I thought I had read somewhere that they would throw out ridiculous numbers just to bait you, but in reality you could go long time for 1500. So I tried 1500, after which she completely ignored me and went back to her phone. Maybe it was a lowball offer, but you could at least play the game of haggling, right? I have heard mixed things about their attitudes / personalities, but they can't all be so surly. Right?
Also, I see a couple people mentioned the cart bar (s) on Soi 23. Does that refer to the one at the end of the soi? I'm staying close by and I often see the same two black girls hanging out there. One is thick, the other is not really my type. Any experiences?

I am also a "big traveller" (for mostly work), and I always check out a range of reviews in TA on any one place I intend to visit and I can usually sort out the genuine reviews from the toxic or self-promoting ones.
IMHO, if there are a preponderance of negative reviews then that is a red flag, but a good mix of positive and some negative is also a good guide. I have a group of friends and we regularly post bonafide reviews of all places that we visit.

Its part of the charm of the place and you can easily get kicked out of there for what can seemingly be nothing at all. The place most commonly attracts some rough people. It is, after all, a late, late night establishment and its common to witness some belligerent a-holes doing something disrespectful to a patron or a bar hand. I think years and years of dealing with this has made the owner a bit testy.

They'll quote you 2000, but usually come down to 1000 for ST, or maybe 1500 if you're unlucky. Lower Suk streetwalkers are not exactly upmarket, and Africans there are neither especially exotic (there are dozens of them), nor good looking. Africans seem hardcore, out to maximize earnings by turning as many tricks as possible, rather than just to earn enough for the night and go home as [I]some[/I] Thai freelancers do. I doubt LT is what many Africans are after. Maybe if it's getting late, but even then, it won't be cheap.

True, that encounter did get me thinking about how unpleasant it would be to sleep next to someone who'd feel trapped in my hotel room for the night. I disagree that the African FLs aren't good-looking though—obviously some are hotter than others, but I wouldn't paint them with so broad a brush. What did kill the buzz a bit, though, besides the surly attitude of the one I approached, was that her English wasn't as good as I was expecting (or was led to believe by some blog posts floating around). Always go ST unless repeating (and no guarantees here either) I always demand min 2 hrs min 2 pops. I always offer base price plus tip if good performance and I do honour my agreed incentives tips. I also offer them to stay if they wish (some do, some don't) but no more money will be exchanged, I make that quite clear. And I say we will be sleeping. My usual is to kick them out. I prefer to sleep alone. This MO allows you to control the situation, as the point was made not overpay for poor performance, gives you the option to extend or pay more if you wish and every so often they stay and you get a pleasant surprise next morning which I may reward but not at "usual" FT rate. This is my MO everywhere I monger. I get very few knock backs. I must say I am eager to go black too but the standard in Thailand is well below what will get me hard.

I do not remember reading any in this forum. That should tell you something.
The expertise that is shared here by many seniors says a lot to the sport we all share. If any of those have experiences with AWG's please post.
I have heard rumors while in Bkk that the AWG's will rip you off in a New York minute. They are from a very difficult life and are controlled by some group that keep tight lines on each lady and that have demands that the ladies must answer too.
I witnessed 2 AWG's fighting in the morning around Soi7/1 below Nana bts. A Black man was the boss and he let them fight. The Thai police just watched and did nothing.

Went back a lot of pages but saw little in rates that punters are paying for free lancers and also bar girls in bar fine and money to the girl.
Understand that it will differ from area to area and bars. Any help and ranges would be appreciated. Will be staying around Nana Plaza and will also visit soi Cowboy. Regards.
