Not to pile on but my experience with Rainbow 3 was bad too. Post #36486. I haven't been back since, won't even bother poking my head in the curtain. It's been a couple years and I am certainly wiser and more experienced and things change, but honestly the experience just rubbed me the wrong way too much.

I have been barfining from Billboard last few years and 1 of my regulars is there. I have never heard of or seen any girl at billboard that wouldn't barfine. As my girl explained to me they do have "agency" girls, but their barfine is the same they have the triple digit numbers XXX. The girls that work for the bar just have double digit numbers XX. She was originally an agency girl and then their agent disappeared owing all her girls money and the billboard mgt offered to bring them on. That's the story at least she told me, didn't ask for extra money or anything and this was after I had seen her a bunch of times so no reason to disbelieve it.

The one thing they started in the last year was a 2 tier barfine system. ST 700, LT 1000.

And thanks to Syz and some others about the bad mamasan. I have avoided her most of my visits to billboard but true to form the 1 time I didn't she was a pain in the ass.

Clearly everyone has different taste and many are liking the surgeries girls. Billboard had a lot of no surgeries girls and many tall slim model types, where Butterflies was a bit behind in this category although still plenty of non surgery girls. The key point is whether you can find the right pretty girls with the attitude you are looking for. For looks only, I am now rating some bars as quite superior to Cowboy bars. I only ever BFed one girl from Billboard (with repeats) before and she was perfect GFE. She found a sponsor very quickly I would bet. Just so sweet and lovely. So it is about choosing well or getting lucky.

On Billboard stage, some are Coyotes and probably have a steeper BF, I forgot to check. Not clear if all are available for sex. Safer to choose the G-string girls (maybe) although my previous girl from Billboard did not wear a G-string (something bigger).

I have not been into a bar like Rainbow 3 for many years. It was once an extremely high pressure hassle by staff place, where could not sit an relax. I wonder if it ever changed and became a better bar?[/QUOTE]

But here's the problem; back when she was the mamasan at Crazy House, I barfined several girls from there with whom I had such good P4P experiences I repeated them often. Yes, some of those good CH girls left while she was still working there. But after that fat bad mamasan left or was fired from Crazy House, I have not barfined anyone from there worth a damn. The rate of good to bad P4P experiences with CH girls got so bad, I stopped and have not barfined a girl from there in a long time.

Before that fat bad mamasan showed up at Billboard, I couldn't score a decent P4P experience from any girls at Billboard if my life depended on it. And I had a long running goofy experiment with the situation, returning to Billboard every now and then (because other punters kept going on about how great the place and girls were), giving it a chance to redeem itself for me time and time again just to see how many lousy P4P experiences in a row I could rack up from the same highly praised go-go bar. I think I got up to 12 disappointing duds and rip offs in a row over the course of several months or a couple of years, and I'm not joking about that.

However, SINCE that fat bad mamasan started working in Billboard, my P4P "luck" with Billboard girls has improved remarkably. And I am not joking about that, either. I have now taken several girls from Billboard in a row who have not ripped me off or turned out to be duds at all. Every one of them, at least 8-9 over the past year or so, delivered the goods in my room exactly as they agreed to do so in the bar, which is a complete turnaround from my pre fat bad mamasan Billboard record of results.

So what is to be concluded about that? Maybe nothing. Or maybe everything. As annoying as she is with drinking customers, is she annoying in another way with the girls about making sure they are not in the business of ripping us off after we have have barfined them? It wouldn't take much effort to get a better result on that count compared with what most go-go bar mamasans probably do for their money. I mean, if that fat bad mamasan does nothing more than stroll through the gathering of girls right before opening, clap her hands and say something like, "Ok, ladies, remember a big part of your job here is to get barfined and make sure your customer is happy about that so he will return again ASAP", then that one annoying (to many girls) directive is probably a million times greater effort to positively influence what the girls do after scoring a barfine than what 99.9% of every other mamasan in the city does, even the slim nice ones.

It has been there for years, isn't particularly active anymore but if the wind is blowing just right even I can smell the aroma of tobacco leaves emanating from it. It isn't the smell of burning tobacco as from a cigarette. I'm talking about the smell of tobacco leaves still being stored or otherwise dealt with down that soi. And I must say I have smelled more of that myself lately, not just on Soi 4 but other nearby sois as well, because the wind has been carrying it all the way up to Sukhumvit. If someone associates the smell of tobacco with the smell of "garbage", then that could likely be a factor.

Actually, I suspect the redevelopment concept and project had more to do with the closure of Annie's Massage than anything else. I once had a conversation with the owner of The Mexican restaurant next door to Annie's and mentioned that, looking down his way from Soi 4, his sign was overwhelmed by the Annie's sign. He replied with something like, "I know. But they will be closing and bringing down that sign pretty soon." That was probably about a year ago. So Annie's next door neighbor business was already aware that Annie's was going to close months and months ago, which argues against an unexpected sanitation issue, imo. I didn't ask more about that since I was never an Annie's customer, didn't care about it, and I must have automatically assumed he meant the closure was part of the redevelopment project and that, like other bars there, would reopen newly remodeled elsewhere on the lot.

If you are talking about the same "Fat Mamasan" that I think you are talking about, then I think you made an excellent point. Yes, the fat CH mamasan was always looking for tips & drinks from me too and sometimes was she real slow in returning my change from a barfine. But, over time we developed an understanding which was: if I was there to barfine, I would buy her a drink (non-alcoholic, her choice) and tip her 100 baht (my choice) and if I was there simply to reconnoiter, then no drink & no tip.

So, we actually got along pretty good and I am do believe that our mutual cordiality & friendliness was noticed by all the girls on stage. It may have been just coincidence, or my savoir fare & good looks, or maybe just random luck, but in all the time I knew her I never had a bad barfine from CH and in fact enjoyed a series of great, repeat girls. CH was my favorite Go Go for a couple of years including last year even after Twister, my 2nd favorite bar opened up.

It will be interesting to see if I do as well in CH this next time around without her being around and equally interesting to see if she is the same "Fat Mamasan" I think we are talking about when I walk into Billboard. She always welcomed me back to BKK with open arms and I do mean open arms whenever I walked back into her Go Go and she always remembered who my favorite girls were and if they were not around any longer what type of girl I preferred. 555! Not a bad mamasan in my opinion.

[/QUOTE]To Natty, yes it's the same mamasan, for sure. Often other staff in the bar dislike her too. Always pushy for drinks and tips, which is why I did my best to avoid her. Once you buy a mamasan a drink, she will start returning often like flies. She would also push the girls into asking for a drink for the mamasan.

Eih, I think you just mention a strange co-incidence in a way. It should be more a comment in the changes in the quality of the girls. I have only BFed one girl at BB, which had nothing whatsoever to do with the mamasan, and she was just great. I paid the BF to gay boy (mamasan), avoiding the fat one. Billboard line up has been improving. They don't lack really pretty girls any more. So it is not just good bodies.

Meanwhile the standard of girls at CH has declined over the years. I have had good and bad girls from there. I mostly just repeated my good girls. I don't see any correlation to the mamasan since I was not using her. I normally (not always) give my BF to the girl and she decides which mamasan to utilize. I have not tried a new girl at CH for at least 2 years, I guess (although I have bad memory for girls that were poor). I believe Jan (Jun) was last one I tried and she was fine, until eventually pissed me off at some later date. Before that I had a looker student Paeng (Donut) for a while till she disappeared (probably found a sponser). CH always had a mixture of good girls and crap girls. Perhaps more difficult to select girls if have the BBFS requirement. There are still 2 girls I can do there who were working there for years, on and off. New girls are risky. As always, if a new stunner showed up, I would try most likely. Just have not really been any lately when I was there. Definitely Billboard has much prettier girls right now, but we can't see the whole body. I just need more time to review the lookers and decide which one or two should be the most likely for GFE. I will have to show up earlier next time like 8. 30 PM, before gets too busy.

Big, older looking face. She is not the somewhat "cute" demeanor fat mamasan that I sometimes see there. She generally has a grumpy look on her face but can break into a smile quickly like she doesn't really doesn't know she looks so grumpy.

When I first saw her working in Billboard, she recognized me from her Crazy House days, we nodded and smiled at each other but that was and has ever since been about the extent of our interaction in Billboard. Maybe a couple of times she stepped up to where I was sitting in the bleachers and gestured to the girls on stage in that "Which one do you want?" move, to which I have always given a slight head shake no, not now, and she moves on. But most customers get that move from her and other mamasans. So I don't think to whatever extent her presence in Billboard has contributed to my much improved P4 P results there can be attributed to my being seen by the girls as knowing her, demonstrably friendly to her, tipping her, buying her drinks or even noticing her at all. Unless she has spoken to the girls about me on the side without my knowing about it, pointing me out across the room or whatever. And I have no idea why she would make that extra effort for me. So I doubt that happened.

If her presence there has contributed to my much improved P4 P experiences in Billboard at all, I can only attribute that to perhaps her choice of girls with whom she "rewards" by being nicer to them (the ones who get many happy return and repeat customers after being barfined by them), her general view of how both she AND the girls can make a lot more money by being persistent, focused and more diligent about their job rather than lazily skating just to make enough to get by tonight and that she imparts that general view to the girls where other mamasans don't even bother.

I don't mean to overly praise her. Or to praise her at all. Maybe my recent P4 P results at Billboard would be even better if she weren't there. But it might also be that her greediness to move money and more money from the customer's pocket to her cleavage pocket carries over to her stated expected results with the girls; meaning to do in the room what they agreed to do in the bar, do it with the right attitude and they will make more money, too. No way for me to know, really. But I will say this. If she gets fired from Billboard, I will certainly want to know where she is working next because I WILL be paying a visit there after 2-3 weeks to see how those girls are behaving with me in the room, too.

Is that a good thing? Maybe. I can see she might be very strict. I just personally do not wish to deal with her at all. I prefer a nice mamasan. A one time a waitress at Doll House was promoted to be the new mamasan. She was just lovely (personality not beauty). She replaced an irritating "suck" mamasan. Was that good for discipline in the bar? Maybe not.

Would be nice to have a mamasan not too pushy with the customers but managing the girls well (moderately strictly). LOL I do like that girls at Billboard seem to be trained to be not pushy with the customer, even if the mamasan is. Girls did not seem to approach me much in Billboard, except one occasion a very drunk one was pushy, despite my total lack of interest. Can get pushy girls at any bar, but Bunnies seemed to have quite a lot approaching while not called for. I try to be an expert at being total dead pan and disinterested when any girl tries to attract my attention, especially refusing to make eye contact tends to give them the message of total disinterest very quickly. This means I have to be impolite and unfriendly to avoid unwanted girls.

Many times I have witnessed guys unable to get rid of girls that approach, simply because they are too weak, too polite, and unable to turn on the "fuck off" switch. I don't mean we need to actually say "fuck off". My manner speaks louder than words. This is what I refer to as letting the girl choose the guy. May get a good one or may get a rip off girl. I always get mystified by a guy complaining that no girls approached him. LOL I love that when no one approaches (unless definitely called for). I can give a girl a signal very easily if I want her to approach, or even go to her if she is too shy to look around and notice me. Can't be too timid, but I take time to decide if I like the girl or not, and she is the preferred girl. I don't want even the superior ones to come at me too fast. Last night I chatted to two girls at Billboard, concurrently. In both cases gave them the signal of interest. I have to be very guarded though, not to show any interest too prematurely, when there are so many good looking candidates.

I have to appreciate other guys are different and any good looking girl will do, where I am more like trying to rate the girls beauty and chances to be really fun and sweet. Which girl will get the top rating for the bar or be runner up. I want to get the best I can get, compromise of beauty and attitude, and go to heaven. There is the big fear on choosing wrong and missing out on the best girl, or one of the best. 52 was really stunning for me, yet after talking to her, she came across as hyper and inattentive rather than sweet and lovey dovey, so I thought definitely a risky choice. She knew she was hot at one time saying her name was "Barbie" (her body was Barbie like even if only A-cups). Clearly was not going to get a tongue kiss out of her in the bar. LOL Meanwhile I could see 918 nearby reacting much better with her customer, very attentively. She was also very pretty for me in a less exotic way, possibly slightly bigger boobs on model body. These are the difficulties of choosing. Things may have been very different if called 918 earlier when she was available (initially she seemed a bit deadpan on the stage but this is not a bad sign when girls are a bit bored).

Maybe not.[/QUOTE]I believe the difference in how girls generally treat their customers re barfines and P4 P, well perhaps everything, has very much to do with what the mamasan or whoever is the voice of authority in the place actually TELLS them it is their job to do. I know that sounds simplistic. And I realize this is Thailand and not the Philippines. But let me relate a story about what I learned in Angeles City, the Philippines a couple of decades ago. And, yes, that was some time ago. But there and here are at least both Asian P4 P bar destinations and some things are still baked in the culture even after a few years.

There was a time when a big transition was happening in the Angeles City go-go bar venues. Many farang bar owners decided they would start moving away from a barfine-centric business model to a Lady Drink sales business model. They actually didn't want their girls to go on barfines, wanted them to stay in the bar and continue hustling Lady Drinks all night. And the girls could make an ok income from all those Lady Drink commissions. This idea was and still is wherever it is tried very bad for punters looking to get well laid and blown, of course.

However, SOME of the farang owned bars still had girls who didn't seem to give a damn about earning commissions on Lady Drinks and seemed perfectly happy being taken out by the customers for those famous "all-inclusive" Angeles City LTs where you pay everything upfront and off you go with your girl (not a big fan of that pay-upfront deal either, BTW. But I digress). Well, I had gotten to know some of the farang bar owners and their farang bar managers pretty well in Angeles City during that time and I had to ask, "Why are your girls still interested in barfine take-outs and almost never disappoint while girls in other bars are more interested in hustling Lady Drinks and not going on a take-out?" I also asked the same question but in reverse of the farang bar owners and farang bar managers of the bars where the girls were stuck on hustling Lady Drinks but not on going to the room with the customers and not likely to give very good service even if they did.

Had they been very selective about which kinds of girls were recruited for their bars?

Had they just happened to get a string of very bold and horny girls working in some bars but too shy girls working in others?

Were they paying less of a Lady Drink commission and allowing the girl to keep some of the barfine paid to the bar in some bars but vice versa in others?

What was the answer to this mystery?

Here was the answer; Each bar owner told the mamasan which way they wanted their girls to go, the mamasan told the girls what their job was in this particular bar and, by god, that is what they did. Just as simple as that. The girls who were told their job at this establishment was to sell Lady Drinks and not be too interested in going barfine, DID THAT. The girls who were told their job at this establishment was to do right by men who want to take them to the room and not to be so concerned about selling Lady Drinks, DID THAT.

So that is why I said in an earlier post that it probably wouldn't require much effort for a Thai mamasan to totally change the direction many if not most of the girls go in a bar IF she just gave a damn and told them what she expected of them at the get-go. The girls will see that as THEIR JOB and try to comply. I don't think a mamasan has to be really mean about it. Just, for the love of god, SAY SOMETHING in this regard to their girls and most will probably be inclined to honor that request. Maybe that is what the greedy, fat mamasan in Billboard does in the bars she works in. And maybe she takes it a little too far sometimes and gets so pushy about it the girls flee and then she gets canned. But in the meantime, there might be a period of time where things are in a somewhat proper balance and the girls will at least be vaguely INCLINED to see their job as following the directive of the mamasan.

That is, IF the mamasan has bothered to express a directive to her girls at all, especially regading P4P and barfines, other than don't come in late, don't chat on your phone so much, don't sit outside eating noodles too long, etc. I am almost positive most Thai mamasans don't say ANYTHING to their girls about what their job is with regard to the P4 P part of it. Not seriously tell them, I mean. There is no guidance from a voice of authority for it. So it is left up to each girl to decide where the fast buck and escape route is right this minute each time.

I spend most of my time in Jakarta and the mamasans at places like Hotel Classic and Hotel Travel are absolute crap.
