I was going to be a nice guy and let the chick come stay in my house while she studied English. The problem was that she would need to send money back for the care of her daughter. I told her that she could do chores around the house and cook and I would give her $200/ month to send. Mind you I'm only there about 4 days/month anyway. (I would have stayed there more if she had come.) It went from her buying her ticket, to me paying for half her ticket, to me buying all of her ticket, to me laughing my ass off because there was no way that shit was happening.
She finished her degree in July and was supposed to come then. Come to think of it, another chick I know from Barranquilla has a visa as well. Maybe it is something to do with the coast.

When I get to the part of paying, it will not accept any of my credit cards (which all have $0 balances on them, so it's not a credit issue). I believe it has to do something with the payment gateway interface, so I was wondering if anyone found a way around this? If needing to get a Colombian credit card, is it possible to do before arriving to Colombia?

So maybe update or use a different browser?
I've never booked on Viva. If they have a Country option on their home page select Colombia vs USA?

Viva Colombia gives you the option of using the Colombia site or other country site. I booked a flight 2 months ago and the cost paying in pesos on the colombian site versus using the other country site and paying in $ was nearly one half less. I was using a Canadian Bank visa card, my statement showed debited in pesos then converted to $cad. Colombian credit card very difficult to obtain even if living in Colombia.

I also tried going though the Colombian site, but still had the same problem. My friend (also in US) had same problems, but I will try again. It's not possible to buy a ticket using a credit card issued by a US bank. I know because I tried. It is the same problem in Peru with their domestic airlines. However, it is more problematic with Viva because unlike Peruvian airlines, they do not have offices to buy tickets. I did find a travel agency in Cali to buy a ticket to Medellin but most agencies do not sell tickets for Viva. Their website says to buy a ticket at their airport office at least four hours before their scheduled flight.
I went to the office two hours before my flight as I had a ticket already purchased at the above Cali travel agency and noticed their airport office was closed. So, in short, they are not user friendly for non-Colombians.
One time I got lucky and found an inexpensive flight with Avianca from MDE to Santa Marta and used my US credit card without a problem.

Medellin has an excellent transportation system with what people called busetas that do travel within the city to many neighborhoods every day, early morning to late evenings and less than 2 USA, there is train called El Metro also travel daily early morning till 1030 pm and is less than 2 dollars a ride and which travel north, south, west, and east of Medellin, super safe, quick and reliable. There are yellow taxis in the city and are not that expensive. I never used them cause I don't like to take take taxis in any country, but people told me were cheap and you could see them everywhere. There is also a buseta at the airport that can take you to the city center and makes two stops (San Diego Mall and the City Center near Nutibara Hotel) for about $4. 50 dollars). The busetas in the airport are very comfortable buses and are pretty reliable and they leaves the airport to the city every 30 minutes. The taxis from the airport to the City are expensive or over $50 dollars cause it is a long ride to the city. It is best to take the busetas to the city and from there take a taxe to your Hotel.
There is a tourist information desk at the Medellin airport and they can give you information or direct you to.
Different transportation options. Also I only recommend the buseta option if you travel light. If you have large luggages, no, then you must take a taxi or rent the car (and pray the car does not get stolen or you get into.

I'm a 30 years old German and new to this forum. I saved up all my holidays this year to go for a bigger trip in January, February or March 2015. What I'm searching for is not a total sex holiday: I've seen places like Pattaya already, but I didn't really like them. Instead I had my best times in other places (Cebu, Phuket, Taipei, Singapore) with non-sexworker girls. It's something like that again I'm trying to find, paysex is just supposed to be a puzzle part in it or the fallback plan in case nothing else is working out. I know it's more difficult to get the normal girls, but I'm gladly investing some time hitting on exotic Asians or Latinas compared to an awful flirt with a German girl. First I was thinking about Vietnam and Cambodia because I've been to some the places in South East Asia and love it there. But now I decided to check out some place in Latin America first because:
1. I've never been to any american country at all and I am excited about it.

Since I keep on reading and reading I get more and more confused about where to go. I think reading more travel reviews will make it even worse. Maybe you can help me by answering some of my questions to give me a direction.
Which country would you recommend for me as total America newbie? (Spanish or English speaking, low prices, low chance of robberies or weapon shit). Is Columbia a good choice then?
Which countries do you get the best value for money? I guess high English level makes countries more expensive in general. Am I right with Cuba, DomRep and Columbia already?
I read about Medellin and Sosa for example as sex paradises. Maybe I should check one of these as introduction for my holiday, but then which are the places to go if I want to get hot and easy non-sexworkers as well? In the past I have good experiences with bigger cities because you can find more open-minded girls than in villages or sex tourism places where they all expect money. But maybe smaller places are OK in Latin America if you speak Spanish? I don't know. In Phuket I was able to find both.
My impression from the pics was that the Colombian girls have generally lighter skins, more variation in hair types, more beautiful faces (I know that's a very individual point) and better shaped bodies than in Cuba and DomRep. Is it true in average or am I totally wrong and biased by the pics? How about the amount of fatties in these countries?

If you're looking for non-pros more than pros, I probably wouldn't spend significant time in Medellin or Cartagena. The girls in those two cities are quite used to foreign men and getting non-pros can be tough. Yes, Colombian women, on average, are lighter-skinned than Cubanas or Dominicanas. But there are still plenty of dark / African descent chicas in Colombia.
As far as bodies, it's a matter of opinion. I personally think Cubanas and maybe Dominicanas have better NATURAL bodies than the Colombianas. Alot of the Colombian chicas with hot-looking bodies have silicone "augmentation. ".
Safety is generally not a huge issue in Colombia, as long as you exercise normal precaution. I would say DR is more dangerous, though I've never had a problem there.
Is travelling in comfort real important to you? If you don't need super luxury, I might do Cuba. It's the safest out of the places you mentioned. And you don't have the hassles that us and. Americans do in visiting. And it's a very interesting place to visit aside from the mongering.
Forget about Sosua -- it is very overrated. Numerous curvy naturally beautiful women that provide poor service.
Strongly suggest reading the forums and go to Colombia.

I understand that it's probably hard to get non-pros in Medellin or Cartagena. Any places that you could recommend instead? How about Bogota? Or should I head for the smaller cities?
On Cuba / DR:
Thanks for the Cuba arguments. No, luxury is not important for me. The only luxurious thing I really found worth paying more for in SEA was aircon. Anyway, from what I read it's not THAT hot and humid as it is in Singapore (quite difficult to get a relaxing sleep without it there). So I guess I can do without aircon in the Caribbean.
It's certainly a plus if there's a lot to see besides mongering Cuba. BTW I read even in Puerto Plata there's a lot of other stuff to do. Another big plus for Cuba and DR that I found out today is that they offer non-stop flights from Berlin to Cuba (Varadero) and DR (Puerto Plata, Punta Cana). That's great because I really hate stops on long distance flights. I guess Punta Cana is not really the place to go though because it seems to be a total family tourism place.
However, your arguments support my plan of considering Cuba as a good destination. I'm still thinking about a holiday split because I have a whole month. So maybe 2 weeks Cuba and 2 weeks DR. Or instead of DR 2 weeks Columbia maybe. The flight could become a really expensive part in this one though. On the other hand, I would have to fly to DR anyway because surprisingly there are no ferries at all serving between Cuba and DR.
On Other countries:
My research about the other countries: I already sorted out Costa Rica (expensive), Venezuela (crazy and dangerous), Brazil (Portuguese). What I cannot judge on are Panama, Ecuador and Peru. All I know is that Colombians are supposed to be hotter. I'm not a fan of silicon either though. Is there a place with the looks of Colombian girls but less augmentation?
Shamester: Can you be a little more specific? What is it that makes Columbia so much better? Girls giving better performance for money or anything else as well?
