you avoid having to pay $11, 000 for a short time room each time you want a Mayorista street girl.
There a MANY options for girls in Medellin. Sorry if I sounded like there wasn't. I was looking at it as a newbie with let's say a week to spend in Medellin. I was highlighting the more well traveled and safe locations.
Here's a recently updated list of places in Medellin.

Staying at the Mansion or Castillo is great for a newbie also because there are always veterans visiting as well that don't mind taking someone new to the city under their wing to show them the ropes.
Want to hear something funny? On my first trip to Medellin, the first time I went to casa New Life in El Centro was when Ricker and his girlfriend and the predecessor of Marcy, Natalie took me. I remembered taking a hottie for 1/2 hour and when I came out, Natalie asked "How was it" to which I exclaimed "I WAS GREAT! "
Nowadays Boyd from the Castillo does almost daily tours of El Centro casas for newbies at no extra cost.
Cartagena is great but once in Medellin you will appreciate the differences. About the only thing you may have a problem with is if you prefer darker or black girls. There are not many in Medellin as in Cartagena.
BTW- It is my opinion that your hard earned vacation dollar will go way further in Medellin than Cartagena in general. You would be very hard pressed to come away from Medellin thinking that it is crap. I think you will enjoy it just as much if not more than Cartagena if fucking beautiful women is a high priority to you as it is to me.
BTW- Hioctane, yes I did forget Maracaibo, which is between Barra Ejecetivo and Las America's and it is just as good. I also forgot Apoteosis which is farther in El Centro but pretty good as well.
Also, I really don't recommend a newbie taking the bus to El Centro. But if one does, remember that you then still have to then get a taxi from the drop off point to get to your destination. Cheap yes, but I feel that for a first timer when coming in with all your gear and money goods etc. Why fuck with the unknown. Also like you said, safe during the day, probably by night too but I'd just like getting to where I'm going fast on my first day in a new place.
Also for newbies and veterans alike:
One thing I really forgot and wanted to say is unless you like taking chances with your fun time. NEVER EVER take a DRUNK/HIGH street girl or a DRUNK/HIGH girl you just met in a bar to either your place or to a hotel/motel. This to me really applies to any country and or city in the world. When a girl is not in her right mind there is no telling what problems may arise.
Many guys who stay at the Mansion and/or Franks place or other places where girls are introduced to them or if they ask a casa or strip club girl out can go out and get drunk/high or whatever but the girls are more accountable for their actions. Not so for a street girl or other stranger.
Gents,
My post was not meant to be a one stop place for info but like I said I just wanted to get any newbies on their feet and running in Medellin.
Cheers,
Cubanut

Greetings Cubanut,
The link you included in your report isn't going to do anyone any good because it's a link to the 2nd page of thread #2418, which in a few days could be completely different that what's displayed on the thread's page 2 today.
What would be more correct is a link to the actual post, which is in fact already written for you immediately below the "Report this post to a moderator" link.
It's formatted as: [post]post number here[/post]
Thanks,
