I intend to visit Pattaya fron April 1 to 4 th(my 4 th visit but then never during good Friday easter time.April 2nd happens to be good Friday).
Is it a foolish decision? Do the chicas take mass leave during this time?
Will appreciate the pundits advise.

Talking of Sabai Soapies, I was there last week. I agree with Lordberners, S. Room and S. Land not very good, S. Dee far better: wider choice (although still poor compared to Bangkok or to Pattaya itself 10 years ago) and competent papasan. I ended up with a beauty from the Cambodian border region: quite young for a soapy (20 year old) and in my eyes a very, very nice girl. Perfect body, no signs, no stretches, no tattoos, no plastic anywhere. Service was ok, she was not very experienced but put a lot of effort. Her name is Bee, treat her well if you meet her, she is very sweet. I tip her big.
Gogo bars: well I was deeply disappointed by Boesche. Was there three times, never seen a girl I like, very few customers, fat ladies, bored waitresses. Now what happened there? It's been my favourite venue for years! Anybody knows something about it?
Superbaby ok as usual, supergirl so-so like all other gogo I visited, whose names are now a blur. Only Happy I do remember, got three ladies (not together.) and noone disappointed me. Beautiful and very active, all of them. If I had more time I would have taken another couple, precisely n. 91 and n. 4 whose nick is "Icecream" and yes I would have licked her from head to toe.
A new trend I noticed: people are going to gogo bars far earlier than before. In the past (I had holidays here for the last 21 years) I started my gogo evening at 10 or 11 and ended whenever I found anybody worth a commitment. So I went on until 2 or 3 am sometimes, and bars were always full of girls. If you visited a gogo before 9 you might have found a few girls and a couple of early birds having a drink before dinner. Now, if you go after 9 you may find that all best talents are already taken. Customers seem to have dinner at 6 and visit bars at 7. 30 or 8. Ridiculous! Don't know if this has something to do with the change in tourists (before: French, Italians, Germans, Aussies. Now: Russians, Britons, Chinese) or else, but it completely changes your schedule if you plan to visit gogo bars to find company.
Closing time is now 4 am and nudity is widespread. I would do without it, but once a bar opened the floodgates it was nude everywhere.
Cannot report on beer bars or beach road, I just do not like them.
And now motorbikes: one important warning if you plan to rent a bike: police stopped me twice. I was driving slowly, alone, with helmet, lights on, on my left. First time they check my papers (rental agreement and copy of passport) and let me go. Second time they ask me to open under the seat, to test the indicators, all ok. Then they ask me driving license and they want the original! No copy! A guy that was also stopped said there is a new rule: you should get a local license to drive even a small automatic scooter like the one I had, or else pay 400 baht fine. I can guarantee they were NOT looking for money because they stopped at least 20 people including locals, and all was done very openly, on Beach Road at 5 pm I even tried to pay on the spot but policeman refused and was already writing a ticket: with that ticket I should have gone walking (they keep the bike) to soi 9 (police station) stay maybe 2 hours in a queue, pay and come back. So I started yelling that I had enough, that police should stop crazy drivers with no helmet, drunken idiots in wrong ways, not regular tourists that follow the rules like I do blah blah. The captain approaches and I keep talking while thinking "in 2 minutes I will be free with no ticket, or in jail". Captain listens, I repeat with a slightly lower tone that I always follow the rules and that by harassing tourists they will only see tourism disappear. Captain says "ok no ticket now but next time original ok? " and let me go. I do not know if this is a new law or not. I was never asked to show original driving license in 10 years. If anybody has more info please report.

Great idea in concept but the execution would have so many legal issues I can't even begin to fathom them. Some one tried doing something similar off of NYC back during the Guliani years and lasted about a nanosecond. It got horrible publicity in the papers and then they started taking pictures of the guys going on board. They shut down quickly thereafter. How are you planning to get the girls from Asia - smuggle them in? The cost of getting to your boat and the price of the stay + the price of the girls would have to exceed simply going to Pattaya by magnitudes. My guess is girls are not going to go for 1000 baht - more likely Euro prices of 200 Euros. Plus every legal agency in the world would be after the ***** Boat. I can see CNN already doing an expose. My guess is that the average guy in P. spends about $50 a day on a hotel and $100 a day on girls/beer and $30 on food. Say $200. If you could beat that price and not get arrested, go for it. My guess is that you would have to market this to a much more upscale niche group than guys who go to Pattay and who can afford to spend a lot of dollars - but my guess is these people would be much too discrete to want to get on a boat full of other mongers for the world to see.

I noticed this too. I asked a girl who works out of Super Girl why this is, and she told me unequivocally that it is the Japanese and Korean tourists who are responsible. Their idea is to get in early, grab all the fresh talent for ST, run them back to the hotel for a 2 hour shag, then drink with buddies for a couple of hours, and then if the little samurai awakens, they go back to the gogo bars and pick through the left-overs.

Don't forget the cost of the crew, fuel, food, etc. Good intentions, bad idea.

If I spent that much I would be broke. My figures are more like $30 hotel, $60 girls/massages, $12 food and $6 scooter. $108....but I am actively looking for one of those $20/day apartments to cut costs, khrap!

He said he pulled me over for going the wrong way on Soi 8, which there was no way he could have seen from in front of the police station (unless someone radioed him). Then I did not have my license with me. There is a chart on the wall in the police station lobby with the fines. I should have had to pay 400 for each violation, but for some reason they only made me pay 600 together. I guess you get a discount when you commit more than one violation. I tried to pay him off too but it did not work. I know one thing, now I always follow the traffic rules and I always have my license with me. I don't know about any local license. Can someone who is a local please chime in on that?

I agree with you of course... but my girls never seem to miss a chance to get chocolate ;) They sure know all about chocolate today (Valentines), and Easter, and Xmas, and New Year Gifts, and B Day Gifts, etc... the List is endless...
Pretty soon Hallmark will issue a "Glad you're my wh@re" card ;)

There are lots of very decent hotels for 400-500 bahts in Pattaya.
My 2 cents and change on motorbikes,
From my observation from many years riding all over Pattaya, this is what I have seen and heard.
Farangs are riding ATM machines on scooters especially if you are driving and staying around the tourist area like Beach Rd. The check point at Soi 9 where the police station is located has a cop just before Soi 9, on Soi 9. until Central Festival, there is a check point just before Royal Garden and after and right around the beginning of Beach Rd as you are required to turn left. The main check point at Soi 9, the cops won't take money since it is too visiable and since they set up a pot that is split between all the cops in the station. There is a check point in Pattaya Tai near Tukcom, there is a check point just off Sukhumvit as you enter down Pattaya Klang, there is a check from time to time down Pattaya Klang as you cross 3rd right as you head down towards 2nd.
Anytime I'm near these areas I make sure especially Beach Rd. I'm always on the right side so I have less chance of being pull over. Once you are pull over they will find something wrong with you or your bike. My opinion their lack of English etc... so they can play dumb is just their method for a license to steal from Farangs. I have sat on Beach Rd. opposite Soi 9, just watching and if you ride like you don't know what you are doing or going, recklessly, no helmet or you passenger doesn't have one... they would pull you over.
I come from Sukhumvit into Pattaya Klang a lot and I have seen Farang as we are waiting for the light to change have good bikes and a helmet on but ride on the right get put over while I go by on the left. Maybe it's because they are fat or just that they are white but nearly every Thai gets a past.
At the same time they need our tourist dollars but that doesn't keep them from shooting themselves in the foot. Kids are out of school in March and April and return in May...November expect greater check points throughout Pattaya since tuition is due for schools.
As for the questions regarding Easter, it doesn't make a difference...if you got cash you will get some ass~

Its funny, I've driven motorbikes in Pattaya for years, and only ever been the victim of the police shakedown when not wearing a helmet, or carrying a girl who had no helmet. Of course once they get you stopped they fine you the additional amount for no Thai driver's license, but I've never had them find anything wrong with the bike, or even look at it, despite my very poor bikes.
I do have a Thai driving license, but it is for driving a car, and doesn't appear to apply to motorbikes at all.

I'm a Motocy guy myself - I find renting, fueling, dealing with the cops, parking, weaving through traffic, all with that vague throb in your crotch from last night and the viagra hangover a bit much to take. Throw in the heat, humidity, pollution and noise, and you're asking for trouble. Of course, I am only ever in Pattaya for a few days at a time, and I never venture too far from walking street, so I have no need for my own scooter.
I jump on a motocy twice a day, end up paying less than 100B a day ($3), and I don't have to worry about anything. Plus, there is the added advantage of being able to take in the scenes while hanging onto the back of that motocy, which is always enjoyable.

let me add some more thoughts:
Hiring a 200 passenger cruiser will cost you 500k€ a week and that is a good price.
Lower capacities, will cost you proportionally more.
Then you have to face the difficulties to find a suitable crew.
How many of them will be ready to see but not watch what is going on? Or not to see at all? How amnywill be disturbed by the whole scenery?
People hired to work in brothels or similar mongering activities do that all year long, they know what the game is about.
But the staff of ship cruiser is not rady for that.
It will be super hard even to talk to boat broker about the idea.
A lot of mongerer do go to Asia for other purposes, for business realted activities, and then they cut times or days for the fun,
But there is no need to justify to your wife why you go to Asia.
Imagine having to say: I go one week holiday alone on a boat cruiser, sailing from a nearby harbour.
It might even hit the media news, so people will know there is a funny boat sailing...
If I get sick whilst I am in BKK (for work), nobody will be bothered, even if I break my foot stepping down from a soapie.
But if the same happens where you are not expected to be?
Think about communications etc.
During a work break in Asia I once have been in Thailand for fun and back home I told I was still in Taiwan or Malaysia, I can't rememeber... 4 complicate days to be careful on background noises during phone calls, trusting nothing happened.
