Even the Springs Hotel massage was virtually closed mid-week as none of the girls had arrived "yet".

"The Grill" on the 3rd floor of the big glass-fronted building on the Square had around 10 customers Friday night. Normally it is bursting at the seams with lots of potential eye contact here and there.

The Blue Sky Hotel with the iconic sail shape has a nightclub in the basement and the sky view bar on the top floor and both were virtually empty on Saturday. The Grand Khan Irish Pub had 6 customers when I dropped in for lunch on Saturday (normally, it's jumping). The waiter told me "Very cold Sir, no customers. Maybe in a few weeks we have more people".

Another development is that Casablanca, the restaurant / bar in the ground floor of the venerable Bayongol Hotel, has closed, so I am not sure where the miners go for drinks these days.

So Dave; I hope by the time you and your mates arrive in mid-April, the weather will be in positive territory and the locals will be getting ready to party. I will return in May for another month by which time the party scene should be in full swing.

BTW: most websites related to UB / Mongolia are way out of date. Even Trip Advisor seems to have out-dated reviews, as though the country has been closed for a year or two.

I just indulged in a massage / body scrub at the UB Massage in the basement of the Springs Hotel.

There is a price list of the different "treatments" - I chose (as always) the deluxe combination body scrub / massage (75,000 MTs or about 38 usd on today's forex) which constitutes a 30 minute body scrub followed by a 1 hour hot oil massage with warm towels too. You can choose cheaper options like a scrub only or massage only etc,but I enjoy the full monty.

For those who have not experienced this pleasure, upon entry and after choosing your treatment you put you valuables in a locked cupboard and are then taken to a small room where you disrobe, wrap a towel around yourself and wait for an attendant to take you along to the bath area.

There you will lie on top of a plastic-covered table whilst a sexy young attendant throws quite warm water all over you and then proceeds to scrub you from head to toe with a heap of soap and what feels like chain mail gloves to strip off the skin (just joking but I was sure I must have been bleeding all over).

She again sloshes a lot of warm water over you and repeats the scrub using less damaging gloves until the final rinse she is using her hands lightly. She will clean everything thoroughly front and back including a good scrub of the bumcrack and the family jewels.

Then it's back to the original massage room (where your clothes are) for a 1 hour massage which is (I believe) exceptional (I have been many times before and it's always great).

A warm oil HJ finishes off the treatment. It's part of the pricing, but she will probably ask if you want in case you're averse to such liberties with your body. You don't have to negotiate a price or fee for extras or anything like that.

Pay as you leave. A tip is not mandatory but a small 10% gratuity is well-received and they remember when you return next time.

Went to this place called Grand Massage-1 last week, they have 2 locations from my understanding 1 in the Zaisan are and the other close to 10th micro district.

Anyway straight into what happened, it was on a 1st floor of a 6 floor apartment building and pretty clean inside out, very similar setup to that of UB massage. Got a nice scrub wash and back into the massage room and a pretty girl came in and started the massage pretty nice, teasing a lot as well. Got to the nuru massage part and god was she an expert, for an extra 60 K we did everything but penetration, she was very clean as well. I'm sure if I had protection we would have had sex but without it we kind of did everything else that is pleasurable, god it was amazing and she was willing. The thought of going there again is lingering in my thoughts and can't find the time of the day to do so. Also with times being hard on a lot people these days the massage places are not busy and are very open to almost anything which is a plus for me. Are you a local? How did you get there? It's actually quite a long way from the city center (around the square). You would need to get a taxi to take you there.

As for the prices yes the 60 K was on top of the massage wash 60 for a total of 120 K tugrugs. She also offered to make me cum 2 times for 100 K which I refused once I unloaded the first time. Hailed a cab from city center to get there and if look at Google maps its fairly easy to find. Anyway thinking about heading there again soon.
