Neither you nor I have much credibility in assessing the actual percentage. You are therefore relying on gossip, innuendo, and hearsay to perpetuate a stereotype.
For the record, I don't disagree that the percentage might be higher, but how much higher?
I haven't been to Thailand for long time, but as American with Indian heritage (dark skin), people was very nice to me maby because I'm American or cute kid LOL taking me away from my mom to play with me, LOL good childhood.
But from my travels what I found out is that when it's more than one Indian (group of Indians) it becomes intimidating and not understanding personal space or respect. Not saying all Indians are like that, but usually the case, either stereotype and trying to be very cheap or pushy.
My 2 cents to fellow Indians, dont complain about pricing (tip well), be well reserved and respect the girl regardless of her job (treat her like a princess) , don't be a perv and pushy / demanding. Let the girl have control then she feel more comfortable with you. Also be clean, groomed, good hygiene, and don't over use the cologne (1-2 sprays is enough).
I know I'm going to get backlash LOL but it's the harsh truth, Indians shouldn't be having bad rep but the ones that don't have common etiquette give all Indians a bad name.

Its not the Indians in general but the class of Indians that are visiting. Lets blame the cheap airline fares and the super cheap rooms that allow 4 guys to a room. If airfare was as cheap as it is from India to Thailand all over the world you'd be talking about the trash being brought from all over the world. Raise the price of airfare and hotel restrictions on single guys to a room and the problem goes away.

I was lounging around next to the whirlpool tub in a FKK in Germany some time ago and a couple of Indian guys invited a black girl to join them in it. They enjoyed her company for a long time and then curtly said "You can go" to her. Needless to say the girl was indignant and discussed the issue with her friend nearby after climbing out. Both of them went back and to the guys and had some sort of discussion and one of them reluctantly got out of the pool and went with her ostensibly to pay for her companionship. Many Indians are cheap and love to brag about getting something for nothing.

Thursday day 1.
Arrived at out hotel about 2 pm and my wingman is still sick. We are staying at Omni Towers Soi 4 Sukhumvit. We have a short walk to Nana Mall and have lunch and change money. My wingman goes back for a sleep and I grab a beer at one of the Hilarys and watch some FL across the road. I get 1 for 1000 and go back the hotel and have a some what lacklustre session. I send her on her way and check out Thai Friendly. I have a girl there in an hour and she is so much better. My wingman arises and is surprised that I have been busy LOL. We head to Nana Plaza and check out most places but very different from Pattaya. He heads home and I go to a bar nearby and have a dance or 2 with one of the girls but I know I'm gone for the night so I head back to the hotel. On the way I get hit up with 1500 LT so I take it. A bit fumbly in the night but get it on in the morning but I'm never picking up in the dark when drunk again very ugly and after telling the wnigman he tells me lucky noy a LB!
Friday day 2. After breakfast we decide to check out beer garden on Soi 7. The wingman is slightly better. Not much there and I get ripped off for a beer from this girl who after 2 sips leaves her bag and goes of talking to about every other guy in the bar. I move her bag and when she comes back for another drink I tell her to go. She is indignant and makes a point of picking up the guys beside us. So what. We leave and head back the hotel and I tell my friend that I saw a cute girl in the bar almost directly across the road from the hotel. Jackpot she is sitting out front so I head towards and out of the blues this other guy gets there first and she takes him in to order him a drink! We order and I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't been so rash with the girl at Beer Garden. Then she comes over to me and sits down. We play pool and after a couple drinks we settle on a price. While we are finishing our drinks we see the girl from Beer Garden go into the Ibis with some old dude. We cheer and she looks over and I show her my girl, so funny.
After we have some dinner we head off to Soi Cowboy. My wingman is still crook and isn't in the best of moods. We went to to 2 bars and he hates it. He spotted a girl near our hotel who he wanted and said he was going back. I'm not happy but there was a girl from the night before who caught my eye so I thought why not. I went to Nana Plaza first and hit a few bars before saw this young cute thing so I was set for the night. She said in the morning she had to go to university for the morning so she was only a part timer who had the tightest pussy. I'm usually careful but she didn't stop to ask me to use a condom so I'm hoping she is clean! But her pussy was so tight and I'm not that big so I don't think many cocks have been in there.
Overall impressions of Thailand is yes definitely will return but maybe 1 night in Bangkok to really check out Soi Cowboy.

From my perspective Indians seem despised because they are seen as generally argumentative, which is true, they are generally stingy, which is true, they have cultural norms that are different to Westerners and east and south east asians, which is true and they Have dark skin. There are many cultures that have exactly the same first three features. I could argue southern Europeans from Greece and eastern European are the same. However they are fair skinned so it is tolerated. I could argue that Chinese also have some of those features. Perhaps they are less stingy.
Come to Australia, the Chinese from mainland China are generally detested for being, wait for it, cheap, argumentative, different and buy all our property. Their only advantage is their fair skin and sexually loose women who dominate the sex industry and are seen as more desirable than fat white women.
The Indian taxi drivers here are seen as, wait for it, stingy, argumentative, different and have dark skin. They do not have desirable daughters, at least in the eyes of the locals.
I could go on. My point is, it's prejudice no matter what we think. It's inherent in Asia as the rest of the world. Most Indians are decent hard working people, but then remember the wasps of America and the west, many of whom dominate this board, a few generations ago were beating up Irish folk. Being decent isn't going to stop prejudice. Indians of dark skin probably face it more than light skinned Indians.
My final humorous point. There is so much negativity here when white guys strike out at thermae or get turned away from Japanese dominated places and comfort themeselves crying into their beers about east Asians being 3 minutes three inches and 3 k baht. That the world has changed and being white Caucasian is not as unique an advantage as before. The Chinese will arrive more and more with more money and they will steal the top notch girls that the white guys desire. So I smile, raise my glass to those who try to rationalize their own inherent dislike of Indians based on anecdotes and say enjoy your world, I'll enjoy mine.

If you get rejected, why not look at yourself and try to enhance other aspects about you, like that wallet size. I've mongered with friends from the USA, who were Indian, White, Asian and Hispanic. They all scored at Thermae and Baccara. Maybe not their first or second choices, but still got girls. And at least they didn't sit there and cry about the other guys. It shows jealousy when you do that.

I believe we are all racist in one way or another as we all greedy and selfish in some shape or form. Some of us fight against these base instincts while others happily marginalize people based on skin tones and other ethnic differences.
That said it has to be accepted as a reality that particular nationals do not always fit well into new environments and locals vis a vis their own culture find them difficult to deal with.
It is not up to the locals to change their values to accommodate these differences. It is up to the visitors to acquaint themselves with and respect local customs and norms by changing their behavior. Those that don't should be shamed and ignored.
Not everybody from these countries behaves badly but unfortunately a lot do which sadly tarnishes all of them. I try to treat all individuals irrespective of color or creed with respect until I find he or she doesn't deserve that respect and believe me I have met just as many white dickheads as brown dickheads.
