November and May are rainy season in the Valle de Aburra. This November has been unusually rainy. Daily showers and storms of up to several hours are normal. Sometimes it can rain almost non-stop for 48 to 72 hours. The weather you experienced during the quarantine is the norm outside of the rainy seasons.

Yes, they have regular high tables and they'll evict someone who didn't buy a bottle if necessary to get you a table.

However I think it's a bit cheaper. It really depends on how crowded it is. But on Saturday's it's most likely a VIP section. The only thing mandatory is paying cover. Even if you get a booth you have to pay cover.
Uber, didi, indriver, even coopebombas all greatly decrease the potential for that sort of thing. That sort of thing does occur regularly. Sometimes the taxistas are in on it and sometimes they are not. Several of my locań friends tell me San Diego is a hotspot for it, especially the side streets around Little Caracas.

But it's still a place I like to go to.[/QUOTE]I can see how Gusto's has it's place in Parque Lleras, and for guys coming down to monger for a short period of time with wads of cash, it's perfect, and in the scheme of things, perhaps not really all that expensive compared to other venues in the world. However, it definitely is a "higher end" mongering venue in Medellin, and although I can afford to roll in Gustos with a booth if I wanted to, it just doesn't appeal to me on many levels. Perhaps it's too predictable in some ways. I remember going to an FKK in Berlin and after paying 90 Euros left not partaking as I didn't like the setting, and how things worked. I basically went to experience it, yet it wasn't for me while other guys were lapping it up. Perhaps it's my age being an old fart, and it's a much younger crowd that frequents the place. Maybe it's trendy, the place to be seen, and do they really have the prettiest girls working there.
I have no idea what the allure of the place is, maybe someone can articulate this.
But sex and money is a universal language. I think if he knows is destination or have a snapshot of destination he can be fine. Use your translater but some chicas don't want to use translater intentionally to annoy you when they give bad service and want there money. Follow solid advices by the members. I did it so you will be fine.

I have a friend who is Asian I met with last week in Medellin staying until December. He has been several times in the past, rents a room in El Centro, and speaks a fair amount of Spanish so he fly's fine and is also aware that being an obvious foreigner that he has to keep his radar up, and he's staying in a Hotel right in El Centro by the Hotel Nuitibarra.
Again, I'm not saying your incapable of doing this, but for a first time foray it would be quite a challenge, hence I suggest you stay at the "gringo hotel" for your first trip if money is not an issue for you. Albeit it will be very expensive, but at least you will have somewhat of a safety net.
As an alternative, you might want to consider the DR, excellent time of year to be there, and much more user friendly than Colombia and safer for foreigners, but limited mongering venues.

Some guys will swear that they can operate just fine not speaking Spanish using a translator, but the truth is, it's a whole different world when you can speak the language.
Most of the issues and shit that the Chicas try to pull on guys who don't speak Spanish are way less, at least that's been my experience. I've been told I'm fluent in Spanish by other Colombians which honestly I find hard to believe at times because sometimes I can't understand some people and it's a function of their accent. I understand way more than I can say, maybe ten times as much and can carry on conversations on most topics, but flounder on the different tenses to use, but for some reason seem to always be able to get my point across, more so than some speakers who have all the tenses nailed meaning their booksmart, that's at least what a tutor told me.
Regardless, I think you have done quite well in Medellin with the Chicas you've written about in your posts having very limited Spanish speaking skills, a lot of times it's not how much you can say, but the timing of when to say things to the Chicas, albeit it may be garbled.

Ready for my annual Thanksgiving trip to MDE for a week. Followed by another week of so in early December. I am still working on the non-pro pipeline. Once you get on the right track and realize what they girls want (and not all of them just want money). It's not that hard. You just need patience. These chicas enjoy sex and they want sex where the guy pays attention to their needs and not just their own. They seem to appreciate it when someone pays attention to them and is nice to them.
That said, I do miss some of the pros. Not the hard-core pros or the ghetto girls, but the regular "pros" from facebook. I have a few new ones I hope to see and if a few slots open up, a couple I've seen before. I will definitely report on anyone I can share. Good, bad, or indifferent. And I'll also let you know what I'm seeing on la 70 and in Lleras. Not sure that I'm ready to go back to the barrios to party. Not just yet. But just happy to be going back to MDE and not have to worry about a COVID test coming in on time. As I left last time, there were rumors of the border being closed again. Glad that's not the case. I'm with you, Blakman. The stories of Gustos are insane. Great place for someone who only has a few days and will probably never go again. Otherwise, I don't see the point. Overpriced. Drinks and girls. Girls are not that impressive IMO. I've had more fun in Lleras Park (disc) and Lleras Town. Actually, best bet is to skip Lleras all together and go to La 70 or La 33. And skip La Isla and Fase II. If you must, wait until after hours and go to the clubs where the strippers go to party. I've done that once or twice and had a great time. Strippers get horny too.
